Lyuin 65 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Uneasily Hugh registers one of the party-members examining a new longbow. He warily lowers his fiddle for a moment, stands and looks into an open topped crate of his nearby. Inside he notes the scabbard that held his longsword and another that held a dirk, both steel. He hoped he didn't need to use either of them...after all a bard shouldn't be too involved in his own song. He paused for a moment before cautiously reaching into the crate and lifting the longsword and dirk. He went to the second crate and lifted several piles of clothing before finding his neatly folded chainmail hauberk and studded leather gambeson, he slings them over his shoulder grunting with the effort and begins making his way below decks so he can change. lukejes 55 Share Posted February 8, 2014 "I have many contacts. In Westeros, the Free Cities and everywhere in between. I have held sway in the Iron Bank of Braavos for a long while now and I may have... obtained a large amount of money from their vaults. And you, you hold the key to my future power. I have the money, you hold the power. A perfect match, that's what we are!" Ramyr examines one of the captain's books that sits on a shelf. "I am the blood of the dragon, Captain. You may be familiar with the Targaryen marriage tradition. We interbred to keep the bloodline strong. Only a quarter of my blood is that of the dragon, but I shall suffice. I will be Daenerys's husband... or if my plan goes awry, I will at the very least be granted a lordship and a position on her council after she storms Westeros. And so, my new-found ally, you are probably quite confused. What do you have to do with any of this?" Ramyr unrolls a piece of parchment from his sleeve and places it on the captain's table. "It is a contract," he explains. "It states that if you were to lose your command in any way that, although your title would transferred to whoever is next in command, I will hold the true power on this vessel. In return, you would be granted a large portion of my hard-earned fortune. Oh, and of course you are not allowed to tell anyone of this." Ramyr goes on to speak about a few other terms. None of these will matter though, the fool. Only the first term is what I need. "So what do you say captain? I have a horrible fear of sea travel, I must admit. It would quite reassuring to know that I'd have a bit of power if something horrible occurred and quite beneficial financially for you." Ramyr awaits the captain's reply. When he doesn't say anything he adds, "I must get to Daenerys safely Captain. You understand, I am sure."
Westerosi Lord 2 Author Share Posted February 8, 2014 The captain snorts and looks at Ramyr. "I am no stupid man, whelp. You lure me with the promises of gold and power, if I am to sign this contract giving you power over my ship. Next thing I know I will find myself at the bottom of the sea, with your smug ass sitting in my own chair. Here's what will happen now, you will give me a hundred golden dragons, or I will go right now and tell Jonathan of what you plan to do." The captain leans back, grinning. -- Jonathan emerges from the deck, and looks at everyone. Sheathing his sword, and slinging his shield over his back, Jonathan shouts. "Everyone get above deck, we're leaving port. Once we reach the sea the full extent of my plan shall be revealed!" Jonathan strides off to the captains cabin, to see what the hold up was. Draeris 3124 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Ellessa Tyrell ((Obviously not Margaret)) Wasn't the day just so wonderful? The screams on deck, the mysterious men sharpening their swords and preparing their bows. The wind blowing in her hair. She was silent, and avoided contact until getting on the boat. Finally she would get it, her adventure she wanted since her youth. With a small Tyrell engraved dagger, some bags of food and a large book full of song and poetry, she was ready for everything. The world could be beautifull, when the people participated in doing it. As the captain screamed, she took her place on a crate in the lower deck, in a dark but warm corner out of the splashes of water and wind. She opened the first page, it was a traditional song. As the boat prepared to deport, Ellessa thought to herself that perhaps some her voice could be of aid. She cleared her throat, and started to mumble the tunes of the song before her. My featherbed is deep and soft, And there I lay you down, I'll dress you all in yellow silk, And on your head a crown, For you shall be my lady love, And I shall be your lord, I'll always keep you warm and safe, And guard you with my soul. And how she smiled, and how she laughed, The maiden of the tree, She spun away, and said to him: No featherbed for me, I'll wear a gown of golden leaves, And bind my hair with grass, But you can be forest loves, And me your forest lass. My featherbed is deep and soft, And there I'll lay you down, I'll dress you all in yellow silk, And on your head a crown, For you shall be my lady love, And I shall be your lord, I'll always keep you warm and safe, And guard you with my soul. While she sang, she noticed the mysterious man checking over his equipment, wearing a bandana like he hid something. She liked mystery, but it felt weird.. Weird in a way that it was real, in front of her, not on parchment read by her safe within Tyrell walls.
lukejes 55 Share Posted February 8, 2014 "Very well, if that's the way you see it. Here is your dragons." Ramyr removes a pouch of dragons and sets it on the captain's table. "Keep the wine... it's the least I can do." This man is not as stupid as I first believed. Time for my secondary plan. Let him drink the wine. It will be last thing that touches his tongue before the poison kicks in. His death will be swift, he deserves that at least. A heart attack, that's what they'll call it. With just a hint of a smile, Ramyr leaves the cabin, taking the contract with him. He doesn't look back.
