Abresi is currently seeking the following:

 

 

City Steward

 

Abresi is looking for 1-2 new Stewards to take a leading role in actively sorting out the needs of the current population, as well as sorting out new citizens with plots of their choosing.

 

Aspiring applicatants will be judged based on their enthousiasm and knowledge of the city, while keeping an eye on timezones, to ensure an overlapping field of acitivity that citizens can rely upon.

 

Make sure you come prepared, as your potential role as Steward means dealing with a large number of questions on a daily basis. A comprehensive test will be part of your application procedure.

 

 

Tavern 'Innkeeper' and staff

 

The Abresi Tavern (current name: the Captured Kha) is on the lookout for new management, now that Yulia has announced her intention to move on to other things. 

 

Prospecitve applicants should be buisness-savvy and able to deal with the daily running of a Tavern, as well as have a long-term view and buisness model, as part of their application.

 

Abresi's Tavern is a focal point for the city and its activity is a point of pride, as well as a measure of succes within our walls.

 

Aside from a new owner, the Tavern will also need new staff (which by its very nature, has a high turnover rate.) Prospective Bartenders should also seek out the city management, if they are not tied to whomever ends up running the Tavern.

 

 

Stage Performers

 

The Abresi Town Hall is a fair-sized stage for the performance of all theatrical artforms.

 

With this in mind, Abresi would like to invite any and all stage-performers with the chance to show off their skill in suitable events.

 

Be it a small performance or a grand theatrical play, all are welcome.

 

Ideal applicants have a concise plan ready to present to the Maer, who will want nothing more then a short organisational understanding of what the person or group is planning, lest he may grant approval as expediently as possible.

 

 

Shop owners

 

Abresi is home to the commercial heart of Oren, having the large district in the city dedicated to the trade of goods and services.

 

Recently, a number of plots suitable for shops of a variety of sizes have opened up and Abresi invites prospective shop owners to claim them, for the economic benefit of all.

 

Ideal applicants need only seek out a city Steward to get matter sorted.

Why i want to Manage the tavern - I believe i could help improve rp by keeping the tavern active. We will not condone additional structures, no matter how small, to go up beyond the city limits.

Old Abresi was reduced in size for the simple fact that it had become too vast and bloated to function effectively.

 

Find a suitable outlet within the city, or look to the possibility of starting your own shop in a plot.

Come the next elven week (new year), the city management will compile the applications, including any that may follow after yours, to make a decision as to who might be best suitable to take up management of the Tavern.

 

Maer Joseph Lane would like it known that he prefers to base his decision on suitable buisness plans submitted to him for review

A simple statement of good intent, while admirable, is not something that will outweigh an overview of projected numbers of staff, plans to deal with varying levels of activity, both in terms of customers and workers.. and a projection of events to be held within the Tavern. Lastly, measures in which stock levels within the Tavern are expected to be held stable are appreciated.

 

You have the coming elven week to present whatever updated plans you deem necessary, after which, the judgement shall be made and a new owner (and whatever staff he chooses to bring along) instated.

Aegon walks into the tavern, and looks around only to find no one there. He walks towards the door to find a note. He takes a quill and paper, and starts to write a note.

 

"I would like to manage this tavern. I have been looking for a job and hopefully I can finally get one. If not then I can work for the tavern instead. I plan on giving it a better, more home-like feel to the tavern, a safe environment to everyone who visits."

My plans:

I plan on making the tavern not only safer to everyone, but make it more fun and have a welcoming feel to it. Many events will be held, like the "Ale Festival" Where free ale will be given after you buy the fifth drink. I will keep count of who has bought what and when, so that I can keep records. I will try to make the rooms the best they can be for our guests, and maybe make a bath-house for them in the down-stairs area, if I am allowed. This is a tavern, so at times, many times, things will get wild, and I won't try to keep that from happening, well, mainly because it's a tavern.

Adolphus strides into the The Captured Kha, his aged, black leather boots creaking against the unmanaged floorboards. As his head rocks downward, his eyes trail the shadowy footsteps left behind in the dust set on the wooden floors. He scoffs, stroking his bleached beard as his eyes dart around the one great business. "A shame..." He thinks to himself, running his hands along one of the supports of the building.

 

"Such a shameful disgrace, allowing something once so prosperous to fall into disarray, ran by rats." He spits, eyeing one of the creatures dart into the firepit. "My business is that of.. reconstruction.. I can bring this building to light once more, dump my own wealth into it to revitalize this city. A good tavern, hell it is a great place for any market, drawing people in to spend their money, to tell their tales, to enjoy their city to its fullest potential. Should their lips require the most exotic of brews.. my employees can create a fantasy array of beverages to quench their thirst, and the finest of foods fit for a king to fill their bellies. An insurance.. yes.. for their enjoyment.. such a good idea.." He pauses for a moment, turning only to catch the glimpse of a messenger bearing a small scroll. He narrows his eyes in quieted rage, a slight growl slipping from his lips before he turns back into the tavern, having his thoughts interrupted by a simple courier. "My business.. needs to open an establishment here.. yes.. it very much does." He looks over a large, golden ring sitting proudly on his ring finger, gemstones shining in the moody torchlight, a mighty relic from the taverns he managed.

The tavern, in any town, a huge focal point for role play. Look back into the medieval ages, a tavern served as the heart of any town, and I intend to monopolize on that very characteristic. Allowing people to gather and role play will be a mighty thing to see, the hopeful interchange of stories, the pursuit of the tales of a patron, or the enjoyment derived from watching a drunkard stroll about the streets, spouting perishable nonsense. Hiring a player derived staff will widen the variety of role play that I do very hopefully expect from the tavern, and all its spoils. Not only will this allow for a chance for the newer players to learn how to role play passively, but it will net them a good amount of money to settle their roots in other aspects of the server. In the end, this is not about making a fortune, but it is essential for the maintenance of the tavern. In the end, this is for the better of role play in Abresi, and I intend to follow up on that promise.
