Actual War Feedback

 Share

Recommended Posts

I want to give some feedback on the war. Why did i wait to long ? Well look at the megathread.

I want to keep this short but hope to spark a discussion on the ideas presented.

1) Less dominating PVP

These battles are nice and all. But the stakes are too high and are degrading the state of our RP.

Because the stakes are so high people get way too emotional over a videogame. And there is a massive outcry after a battle, i know this is the less mature of the factions showing and alot are quiet but battles need work. We can't turn back from where we are so we need to work on better FactionPVP rules.

I propose a weekly battle event between factions where land is untouchable but the spoils are stacks of iron and such. I want to remind everybody that we are a Community, and we should we a closeknit group of people coming together to have fun. Not to spout sh*t at eachother and win the game.

2) RPPVP battles,

What happened before the battle was awful to say the least. To name a few i saw prays to Allah and arrows at random.

I propose that before the chargesign is given by GMs we are in a state of pure RP.

That means complete roleplay, no random arrows , nobody running acros the battlefield at random.

If we can manage this we can have little rpevents like the kings meeting up and armies lining up closer at the start. Maybe even some silence while the kings talk. If people can't follow these rules they get benched. Because if you can't behave before the battle you shouldn't participate. This may sound like treating a kid but thats what i saw, childish behavior.

3) Post-PVP event

Have an event where both parties come together afterwards, this can even happen in TS to have fun and talk about the battle. This calms everybody down and reinforces the idea of a community.

4) expanding the battle idea

I talked about pvping nations in this post, but a monthly event where the factions work together against a common enemy would be great. If a group of people make a dungeon and antags/harbingers/genericenemy take hold and we siege them.

I put these ideas in order of importance, but i believe this will make 4.0 a fun world.

If you want to talk about an idea presented mention the number and your opinion because quoting will become a cluster of text. Also to whom it matters i am a Dwarf. And this shouldn't be said but refrain from derialing the thread .

I couldn't agree more. but the problem is, is that certain factions have these uncapable leaders representing them. I liked how on my previous RP servers we actually gave eachother great ideas to do, and we actually had staged accidents like a bridge collapsing and kings indeed lining up and talking diplomacy before the war, only to afterwards talk on skype how good it went and how it could go better.

Those servers closed due the fact that this server had drawn the spotlight, but I honestly believe that the staff, and certain parts of the community, should pull the stick out of their *rse and actually see the bare truth that our concept is failing. If only the staff would take this seriously in a manner that they brainstorm regarding it, cuz the stories I hear? Say much much different.

Anyways, +1 mos amigos

I agree with this. We also need more restriction on ooc and trolley rp. People do it because they dont get scolded for such..

In my honest opinion, GMs need to put their foot down with shouting during battles. "Stay in character at all times" IS a rule, and while toeing the gray area can be fun and lead to a good laugh now and then, going so far overboard so often as has happened in a lot of recent battle really becomes more of an issue than a joke. Don't let the community walk all over you guys, with something as essential as this in a RP server, it NEEDS to be enforced.

@Draeris

I don't think calling out the staff will get us any further if we want to see this community thrive, we have to work with the staff.

The only way we can improve is if we give them good feedback, because they can't fix what they don't know.

At first I thought you were suggesting emote battles, but now I know what you're talking about this is a sweet idea.

Heres my input for the war

Less bitching and moaning and stop the one-sided 10+ raids a day

Orcs, we can raid you 10+ times a day too thing is there will be a ban report by the time the 1st one is over.

You need mature and intelligent leaders to set the standard and honestly I laugh when children shout "Allahu Akbar" in TS3.

Battles are going to be onesided at peak times.. Dwarves have a large player base when war time is around and same with Orcs, combined with what other allies they have it's essentially Oren vs World. That with the fact they did an open flatland battle just means they will get pushed into a corner and killed.. Once forts are made if they have the right battle plan they can win easily. Sieges always kill a ton of attackers. Want to stop some of the ooc rage-fest? Have more than one gm overlooking a battle and actually go in ts to check who is alive still in the battle before declaring a winner. Also stop with the global announcements of one side 'devastating' the other and blah blah.. War starts with horns and battle-cries and end in victory defeat or stalemate, needn't say one side curb-stomping the other that is just bothersome.

That's my 2 cents if Canada still used pennies, pce l8.

There is a reason why people shout out Allah Akbar and act like that, but I can't really say because I will get banned for not being politically correct.

Oh do you mean because that's what terrorists shout before lobbing a guy's head off or exploding?

Doesn't it just mean god is great or something?

Mmm, I wonder if that is too close of a connection to the real world to be appropriate though. Unfortunately, the phrase as taken on a political, and generally negative, connotation.
