Patch 3.9: Character Cards And Vip Perks

Shift + click the persona you want to "permakill" in your menu, the slot becomes empty. Replace that slot with the new character you want to play, create a new persona in the now empty slot. When you are done with your new persona, shift + click it and replace it with your old one. It's basically the same as /removecard and /createcard.

How do I open that menu ?

Can I just report a few bugs and one thing I sort of find irritating?

-The description Alias

Multiple times I have heard reports of people's 1-line description being copied into their Alias. Afterwords, when they finally do fix it, there is no way to remove said Alias, so, like me, Their stuck with something like [snow Elf] or (mine) [bird-Girl].

-The character I was currently playing was Human, but...

2/3 of my main characters are Elven, but I'm going to get the Human perks? This somewhat annoys me. Not a bug or anything, just sayin'...

Are 10 year old's not children? Also, if it means that much to you, set your age to 10 and pretend you're like 6 or something. Nobody's going to ban report you just because you act 4 years younger than your technical age...

Call me old fashioned, but I like peoples' character cards being able to display their character information.

For the most part I've been enjoying the update and I do think it's pretty niffy. Of course, somethings could be modified but I'm enjoying it thus far.

But one little recommendation, perhaps give LMs the ability to name items in yellow or a special color for the lore masters and give them the ability to make descriptions. Maybe a system where it has a stamp similar to when GMs approve an item?

I.E.

The Incorporeal Blade of the Fallen

**PtahWithin has approved this item.**
Blah blah blah. This is a description. Use your imagination.

Nice work, Sporadic! Although I do have a quick question; In your post you mentioned that Gold VIP+ can now have 3 character cards at a time, and I must ask why this has been changed? One of the only reasons I donated for Iron VIP (and I'm sure many others as well) was to get the third character card, but it seems as if those of us who did this have been sort of screwed over. :/

One of the only reasons I donated for Iron VIP (and I'm sure many others as well) was to get the third character card, but it seems as if those of us who did this have been sort of screwed over. :/

The numbers came from upstairs, so I can only guess what the official reasoning was, but I see the changes as a gameplay change meant to have players put more consideration into individual Personas rather than cycling through larger amounts of them.

In future updates that I am aware of it becomes attractive for the characters your character surrounds themselves with to be more reliably available (without having to poke them via tells/skype to get on that particular alt). Off the top of my head, here's reasons why you'd want that:

1) Every town will need a certain activity level to be recognized as a township, and having a resident which also has many alts cannot muster up the same activity as a resident dedicated to only that Persona.

2) Nexus Craft places much more emphasis on players working together, each Persona exercising one particular Profession and creating a supply chain for their community. If one of the vital links in the chain spends more time between alts, it will hinder resource allocation which is bad for the collective. In the same vein, leveling three alts is tougher than leveling only 2.

And as to why alts were limited prematurely, this has to do with deathlines on the VIP perks, and to allow for more specific feedback (between 4.0 feedback, magic feedback, skill feedback AND the new Core system it would've been impossible to wade through the response)

Another question that I feel has been only vaguely addressed, Does this change anything about the magic system? Do people who already know magic have to re-learn it due to the skills plugin, or does the magic-learning process stay the same?

How hard is it to time skip to 10? What's the big deal?

Very. It makes no RP sense. Two characters have a child in RP. 10 years have not passed since birth. I don't think a child 'fades to black' born a 10 year old...

It doesn't have to make sense. If you want to play a kid again start him out at ten.

I don't think you're really understanding. This is two existing characters, played by real people, who want to have a child. They want someone to play this child, have it grow and teach it things. If they want someone to play their kid before the age of 10 they should be able to. If this rule sticks, you're going to see a lot of P.O'd people carrying around blue and pink wool blocks, unable to RP teaching it to read, write, fish, anything you would do with a normal kid. Either that, or they're coming out 10 years old and making absolutely no RP sense.

Not to mention this form of Roleplay is not barred.

I hear that the minimum age limit was dropped to 5 on the cards.

Shatter, it is not 'fixed' in a sense, it is gaining to a better future- we need these all for the up-coming 4.0, which will be soon- with the old system it was simply that it wouldn't of been able to even transfer. These are for the better of LoTC even if you see it as a slight set-back, the future will come swiftly!

As it stands I don't see anything as an improvement rather another path. I can't see the need for such in the future, and the previous system and its ill ability to be transferred is a technical matter, but I assume they could be reworked or have another set of plugins modeled after them.
