A Necessary Sacrifice

It was raining that day. He remembered it clearly. She was alone and her clothes soaked from the downpour. He had been struggling for months with something difficult. A sacrifice was needed in order to unlock the power, that is what he was told. To be able to use it he had to perform the ritual. She was a stranger, someone he could easily manipulate. She was similar to his sister in many ways, which only made it more difficult for him.

Going to leave a blind woman out in the rain?” she asked. He shook his head, unable to believe how lucky he had been. He let her in, helped her through the gate, and brought her inside. He watched her walk, looked her over. She seemed nice. She was just a little bit bigger than his sister. Her hair a gentle golden color that framed her face. The bandages that covered her eyes kept her from seeing anything, though it seemed not to matter. He brought her inside and talked with her, brewing her a nice cup of tea.

You have any family?

No. My mother passed away when I was younger, and my father...well…

He could not believe his luck. Before him sat a young woman with no family, no one to miss her. She was young enough to be used, but old enough to listen. He sighed, knowing what he had to do. As she drank her tea, he felt his heart pull. She was young and innocent, and he would have to destroy that innocence. He would have to do something he swore he would never do again. Soon she grew weary after their talk and he had her swooning for him, easily becoming his newest lover. Something he hoped to avoid as he couldn’t help but form a slight attachment to her after just a short time with her.

It was when he was done being tender and gentle, that he lead her to see the horses he kept in his stable. Young and naive the young woman followed with question, having no idea what was about to happen. Slowly he lead her deeper and deeper into the stable, bring her to the the very depths of the basement. When she heard the water, she assumed he had taken her to a nice little spring. Unable to tell where she really was. He pulled her close and kissed her gently. Her lips parting gently in a smile as she happily returned his kiss. However, it wasn’t long before his tender touch turned firm and different.

Soon she felt his hands on her neck. Her mind told her to run but she continued to kiss him. He was gentle and he was hers, right? After a moment his hands tightened and she realized how wrong she was. She struggled to get away. “Shhh…” he whispered as she opened her mouth in an attempt to breathe. “Please, it will be over soon.” He pushed her against the wall and tightened his grip. Her hands clawing at his arms, his gloves, trying to break free as he held her fast.

Tears leaked from behind the bandages on her eyes and he quickly turned away, struggling to stomach what he was doing. Her feet kicked for a moment before slowly falling still. “Just let it happen…” He said, pleading with her. Slowly her hands fell from his and to her sides as he held her there, trembling as he felt her life slipping away. He held her limp form for a few moments longer, making sure her body was truly gone before gently setting her on the alter.

Slowly he connected himself to the void for the first time in his life, taking a hold of the soul before it could escape to the monks. “I am sorry.” he whispered as he trapped her. The young woman, Alexia, was now dead to the world. Her spirit trapped in between life and death, in Limbo and unable to get peace. “W-where am I?” she asked, the voice ringing deep inside his mind. “I am sorry.” He repeated, both to himself and her. The voice rose in a panic as the trapped woman realized what had happened. She cried and sobbed. Her emotions ringed in his head even more then her voice, her unhappiness and terror bleeding into his own feelings.

You are a Necessary Sacrifice.” he said. His voice breaking as he stood before her body. “N-No! H-How could you?!” she cried. Her voice was echoing inside him, her emotions causing him pain as she struggled. “Please... it was Necessary.” After struggling with her internally for several long minutes, he managed to forcibly calm her down, for the time being.

I want to be free….” she sobbed.

Please….let me be free….

He was told to unlock such a power it would come at a great cost, and what a cost it was. To require one to form a bond with someone with the sole intent to betray and give them a fate worse then death later on is truly cruel and evil. No wonder so few people knew of this forbidden magic, and even fewer had it. Yet oddly enough it was originally created by a High Elven family to protest the wide spread use of magic by their kin. Such a power was wasted, it is not a means to protest. It is a weapon waiting to be used.

And now it shall be. Finally the mighty Fi'hiiran'tanya has fallen outside of High Elven hands. And it shall be put to good use. Soon the age of Mages shall be over, and Humanity will have a new weapon to use to it's advantage.

After the events with the Ritual Kaelys returned home.

After taking a few moments to flip through the pages of the tome that helped teach him this art, and then slowly lit it a flame. He will keep this knowledge to himself for the time being, until the time is right.

;_; Hope I never have to do something like this in RP again, too many feels.

You made an alt to get killed by emeriick then? Or was this some character I was unaware of?

Alexia Chamberlain was created by Jade Long before I created Kaelys, she was an old character jade used to play.

((Alexia is actually one of my first LotC characters but I put her on the back burner when I got Laila and forgot about her till recently. Telinair, Fideidefensor, Drone414, Hex37, and Emeriick were the only ones who actually interacted with her. This makes her easily missed and forgotten. She was my first character and my favorite. So no, I did not randomly create an Alt, I used an old character that needed closure.))

((I am actually quite glad I chose my old character Alexia over my child character, the feels would be far different if it had been a child.))
