Why Do You Hate Forest Dwarves?

I would like the community's thoughts on the Forest Dwarf subrace. Instead of a poll with a thousand questions and check boxes, just share your opinion in whatever way you want. Consider the following questions, if you need some guidelines:

 

• Why do you personally dislike the Forest Dwarf subrace, and why do you choose not to make a Forest Dwarf character?
• What are some traits that you generally dislike or turn you off to the subrace?
• Is there anything in particular that you do like about Forest Dwarves, or do we just suck at everything?

I have not seen any forest dwarves outside the druids so to me they are just druids with accents.

 

If there was a small section of the dwarven city that had forest dwarf architecture it might make them more appealing. Actually I have no clue what their architecture would be. The subrace to me doesn't feel fleshed out enough.

• I don't dislike Forest Dwarves, I simply don't role play one
• I think they're rather unique as a Dwarven sub-race, it's a shame not a lot of players play them

That likely would not happen, as us normal dorves have more or less shunned all forest dwarves due to their religion, since most of them are druids and do not worship the Brathmordakin. At least, I'm 99% sure that's why.

 

Anyhoo, I don't really see a lot of you guys around. I've never had the chance to RP with one, but you guys seem pretty cool I guess. :)

I strongly agree that the Forest Dwarves need to be less associated with the Druids in general, however Druidism is a very respected path in their eyes. Most (active) Forest Dwarves are or have been Druids, which is pretty much why all Forest Dwarves are thought of as nonbelievers in the Brathmodrakin.

Nobody hates them out of character, there just... aren't any. It doesn't occur to people to play them because you don't see many of them around.

I must say, if Forest-Dwarves wished to be better, they should've done something to make themselves appealing. To be honest, I've not seen any non-druid forest dwarves, so I just think they're traveling hippies who join the druidic order. Perhaps, if you guys recruited more, you'd be a more interesting sub-race.

I don't dislike the Forest Dwarves, I like them. However, they should be a part of the Dwarven Nation. I'm hoping to find a way to keep you with the nation of Urguan (for instance, propose to put the Treebeard clan in charge of food supplies, wood etc).

I don't like them very much. Each race has there own immersion or emotion of sorts, and forest dwarves just seem un-atmospheric to me. When I picture dwarves, I don't imagine them in trees. My dumb opinion shouldn't stop anyone from playing that race though, thats just why I don't have any interest in RP'ing the sub-race.

Yeah, playerbase has always been a major issue of ours, and I'm trying to do something about that. I agree with the majority of the feedback here and it's only going to help, so keep it coming!

Nah I liked them just the people who have hated you in the past, KJELL, have made a big impression on the dwarves today making them hate elves and tree-huggers. I as a dwarf would always respect my brother of stone-tree. We are all from urguan icly so dwarves should deal with other dwarves taking different paths. I think there is a lot of ooc problems with the dwarves currently, like getting everything done oocly and ranks given out through ts rather then with ic actions. Not all the time tbh. Ironguts have been hated on icly and oocly cause of choice to use magic and pray to aerial which is one of the brathmorakin.

 

To be a dwarf you need thick skin in TS and to ignore the dumbshits idly