Draeris 3124 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Ellessa notices the man leaving, giving a quick nod as she continues chanting the wonderful tunes of the wall. All these people looked like they could betray you any moment, she needed to play the game along. It was like a game of thrones, and the throne the end goal of this adventure. She quickly smiles and fakes her cheeks becoming red by some tongue choking techniques to impress the man, hopefully that would bring up some interest in the near future. Westerosi Lord 2 Author Share Posted February 8, 2014 Nodding to the man leaving, and quickly biting down on one of the dragons, the captain raised his glass and downed it in one go. Before Ramyr could leave fully, the captain says, "You poured yourself a drink but yet you do not drink? Sit down, have a drink of your own wine!" Jonathan opens the captains door, to come face to face with Ramyr. "Ramyr, a pleasure. Hail captain. Come Ramyr, it's time you all know the plan. Drink later with the captain later." As the captain groaned and sat up, to begin starting the long process of debarking from harbor, the band of adventurers gathered around Jonathan. The Pink Maiden left shortly after, catching a favorable wind. As they entered the sea, Jonathan gazed at all the men and women under his command. "We will maker port as Astapor, this much you know. From there, agents under our benefactors pay will give us all the food, horses, and supplies we will need. From there, we must travel the lands of Astapor, to the Lhazaereen. We will receive Valyrian steel forged chains, that will be able to withstand a dragon's bite or flame. From there we will head back down, to Meereen. How we will exactly get the dragons will be worked at later. Now get to know each other, rest, eat, or drink. Do whatever you want for now, it will be a long voyage." Lyuin 65 Share Posted February 8, 2014 For you shall be my lady love,And I shall be your lord,I'll always keep you warm and safe,And guard you with my soul. As Hugh begins making his way through the lower decks, chainmail clinking softly in rhythm with his footsteps on the wooden floor, he hears a voice in song. The final few lyrics reach his ears and he smiles recognising the song and raises his voice aloud so the singer may hear him. "Beautiful song m'lady." With that, checks his sword again before tuning his violin and plucking the strings several times for reassurance.
Draeris 3124 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Ellessa heared the loud voice complimenting her, but she akwardly didn't know where to look. She decided to look through the small square holes through the wooden planks, which was the only opening to the lower deck. She replied with a nimble voice "Thank you, I haven't heard any compliment about it until now. Perhaps show yourself, it would be a shame for a lady to talk to mere wood. A man with a voice like yours would atleast look handsome than oaken wood." She smiled to herself, hoping for some social contact to happen. She knew that she wouldn't be able to betray anyone, thats why she needed friends, true friends with true spirits. She opened the book on another page, waiting for the man to show himself. Lyuin 65 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Hearing her reply, he laughs lightly. "M'lady, you may be a tad disappointed, I'm a bard and my finest talent is my voice but thank you for the compliment. " With that he makes his way towards the wooden boarding where he heard the voice and states at reasonable level "Now I fear I'm the one talking to wooden planking." He quickly pauses, place the violin between his chin and neck and uses his left hand to sweep back his hair.
Draeris 3124 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Ellessa chuckles, placing the book to her side as she stepts towards the wooden boarding "Can't we find another alternitive, I don't think the wood will coorperate if we ask it to vanish nicely, perhaps you could use a ladder or staircase, or whatever these modern ships use these days." She looks around for a staircase, smiling as she knew this one is to trust.
Lyuin 65 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Laughs at the comment. "Aye I'm sure these 'modern ships' do have these so called 'ladders' or perhaps a staircase." Glancing around he quickly tries to remember the one he had used earlier when changing. He begins reciting directions in his head before he begins a brisk walk towards the direction of the staircase. He quickly notes it and the change in light. He blinks several times before placing violin and the instrument's bow under one arm before planting one foot after the other and slowly making way to the steps. "Will be nice to finally make your acquaintance m'lady."
Draeris 3124 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Ellessa arches her eyebrow in amusement "My Lady?" She grabs the edges of her red dress with her nimble fingers, and pulls it up as she bows in an elegant manner "I shall accept your acquaintance with honour m'lord, will thou accept my hand for a dance?" She chuckles , with flourishing red cheeks. The bard seemed more handsome than expected. She offers hand to the blinking man, feeling the wind embrace her neck in coldness. Lyuin 65 Share Posted February 8, 2014 "Ah your voice is truly as beautiful as your face." Hugh smiles lightly before lightly taking the hand. "May I have the honour of knowing your name?"
