Even though the Volaires did not really mind the Colins betraying Alras, seeing how they were treated like Iblees preachers when they warned the council. But what they have done now... Claiming Festinian land as Oren land? In the next morning, a letter is send to the Colins. Dear Adarin Colin, I admire your loyalty to the privilege of being a High Guard, seeing how you have shown the ultimate sacrifice by protecting Alras & Festina from yourself. Alas, I do not think you are even worth my time for writing this letter, I cannot express my confusion about the desperate attempts made by your house to be respected. I believe that as leading representative of House Colin you should be responsible for your community to not allow them to do such things. Also, you brought tears to my daughter by breaking the holy oath of marriage, which I will not take lightly. You have also claimed our land you would have illegaly 'bought' from our villages for Oren, which is an apparent Casus Belli. Depart from 'your' lands with utmost haste, or Festina will have to take serious action. We do not want violence, especially if such diplomatic failure can easily be solved by you leaving, however we will not hesitate to use force if the need arises. "I do not speak for Adarin Colin, but I will speak for my bannermen, I will speak for my peers when we can agree you are the lowest of the lowest. We have claimed the lands for the Holy Empire of Oren that God may dwell in these lands, and his Will be delivered. But you dare rise up against such actions? The rest of Alras has not responded with the nerve you have in this letter. Do you declare warfare on the state? Our lands are very from away from Alras, and frankly, they would not wage war on such a tiny piece of land when we urged for friendship. So let me make this clear to you, Festinians. Do come to our gates, and attack. You will be repelled. You will be driven back. Your homes and crops will be burned down, and the Colins will have no sympathy for backstabbing little runts like you. As a noble house of Oren, such attacks will not only be seen as a threat to the Colins but to the sovereignty of the Holy Empire. You will be put down. Lothar thinks the same thing, wondering why the continued presence of a heretical, Aeriel-worshipping realm populated by self-dubbed 'nobility' is permitted by Oren. Christopher does not know why they keep being negative and make untrue assumptions towards his community, she shrugs. He drops to one knee and hands him a letter, detailing the events and current proceedings with House Colins and Alras. Reading over them, he releases a heavy sigh and pinches the bridge of his nose. "Courier, take a letter." He states in an old and tired voice. He begins to speak: Dearest House Volaire, It had come to my understanding- or so the Colins people had informed me- that Alras was aware of their 'defection' to Oren. In taking the Colin's Oath, I had thought they had already sorted out these matters with the lieges that had ruled over them. Forgive my ignorance on this matter. If the Colins family had not relinquished their former responsibilities and oaths, then I do not recognize their own oath and fealty to Oren. Why does the word honey create assumptions that I pretend to be a rich american dowager? Its merely a word I use which you apparently feel offended by. There is no reason to gain publicity by playing superior and haunting such post with random assumptions and then fixating on one word so that you gain more reputation and respect by your circles. If you don't like my word usage towards you because you get.. for example such ideas out of it, you can always PM me and ask me in atleast a polite or normal manner wether I could stop with it or not.}} Christopher reaches such letter, opening it as he reads. He sends a reply "To your majesty, Peter Chivay, emperor of Imperial Oren. Thank you for replying to the letter send in such short notice, I do appriciate the involvement. The Alrasian government did not seem to be aware of their defect, nor did they release a statement saying that it was organized and settled. Besides that fact, without our consent, they have taken land from Festina's villages while claiming to have bought them. If this was a misunderstanding of borders from their part, I would not make a relevant problem out of it if they depart and accept that misunderstanding. Right now, according to themselves, they would give our land to Oren. Such being seen as an act of hostility if not explained or withdrawn. Or said in a simplified manner; An invasion. While I did mean no threat to Imperial Oren as I, Christopher Volaire, monarch of the vassal kingdom of Festina, have no rights to declare war on a sovereign nation as a whole, nor do I consider House Colin a sovereign part of Oren yet. I do hope you understand that our sovereign and gained land is not something we would want to lose invalidly. With royal regards, Christopher Volaire.
