Mali'aheral and Mali'laurir are both cultural references so really those who voted Mali'laurir might not even be that.

There are Mali'aheral who are those in Haelun'or following a cultural standard.

Mali'laurir share similarities but don't necessarily live in Haelun'or and are about being integrated with other races.

Then there are just High Elves which at this point don't have a name like Mali'ame or mail'ker. Those being generic and or impure. Something along those lines

Then there is even a small sect started ICly by my character that call themselves Mali'aeth'onn which are Mali'aheral with certain characteristics and personalities which is basically just Iat and his wife. Lol

So yeah, the wood elven and dark elven(they are tied on this poll) population has been very scattered since leanniel was sacked. We've been trying to build a community around the druid area in the fringe, but it seems like a lot of people are still off playing Alts from the small Leannielen exodus.

Hey, I've been playing Art amnesimec again lately >:I

I think the server lacks wood elves and what I think used to be a majority wood elves is now very little. Is this because the conclave no longer builds with wood but rather almost all stone? I am not sure but it seems the overall tendencies of the elven nation that I thought would be more passive and accepting of any elf (sort of a place of all new elves to go) are instead leaning towards another war nation while the high elven nation is becoming more open. Is this a bad thing? Is breaking out of the norm going to make new players not want to join? Is part of the draw of being a "regular" elf have to do with living in trees?

I agree that the relative militarization of the Conclave might be a factor for many of our Elves leaving for other nations such as Alras or Haelun'or. With all the attention we've given to the Oren war I suppose we've neglected to improve domestically, leaving a bit of a hole where our fun Elven RP should be. As for our architecture: living in plants is gross. Our current style is clean, fashionable, and free of the awkward geometry of living inside a xylem. It's quite hard to plan a city where the main living arrangements are hard-to-mass-produce trees. However, we're currently building more and more houses of varying sizes, all of them to be given to Elves who meet the caste requirements for each size class of house.

I am interested to know where all the "None of the above" Elves live.

Some of the None of the Above Elves live in Lindale, the Mali'fenn city.

I don't think there is a strong pull for people to be wood elves, if there was there would be more wood elves.  We have been nature elves for about two years and the numbers have gone for the most part gone done(A recent uphill trend) It's good they're trying something new now instead of the same thing as Anthos, Asulon, and Aegis. I am all for a city instead of this forest-city hybrid that has been done over and over again.

I think people who search out for nature rp, don't do so by joining the elves, they just go straight to the druids and linger with them. In fact I've been with the mainstream elven populace since Aegis, expect more my brief times at Menocress & Silvia Insula & Healun'or, and nature has hardly been even where near the focus of rp(Sadly the main focus has been survival and conflict that had not been instigated by elves). It has only been there because 1) lore tells us to 2) It's the way it's always been.  During the times of Auslon and anthos, anyone who wanted this nature rp would not try create it within the elves, they would go to the druids.

I think they're made into this war nation you mention, because they have been forced to act like that. Elves are constantly fighting battles that are directed at them, yet they had no hand in starting at all. IE, you can't have peaceful elves with violence thrown at them all the time.

So again, I really hope you do something different for 4.0. I don't see a large demand for super nature elves, so don't give it.(Why would you give something that people don't want or really embrace? Replace nature with something else that people will embrace, yet do keep aspects of nature) Make a beautiful Rivendell like build, instead of these giant tree house cities that cannot be defended or utilized at all. Don't do the same build as Aegis, Asulon, and Anthos. I am personally completely tired of living in a tree, so please give me a stone floor.

I can assure you plans for most of the elves in the 4.0 are not only different but are really exciting from what I have seen, built and talked about with them.

I assume it's similar to the plans that were previously held by the HC(As the conclave leaders was a prince once). I am really glad they have taken this route instead of the same thing

You're right though, there has been a lack of wood elves for a long time. I think if artimec and bird continue doing what they're doing, they will get a nice wood elf culture ironed out. Took about a year and a half for the dark elves to finial get something, and it has proven fruitful. Hopefully with hard work the barkies can get something similar.

-snip-

It's simply a style preference, both ic and ooc. I never said the normal buildings were gross, they just don't appeal to my character. If the majority of your citizens like it that's great, I'm simply explaining why a lot of wood elves don't want to live there.

I want to know the number of dark elves in haelun'or, I know there is a large handful, about at most a 1/4. Oh and some snarkie add Drez Mizziyrn to that google doc.

I cant even find an elven town to live in. I am a dark elf but ive searched a good portion of the map and only 1 wood elf town but they wont let me in. it seems humans and dwarves (especially dwarves) are quite popular and only high elves and wood elves are what ive seen for elves

The Dark Elven city is right on the other side of the High Elven one.

It's being built now, but you should be able to be let in ;3
