History

 

The origins of Clan Keizer begin along the side of Harren, the father of the Adunian people. Gerhard was the first to be called a member of Clan Keizer. He was a brutish man, carrying a demeaning stature, with some legends stating that he was the height of a bear. He was adorned with dark, long brown hair with a messy and thick beard. These attributes together gave him the common nickname of “The Bear” which he styled himself with.  

In his early years, Gerhard swore his sword to Harren and to serve him for the entirety of his life, creating a lasting friendship between the two for the years to come. As Harren’s power grew, Gerhard stuck by his side, aiding Harren as his top commander. However, there was another tribe among the Northerners that contested with Harrens, which were composed of primarily elves. Eventually, tensions grew and over time war broke out between the two Northern tribes. A short, but bloody war ensued which ended in an uneasy peace between the two tribes. Not seeing the peace to last for long, Harren married the female leader of the elven tribe, uniting the two tribes. At first Gerhard was uneasy with the idea, but Gerhard was close friends with Harren and held high trust in him. Knowing that he could believe in Harren’s decision, he was among the first of the human tribe to court a member of the elven tribe. He chose a fair eyed and dark haired female elf, by the name of Aegwen. Over time, they grew fond of each other and were wed, bearing three children. After Harren was slain by his son Baren as to become leader, Gerhard immediately fell into depression and soon died after deteriorating health.

Ulrich was similar in all attributes to his father, except for his eyes, which were fair colored as his mother’s were.  He created a lasting relationship with Harren’s eldest son, Baren, as his father had done with Harren. They were almost nearly inseparable and acted as though they were brothers to each other.

Ulrich passed away and the eldest of his children, Thaddeus, took control of the family. He took after the same looks as his father and grandfather had, but held onto the lasting fair-colored eyes as his father had.  Thaddeus did not grow akin to the Heir of Baren, Orlandir, as his forefathers had become so many years before. From a young age, they were bitter sweet rivals. They held dear to them the friendships of their clans and respected one another for their abilities, but were always at odds with each other.  When Orlandir became King of Fai O'Thuaid as his power grew, he made Thaddeus his High Thane, knowing the great ability of his family. Over time, their friendship became more and more strained as differences arose in the way the Kingdom should head.

By the time Thaddeus’ son, Wolfhart took control of the clan, Orlandir and Thaddeus’ relationship was severely strained. Still knowing the capability of the clans members, he made Wolfhart the High Marshal of his council for a brief time until he passed away. Arendil, Orlandir’s heir and the new King of Fai O'Thuaid, carried on the severed relations that were already there and kicked Wolfhart from his spot on the council. Distraught by this he began to muster support of the clans and people that followed his clan closely. A few months before the slaying of Arendil by Owen Godwinson, he took these followers and left Idunia to make it on their own. Some rumors went on to say that in the search for revenge, Wolfhart helped to conspire in the death of Arendil. However, no one truly knows as Wolfhart led his people far away from Idunia with no contact.

Little to no records of what happened after Wolfhart had left were written or kept track of. Slowly, the people Wolfhart had brought together, splintered from each other as generations went on and became smaller and weaker.

Eventually, a man by the name of Otto Keizer, a direct descendant of Gerhard and true Chief of Clan Keizer, sought to reunite the people Wolfhart had led away from Idunia. With a small smattering of united people and clans that had once been together, along with the followers Clan Keizer still had, he voyaged across Anthos in order to seek out his forefathers followers. Otto eventually died and his son Otto II took over and continued on his father’s quest without little to success.

Otto’s grandson, Wilhelm, had a different goal when he became leader of Clan Keizer. He decided that it was time for his followers to once more unite with his Adunian kin. Finally finding a small settlement in the Fringe of what was left of the Adunian people, Wilhelm swore to bring greatness back to Adunia. He quickly overthrew the illegitimate Lord of Adunia, installing himself as High Thane, and fervently began the restoration of Adunia. With the help of Throrenir Elendil, he sought out Harrion Elendil, the true heir, to place as Lord of Adunia. At the moment, Wilhelm is High Thane under Lord Harrion Elendil.

 

 

Characteristics

 

 

Keizers tend to take after their first member, Gerhard Keizer with dark colored hair and beard along with a large stature. However, most also have fair-colored eyes as Gerhard’s son, Ulrich had taken from his mother.

Keizers have a tendency to have a warrior-minded prerogative. Taking the life of a warrior has a high standard among the clan; members are trained from a young age to be strong in the body and mind. However, one should never doubt the mental capabilities of a Keizer as they can be competent diplomats as well. They can also be quick to judgment, sometimes brash when decisions must be made.
