Iosif 72 Share Posted February 26, 2014 SOLVED Thanks Jade Kadoa So, recently I was in the vicinity of a blood shard when it exploded, and I am wondering qbout saying some of it was imbeded in my character. However I would need to know the effects of it. First, is it corrosive? Would it burn away flesh, metal or fabric? What if here was no direct contact but it was suspended in mid air, near fabric? What effects does it have on the soul, aura and mind? Would this blood shard even be an issue? Would it be akin to metal shrapnel? I'd prefer somebody who either has experience with the Scourage, or has delt with implanted blood shards before.
Supremacy 3361 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I'll point Jistuma to this. I will however note, the Lore Q & A exists for a reason— You can use that instead of making a new thread.

I forgot that existed for a minute... The thread's already made though, so I'll give it a couple of hours before marking as solved. Thanks.
MamaBearJade 2090 Share Posted February 26, 2014 From my experience I have been told that its all based on the RPer.I was told its corrosive to the skin, but I have also been told it isnt.So i believe it varies. You can have it decay the skin or stay embeded.mental wise, it slowly drives your char mad and corrupts them.if in your body too long you could be suseptable to becoming a servant of setherine. Merkaken 516 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Eheheh... Sorry about that... But yeah, I think it depends on the RPer. It should do something physically and mentally, but that'd be up to you.
Neri 3590 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I was told by Alan that there was currently no set lore for the bloodshards and their effects can be decided by the player if it makes logical sense. I myself believe them to be conduits of Setherien's power, much like Harbingers, but far stronger, too strong to house inside an actual being. They passively corrupt the land around them and grant Setherien's minions a boost in their powers when nearby. When they are 'destroyed', their tie to Setherien is forcibly cut - but after you remove the limit on how much of his power is flowing, causing the huge explosion. Setherien can communicate through the crystals, as well as use his presumably Aengudaemonic powers to warp and twist beings in proximity to them (over sustained periods of time, of course), affecting both body and mind of the affected creature. I believe this justifies the random array of effects that players RP happening due to Setherien making different choices on what the victim experiences. This isn't the official lore but it's what I think makes the most sense in my own mind.
Shadeleaf 1022 Share Posted February 26, 2014 If you wish a more specific reasoning, contact me over skype at razid17016 There we can talk much more in depth, as I pretty much know... everything. About the damn red floaty things.

About the damn red floaty things. No one understands they're not called blood shards, its the Harbinger's helmet that makes it sound like that, rather than the proper name, Love Shards.
