Warcraft Nations [Interest/ideas]

The Caverns of Time. Tended by the Bronze Dragonflight, these eldritch gateways to times gone by and times yet to come swim with not only certainty but probability. Travelers and heroes who have braved the caverns have spoken of many strange and unfamiliar worlds - places where the Horde never invaded in the First War, places where the good king Arthas Menethil, ruled his people with valor and dignity, of an Azeroth conquered and laid waste to by the might of the Burning Legion...

Though these probable worlds are separate from our own... their stories are no less fraught with blood and glory.

Hey. Basic premise, is Warcraft nation RP. I've got a nice system figured out, I just need to gauge interest and work out a time period. The paragraph above basically gives us carte blanche lore wise to create whatever weird ass Warcraft world we want. Here are a couple of ideas for settings:

  • WoW Era - Familiar to everyone, but it would mean that in all likelihood players would be stratified between Horde and Alliance factions. We could subvert this of course and have the Horde and Alliance split into their constituent parts.

  • WC3 Era - Its the eve of the Burning Legion invasion. Arthas is still a goody two shoes paladin, Thrall's dreaming of setting sail on the human's own ships and the Night Elves are nice and content with beating the ever loving shite out of any centaurs who go past the tree-line. Plenty of stuff to go with in this era, factions could include Orc Horde, various human nations (New Stormwind, Gilneas, Lordaeron etc), the nascent Scourge and of course the Burning Legion.

  • WC2 Era - The Eastern Kingdoms is split between the Horde in the south and the Alliance, headed by Lordaeron, Ironforge and Quel'Thalas in the north. No Kalimdor, but plenty of small factions and intrigue, as well as forays through the Dark Portal to the pre-floaty islands Outland.

  • WC Era - Orcs come, Orcs kick ass. Alliance versus Orcs, with plenty of little factions and inter-Alliance warfare. Again, no Kalimdor.

  • WC Custom - A gloriously nonsensical mix of all the above. Details can be worked out later, but one can easily imagine Centaur kingdoms, Troll Empires, the An'Qiraj and more being more prominent here if you want, not that you can't play as them in the other settings.

Possible Factions

A general list of possible factions, not tied to a specific era.

  • Human Kingdoms
  • Dwarves
  • Gnomes
  • Quel'Thalas
  • Orc Horde
  • Troll Empires
  • Tauren
  • Undead Scourge/Forsaken
  • Night Elves
  • Centaurs
  • Naga
  • An'Qiraj
  • Old God stuffs
  • Burning Legion
  • Ogres
  • Nerubians (non-Undead)
  • Pandarens

Basically, this is just an interest check and to see if anyone has any ideas on setting.

WC3 Era would be nice, but personally I would prefer a Frozen Throne era if that was available.

Hells yes I would want to join this, I have played WC2, WC3, and WoW, though I would like to do the custom, or what ever one will allow me to control the Troll Empire!  I so want to do this rp right now, I am ecstatic for it!

WC3 Human: Gilneas please!

Also, if early enough, would High Elves become a faction? Also, no blood elves!? They are in WC3 too!

And for Orcs, will the Blackrock be a seperate faction? Same for Dark Iron?

I would think that Dark Iron would be with the Wildhammers, and Bronzebeards, due to them not having the war yet, I don't think, plus I think he just rattled off a few nations/factions/groups that he knew off of his head.  But defiantly very good points non the less.

Blood Elves aren't in the base WC3 game, they're in the Frozen Throne expansion

Which is why I wanted a Frozen Throne option, as it would include most of the WC3 factions as well as adding a lot more (Forsaken, Blood Elves, Naga, Nerubians, Pandaren etc.)
