Westerosi Lord 2 Share Posted February 6, 2014 The people who had not the strength to embark on the adventure quickly finished their drinks and left. Jonathan Flowers smiled at the brave few who remained seated, and simply stated. "I have arranged for the Pink Maiden to take us over the narrow sea to Astapor. From there we will find what information we can of our situation, and then head off to accomplish our goal. The Pink maiden will set sail in three days time, meet me at the ship. I will give any laggards a half day, no more. Gather what supplies you can, and keep in mind of the situation and possible situations we may be in. Here is your advanced pay." Jonathan would then hand out three golden dragons to each man, and watch their eyes sparkle at such a large amount being used just as advanced payment. Jonathan rises from his seat, and heads to the bar for more mead, eyeing a lusty wench. "Remember, the Pink Maiden in three days!"
DigitalRescue 4 Share Posted February 6, 2014 "Eh, certainty of death, small chance of success... What are we waiting for?!" Rickard grins and takes the gold, and downs his ale. Maybe he could even have a go with the dragon Queen herself, eh?
Lyuin 65 Share Posted February 6, 2014 Hugh Raelthon takes the gold, rolling the dragons between his fingers before burying them in his belt. He nods his thanks and chuckles at Rickard's comment before vaulting onto a bench near where he lifts his fiddle and raises his voice and states in a mockery of a grand voice "Now I shall treat you all with a masterpiece, a favourite of a certain king!" He raises his bow and his voice and begins to sing a cask of ale whilst playing a tune to accompany it.
Westerosi Lord 2 Author Share Posted February 6, 2014 Jonathan smiled at the odd band he has assembled, and downed his ale before leaving the room. The wench he had chosen gave him one last sly look before running off in search of her next customer. Staying and getting to know the men under his command would of been nice, but Jonathan had business to attend to. "I'd suggest you lot get the right supplies, it'll be quite the journey." With that Jonathan left, and headed off towards another discreet inn. There he sat down with a man, who was quick to state. "I'm glad that you have found such capable men, Flowers. I trust our agreement is still in order?" "Of course, Lord Varys. We meet the girl, and convince her to come to Westeros to rally the lords to her cause. What will I tell the men when the time comes?" "That they will still get their pay, and will achieve lands and titles, that should be enough." "My only concern is actually getting to Me-" "I'll trust you to solve those issues" And with that Varys left, leaving a bag of golden dragons on the table. From there Jonathan made way to the merchants quarters, to buy all the supplies he imagined he would need. He knew one thing however, and that was one of those dragons would be his, and damn anyone who tried to stop him and his men. ((I'll let everyone role play a bit before making the post of the time to set sail))
lukejes 55 Share Posted February 6, 2014 Ramyr's mouth slowly twists into a grin as he slides the dragons onto his palm. "Not much, but It'll have to do..." he says, knowing full well that it is indeed a lot of money. "I have never been particularly fond of sea travel. When I was a lad, I sailed to Braavos in my early trading days. The men aboard told me I was greener then the crannogmen. I wonder if this Pink Maiden is a fast vessel..." Ramyr goes off to find a goblet of Arbor gold.
Volutional 935 Share Posted February 6, 2014 "Fastest." Ayr says with his Dornish accent. He knows it's the fastest, he's traveled on it twice. It makes occasional trips past Tarth and to the Arbor, hence the high amount of wine in the caskets of this inn. Ramyr gets up to do something or other. Ayr collects his money. He doesn't neceassaily need it however. He has been provided with a castle-forged steel spear and shield. He doesn't wear armor. "Eh, certainty of death, small chance of success... What are we waiting for?!" The man says. A sudden rush as though something was telling Ayr that he'd heard that before... But where? Ayr follows Jonathan after seeing him leave the presence of a hooded, large man. He heads for the merchant's quarters and Ayr intends to speak to him. "You are aware of the rumors, yes?" Ayr speaks, accent flowing as usual. His garb consisting of a fine black top, clearly that of a rich lord, and some trousers with two red silk belts flowing from the tying belt holding them up. "The Khaleesi is said to be strong, and everybody knows the Zaldrizoti* can roar loader than lions. Half of Slaver's Bay shall hear us if we fail. There is much risk for such wealth, I just ask whether I know the truth before I sacrifice my life." * - Zaldrizoti - High Valyrian - Dragons
Lyuin 65 Share Posted February 6, 2014 Hugh eventually tires of the songs and tunes, deciding he should finish equipping himself for the journey ahead. With that he leaves . (Sorry had to be done by mobile, won't be able to participate for several hours. By all extensive means Hugh would join and meet the group.)
seannie 7443 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Victor takes the dragons from Jonathan with a shrug and pockets them by his side then readjust his belt as he marches off in search of a blacksmith that is able to repair his armor before the Pink Maiden leaves. Westerosi Lord 2 Author Share Posted February 7, 2014 Jonathan Flowers eyed the Dornishmen in front of him, waiting to hear his two cents. "It is indeed true that we shall sail the narrow sea to get us a dragon, and fear not for if my plans go smoothly we shall not need to lay down a single life. Indeed the dragon queen is strong, I have been told Astapor is now in the hands of the 'Butcher King' and that Danery's makes court in Meereen. This however will work to our advantage, and I'll tell you and the rest of the men the full plan when the Pink Maiden arrives from sea." Leaving the Dornishmen in the streets, Jonathan went to the merchants quarter to finish the last of his plan. Vary's had paid him well to bring Danerys to Westeros, but he was being paid very well by a benefactor who wanted nothing but the dragons. In a dingy alleyway, deep in fleas bottom, Jonathan meets with a disciple of the benefactor. "The chains have been safely transported to Quarth, and from there our men will take part of a large caravan heading towards the Lhazareen. You and your men will have to personally enter the sheep lands and secure the chains." More detailed plans are handed to Jonathan in a pamphlet. ((The Pink Maiden and the real beginning of our adventure will start tomorrow, enough time for late applicants and Huwel. I also would recommend at least a paragraphs worth of content each post.)) Sneaky 189 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Wilson had to keep his identity to these people a secret, using his bandana to cover his face, and speaking when only spoken to. He pockets the money and walks off to a nearby fletcher to look for some more arrows, mostly broad head arrows. He look around the area seeing a food market and using a couple more coins to purchase the extra food. As he makes his way to the fletcher he sees this beautiful longbow on a shop stall the dilemma was that it would use 3/4s of the money he had left. But he decided to buy it and 10 extra arrows. As he approached the ship he waited for the rest of the crew.
