Yes. I have played intensive role-play mud's for several decades.

I have not role-played on a Minecraft server, but I am looking forward to it.

How did you hear about us?: I learned of this mud through a profile link of a user on Rise of Kings.

 

What do you think the server will be like?

I hope the server will be as role-play intensive as the mud's I am used to playing on with the added benefit of a craft-able environment and pictures :).

What’s your favorite rule / the rule you agree with the most?:

My favorite rule is the one about leaving tree leaves in the sky. One of my favorite aspects of Minecraft is the realistic environment and I dislike it when people leave tacky looking blocks all over the place. It seems to me that many servers are ruined over time by people playing on them then leaving the server with their only contribution ugly remains of poorly built / dug / chopped down blocks.

What is roleplaying?:

Role-playing is immersing yourself in the persona of another person. Acting within his/her abilities, beliefs, and knowledge while ignoring your own. Enjoying the story and how it plays out and your character's place in it.

 

What’s metagaming?:

Meta-gaming is using your own knowledge to fill in the gaps for what your character does not know how to do. Metagaming is opposed to roleplaying because you having effectively given up playing that
character and instead pursued the advantage of your own knowledge of events/actions.

What’s powergaming?:

Power-gaming is attempting to take every advantage you can to "win" a game. Roleplaying is in opposition to power gaming because you are attempting to play a person with both strengths and weaknesses. No one always wins in real life just as in roleplay.

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore
when writing):

Jacob was born in New Abresi to his mother, Jade, and father Enoch. His parents were poor with many children though they were both skilled at their trades. War and famine had left quite a demand for their
trades, and Jacob and his siblings were encouraged to help with the family trades. Enoch worked in the mines and helped out at the local blacksmith though he was never officially an apprentice. Jade was a carpenter and made building materials for houses and furniture for the nobles of the city. As a youth Jacob was taught the importance of discipline, waking up early and working late, and respecting your elders. As the firstborn son he was taught to take care of his siblings and help with his parents work when needed. He often went with eating less or using clothing passed down from his parents so
that the younger children could be properly clothed and fed for the passing winters. Youthful in nature, Jacob would often sneak off to the surrounding countryside and hunt for meat or food to put on the
table. Often he would secure wood for his mother or spend a day in the mines with his father. Over time his siblings grew up and were able to help themselves more and more. His father and mother are
getting older. However, they are now being taken care of more and more by the younger children. Jacob finally feels confident enough to venture out into the world and make his own name and family for himself.

What are they like (personality)?:

Jacob is a disciplined, resourceful, self motivated individual with a strong sense of family. He applies
himself actively to accomplish his goals and has good sense of humor. He is slow to trust, but fiercely loyal. Being of very low peasant birth, he also understands the dangers of ignoring the suggestions of
those of who are your betters.

What are their ambitions?:

Jacob wishes to find a suitable city with friendly people to settle down in. He wants to build a home and
perhaps find a wife and have some kids. He has a desire to belong to a community and develop his skills as a creator or inventor of useful things. Depending on how the role-play leads this could be a
carpenter, blacksmith, inventor or other creative job.

 

Do they have any special skills?:

Jacob has basic knowledge of mining, chopping down trees, and carpentry. He is very good at hunting and gathering. He is skilled at using a bow, tracking, and surviving outdoors. Jacob is also a very fast runner.

What are their weaknesses?:

Jacob is very poor. His loyalty could be used against him fairly easily. He often will go without in order
to help those he considers his family or friends. Jacob has a distinct wanderlust born out of trips to hunt that often interferes with his desire to settle down. Lord's and ladies impress Jacob immensely and he often associates rank with prowess or superior morality. This could cause him to be led down a dark path if it is done so carefully and by someone of noble rank / birth. He usually ignores his hygiene and clothing. Jacob has never had much money, so any sudden change in wealth would test his since of right and wrong. Though he is a Southeron, he station in life hasn't granted him much chance to practice the art of politics.

Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?:

Jacob is tall (6'4'') and athletic. He has the tight, well developed muscles of youth, but they are built more for endurance and less for strength. He has brown hair and usually doesn't find the effort to shave. He wears pauper's clothing (usually a dirty tan shirt and common brown pants). He does have a decent pair of black boots that he loves to wear. His eyes are dark brown.

Anything else you want to say about them?:

acob is not good with hygiene or clothing with the exception of a nice pair of boots his mother bought for him. It is one of his few nice possessions and he takes great care of them. Plus they protect
his feet! He's got to keep them in good shape if he wants to continue to be out in the wild.
