This is the original post that i am reviving with a new perspective.

((As magic is still being worked on this is still speculative but from what i've gathered so far is that for humans, elfs, and dwarfs magic is an "ability" that any of these races and their subsequent sub-races will be able to use-granted the user has completed the pre-defined requirements. Now to da Orcs. Orcs have a sub-race of Shaman, who will be the only potential magic users. Myself and many others feel that this should be changed. MojoKronic pointed out in the previous post on sub-races that this would be like making the Rex(or a King) a subclass. Not to call you out as you are a valued member of our community, but Lexperiments is an awesome Dwarf Shaman. Couldn't this mean that I then could be a Goblin Shaman? Having Shaman as a sub-race will conflict with other rpers like Lex. Every Orc i have spoken to about this wants another subrace and a top runner is the Troll. Craotor has already come up with extensive and interesting lore for the Trolls including a prime spot for a Troll village. I now ask you here fellow Orc...and Lex:D...would you welcome the removal of Shaman as a sub-race to being a title like "mage" and in its' place be a new "true" sub-race such as the troll or another type of orc? I feel this would make it better for the Orc rp experience. I do not know exactly what the best way to bring this up to Availer would be. any suggestions on a new orc sub-race? Thanks all for your time! one last thing here are three reasons to have Shaman as a class and not a sub-race))

1. All other races have to go through special training to become mages, druids..etc. as well as having to be good rpers. All other races have special groups one must become affiliated with to possess these titles whereas shaman have no active leaders or schools and are mostly without leadership and not having fun with their rp.

2. By making Shaman a sub-race, it makes anyone allowed to become one greatly "watering down" the title. Shaman are supposed to be the few highly regarded orc (and lex :D)who pass all the trials to become one.

3. Without magic yet, making Shaman a sub-race dooms all those Shaman who will never get it considering it becomes a thing one must

pass steps for ie. apply for.

I don't like our current sub-races. Orcs shouldn't be so restricted, so black and white compared to the other races. I've only played for a few days but I'm tired of having players ((correct)) me on my variant of broken english that I choose to role-play with.

Orcs are orcs. We're not goblins or trolls. A "nomad" warrior should have just as much opportunity to learn magic as a "shaman", provided that he sacrifices some of his combat prowess and plays the part. Not all nomads are dumbass grunts and it's not so groundbreaking to have warrior shaman that started out as groundpounders. If every nomad plays a xenophobic moron, and every shaman plays a well-spoken wise man, and all goblins tinker with stuff, that makes for a very boring role-playing experience. Shaman's ought to be standard orcs that earn their magical abilities through role-play rather than just choosing it as a subclass.

If magic is to be available to the other races in such a way, orcs ought to have it as an option as well. Give us 2-3 sub-classes that have no real, ultimate bearing on our profession (Desert Orcs, Swamp/Forest Orcs, Mountain Orcs, whatever), then have goblins and trolls filed in as well (if it's easier to keep it like that rather than create two new races.)

And yeah, Trolls, totally. I would have played as a troll if it were an option.

OOC: I agree with Yahgy one hundred percent.

I can not see what might be a problem to make this happen.

About the Trolls,

I almost feel that the breed orcs could be called the Greenskins or such. Cause IF both the Trolls and Goblins could be a sub-race, there will be three different "races". Just an idea, but this will probably not happen ^.^

You have already convinced me in teamspeak and i like your lore behind it, that may not be here but you got a strong point with Shamans. But what about Nomads, because they aren't really something anybody wants to be...

((Aye nomads supposed to be like orgres i heard although they are described as "the kinder orc" which i don't understand, i would also like either a different description for da Nomad or a different sub-race for them also. this post was mainly to get people talking and to get feedback so thx for adding Eltyer. We will need a strong base to form a new opinion on what we all really want.))

The description of nomads makes them sound like the brute, warrior class of orcs while the shaman are sort've the elder/priest variety. I'd rather see orcs just be orcs, remove shaman and nomad classes and add trolls. This gives three races for more variety without limiting them to a certain profession. Orcs, goblins and trolls could all potentially become shaman or warriors depending on their role-play and what they choose to specialize in. Orcs and trolls would start out with warrior stats, goblins would get tinkerer stats, etc.

Well in most lores there are more civilized orcs. The greenskin idea has merit considering tht is what my dwarf calls them anyways.

Lore-wise, maybe Trolls and Goblins could be descendants of the sons of Krug, assuming he had sons. I'd like to see some more minor deities sprout up.

((I agree, if it stays this way, the Orcs will have a strong disadvantage compared to the other races. Tying magic to a subrace is a terrible idea, what were they thinking?))