lukejes 55 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Ramyr enters the market knowing exactly what he's looking for. A cask of the strongest wine available to loosen a man's tongue. A sharp dagger forged in the east. A copy of the Seven-Pointed Star. Ramyr Rivers is not a very religious man, but why not have the Seven's favor during the long journey ahead? Ramyr then turns into an alley where one of his many contacts is awaiting him. "Do you have it?" Ramyr asks. "I do, but I cannot help but wonder why you require this particular poison..." "That is none of your concern. Here's your money." Ramyr tosses the man a coin. "We never met." The man nods and slinks into the shadows.
Lyuin 65 Share Posted February 7, 2014 As Hugh wanders around the streets, he takes in the sights and smells. He dully notes the smells mostly consist of manure and dirt, the sights however are far more enjoyable and he pauses a moment to ponder on the first verse of his 'epic' when suddenly he hears a hushed voice. "Over here." Warily he turns to the voice his eyes falling upon the large figure of his blacksmith friend Arrion. Hugh grins raising a hand in greeting. "Hail friend, just the man I was looking for...I need my armour checked." Arrion pauses for a moment before letting out a chuckle mixed with a cough. "Another bloody epic eh? Well I'll do your armour up, just don't come back with it dented." With that Hugh wanders follows the blacksmith, preparing for his adventure ahead. DigitalRescue 4 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Rickard stood and left the tavern, after leaving a quick sentence for the men still in there. "Well lads, I'll see ye' in three days... That's if I don't wake up in some open sewer outside a brothel with a knife in my back in this gods-forsaken city. Har!" With that he leaves, heading straight for the blacksmith. He had all that he needed planned out in his mind: rope, weapons, food, drink, poison, medicine and bandages. He had camping supplies on his horse too, though he doubted he could take the beast with him. He loves that bloody mount, and would swim with him to Essos if he could, but he can't. Once he'd gotten his sword sharpened and armor repaired on Smith Street, he headed to the Dragonpit. So far, he'd gotten - or borrowed - a 'souvenir' from all the capitals from the Seven Kingdoms. A Weirwood leaf from Winterfell, a white stone from Whiteharbor, a Tully brooch from Riverrun, snow (well water now, he didn't have much too take) from the Eyrie, an axehead from Pyke, a Lannister ring from Casterly Rock, crushed flowers from Highgarden, half a stag's antler from Storm's End and Dornish rope from Sunspear. Pretty good for the 22 years of his life. Now he needed something from the City of Lies, Spies and Flies, King's Landing. Whilst he was searching, he reflected on his life. Or his age. He wasn't as green as the Young Wolf, but had a while to go until he reached the age of Ser Barristan Selmy. Most other Knight's look down on him, but he bets none of those have had a go with Cersei Lannister herself... Yeah, he has alot of accomplishments. He found what he was looking for at the Dragonpit. It was probably the only place you could find a Targaryen banner in the Seven Kingdoms without being beheaded for treason. He rolled it up and stuffed it into his sack, before returning to the Inn. He had a close call with some Gold Cloaks guarding the pit, but managed to bribe them off with a Golden Dragon, stepping away whilst they fought over it. His 'souvenirs' might impress the Dragon Queen, especially the last one. ((Guessing we're starting where the show left off, just after the Red Wedding?)) Lyuin 65 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Hugh tapped his foot impatiently. He had been counting his tapping for the last hour or so. Still he had lost count at 1369 when he was interrupted by a gold-cloak asking about his constant loitering. Hugh of course had met the man with a smile and quickly explained the situation. As the watchman left, he watched him for a moment before he felt a hand clamp down on his shoulder. "Armour and sword needed little work. Thought I'd give you a new ringmail shirt, you'll need more than boiled leather out there." Hugh chuckled and raised an eyebrow before stating. "Why my friend, I plan only to write a tune, it is against the custom for a bard to be too involved in his own tale!" Arrion furrowed his eyebrows laden with sweat and soot. "Aye but I know where you're goin' and from what I've heard it isn't pretty." He shrugs before nodding "Good luck Hugh. Don't die." Hugh chuckled at the warning "I'll be fine my friend, back before supper." With that he headed towards the docks for a look at this 'Pink Maiden'
seannie 7443 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Victor stands about near gangway of the Pink Maiden, eyeing the people entering the ship. With a sigh seeing that he wont be leaving anytime soon he sits down on top of a supply crate, placing his sheathed sword across his lap and observes the docks and the other people he would be travelling with. Especially this "Jonathan Flowers", Victor never believes bastards. Then after getting bored of thinking, he yawns and leans back, and dozes off in front of the Pink Maiden until someone would wake him up to leave.
