Question Of Propriety

*scattered leaflets around the Fringe*

I see war. I see conflict. I see bloodshed.

I wish for a stable life. For a family. For a place I can call home.

I neither have good impressions of the Zionists or the Orenian men, whom both have decided to reside this “problem” with bloodshed, and I can only hope for them to have a strong sense of propriety in order to protect themselves for the guilt that shall come, the realisation of how many families may be broken. Yet I have to question for the need of this conflict, after the years of worry about the seemingly overpowered Scourge, we again have to create a conflict, which very much affects me, simple minded people rather not interfere unless of a direct impact.

I see each group fighting for a cause, the Zionists in name for the people as protection from tyranny, the Orenian men in name of defence of their homeland. Now let me restate my opinion, I rather not interfere unless of direct impact, but I would also enjoy to add I greatly despise when my opinions are being suppressed, the freedom of speech should be a right in our civilised world. More frankly, I would like to say is none of my opinions are being suppressed, neither is any authority pushing my life, property, opinion around. Therefore, it has come to me to wonder, where does this cause to protect people like me from tyranny come from. If I were to be pushed around, by my life, I shall stand up against it, be resilient in every way! But such isn’t the case. If there were truly tyranny in my world lived in the human lands, I would neither believe there shall be men who would stand up to defend there country, we would let those forces who would protect us and guarantee better life to enter our gates. When this tyranny is non-existent, I must say, if another man, another man of another race came to rule, home shall not be home anymore, my life once again would be in turmoil.

So to those Zionists, the people shall call for you when in need. We are not. May those involved in this conflict find true righteousness.

Christopher Volaire sees the leaflets, and tries to contact the writer by spreading his own:

"My heart skips a beat everytime I see torn families, individuals with so much potential being drawn into a war neither of us desire. But it is not a random war, a war that we were uncalled for. We have been opressed, played by Oren like puppets for their own desires. I have seen great families like de Stolistes fall into ashes due to the deep corruption within the Orenian government leading up to even the monarch itself.

We understand that you fight for your own homeland, and we have a perfectioned judgement to see that. But many of the soldiers of Oren, are fighting for an empty cause. A cause that involves the greed of simple-minded people, who are merely given satisfaction in their consumerism as long as they remain loyal. The boundary set for rational thinking, a limit that should not even exist for any mortal, has been set for ages in Oren. Perhaps, our modernized way of thought would never understand the charm behind absolute monarchy, especially ones ruled like yours. The families that are torn in this war will bloom afterwards, under a more compassionate crown who is set for the people, not themselves. For some reason they have set a stereotype that every monarchy fails to deliver to the people, yet the Zionists are the living proof of its contradictionary belief. It is merely a daily dose of propaganda, making all of you think that there is nothing better out there.

There is, something better out there. Only your limited minds have to adapt to the potential of liberty, to embrace it.

Aside one of the many leaflets, a small parchment has been nailed to a nearby noticeboard.

"To the writer of this leaflet,

You may well be correct that King Heinrik does not bear down upon his own people as often as you may have once believed. However, it is his actions towards the elven, orcish and dwarven races that have left him facing such heavy opposition. Those who he has seen fit to deem inferior to his own kind. We fight this war to show him that we will not stand for such disdain any longer. Whether the rest of humanity deems it righteousness or not, you must see that our cause is indeed just. With a ruler of greater moral sense, Oren would not face such a threat as you see today and thus this war would be over.

Do not make the fatal error of turning an eye to the events beyond Oren's borders. Only together can we truly stand against the Black Scourge. Yet while King Heinrik remains in power, all hope is truly lost."
