The North Never Rests

Do you expect us to have tea and crumpets with people in full armor who come and shoot arrows at us and PVP us on sight?

Funny, we scripted the fight so you guys can win, and guess what, you still lost the battle. We TRIED to lose.

One word

WHY?!~

The antags are bad. There, I said it.

Only ones with PvP magic.

Want to dabble in political affairs but don't abide by political rules, like warclaims. Why? "Well, we're the Antags of course!"

No engaging storyline, just 'show up, pvp, die' events.

Antags can fly around and spawn mobs. #yolo

There are no events where the playerbase at large get an opportunity to learn about the past of Setherien and Aruzond. There has never been a reason even provided for why the Northmen attack and corrupt things, at least not explained to the playerbase at large. One is just to assume ' 'cause they're the bad guys'. I hate to be that guy who references Aegis, but Iblees and the undead had a story and motives that fueled their actions. They didn't just come from 'impenetrable ice land' and fly down south to smite the players when they felt like it.

Thank you for saying this. Thank you so much. After a little chat in teamspeak, I made a little post... many of these points are highlighted in it.

They said that the last time they were reformed - not much changed.

I really like the idea behind antagonists, and I know the players who play them are in general, some of the best we have to offer here at LoTC, but they seem to have unlimited powers and very little responsibilities.

At the end of the day, we're all players. Even the staff.

Perhaps it's time to bite the bullet, and ask them to follow the same rules we do as players (VA's, raid rules, warclaim rules, etc) when not in a server-wide event.

This would surely make their RP more enjoyable and accessible for all (even the antags!)- because as of now - they harbor a 'win at all costs' attitude, and when those with genuine concerns make any sort of comment, they are shot down because the antagonists 'receive these complaints every day'. Case and point, they used trees to avoid combat in a past event, while raining down whither skeletons and Nexus Magic. I complained, and got told to stop complaining.

I think the idea behind antagonism has been lost - it's too create enjoyable world dynamic RP for all - not roflstomp the playerbase like the Undead once did in Aegis, into oblivion.

We're not going to 4.0 just yet.

That's my ten cents.

EDIT: Here's what i'm talking about. They think they can do whatever they please. Who watches these guys, and why do they think themselves better than everyone? Herendul has not even been informed of /any/ of this, and Jistuma is just acting like it's common knowledge.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Antags need to read this post and thing long and hard on this. Because he is not the only one with these sentiments.

The event wasn't scripted, but we did have an outline of what we hoped would happen. No one was planning to win or lose. I don't know why some people still thought it was scripted, even though I told them at least twice.

I was confused on whether or not it was scripted. But it was all over TS on how we should go easy on the enemy and actually let them win, just so we can somehow open the north to them. We tried to lose, and some even tried to suicide mid battle, but we won the fight anyway. Let's be frank, the enemy team just acted like complete derps that time. During that time, I protested on TS on how we should not purposely alter the favor to one side, and instead just do the best we can regardless of who wins, because honestly, I'd rather not participate in any future events with the Antag if it's going to be set up so one person wins, regardless of each side.'

To be frank, I just want one IC event without people OOCly complaining. But this is LOTC, and we've been so used to crying, whining and moaning that it's somehow become the norm. I'm sick of it, and I just wish this community just this one would just roll with the punches.
