A Broken Mind

Walking around the fringe you stumble across an old shack. Curiosity overcomes your suspicions and you duck through the fallen opening. Inside you see what was once a well bound and sturdy book. Will you read it?

Before I lose memory of my insanity, I have decided to write down the explanation I have come up with for my disease as well as how it progressed.

The disease began shortly after a battle,at first it was just whispers. All night and all day, vague whispers. Quickly this changed, the whispers became infuriating voices. Why didn't you save them, Alirya? Why couldn't you kill him, Alirya? Why did you shoot your husband, Alirya? All I will say about the last one is that I don't recognize voices very well.

Eventually the members of the guild I was in began to notice my odd behavior. I remember them trying to convince me that I was insane, but by then the disease had really taken hold. So badly I thought I had twins  and that undead beast were out to get me.

The years leading after are a blur to me, fear and paranoia are the only things I can "remember". I do remember rejoining the druidic guild, I think they may have helped but I am not sure. Also during this time I had two people talking and walking with me. Filou and Azus, they were not real of course. Filou always wore odd face paint, painting one side of her face blue and the other black she also stained her teeth red. Azus reminded me of an old human guard, no one in particular. Their personalities were completely different, Filou enjoying chaos and torture(me being her favorite subject) while Azus was more calm and enjoyed strict order. Later on I came to realize these two were representations of my own desires.

Some years later I became a druid, undoubtedly the connection to the world aided me. After all, I was doubting every day if I was real. I eventually found peace with my voices, allowing them to help me make decisions. It was still hard to please the two without punishment following, even with a compromise. One of the few compromises I remember was being able to set fire and commit other crimes but I could not kill.

A short time after I became attuned I left the druidic order (possibly one of the greatest mistakes I have made in the list of all my stupid decisions) and joined the Teutonic order. At this point in time Filou and Azus just kind of lazed about, save for the  heated discussions we would have my room about who stole the cookies. My time in the Teutonic order certainly took a toll on my mind as I heard both whispers and my current specters.

Thankfully I was able to receive help from one of the kindest people I know. I still don't know how to thank that woman for the brief relief she gave me from those hideous beings.

Despite Resia's help I still m-----ed to acquire a third voice.A real p---on, (large splotch of faint ink)  murdered. I ha--d her, I hated her the most. She

The last paragraph is slurred together, the author didn't seem to enjoy writing it

It just got worse, I eventually saw the two boys I'm still not sure were real. Malkeethe would ask me I was hurting someone, joining in with Elsywen. I was constantly tormented by then, so badly I nearly took my life. I just wanted them to stop. The world ended

Theodosius Visconti reads the book, chucking it into a nearby lake. He makes the statement "I haven't need for folks who pretend the illusion of sanity and insanity, logic and the laws of the universe prevail over insignificant people trying to draw attention to themselves".

Cyrus would pick up the book and flip through it for a few moments, before saying "Curious" and leaving the book behind on the table.

Zephyr reads the book, his face confused.

"...Alirya...? It can't be the same.. no.. no, it can't be the same Alirya... I - I'll ask her."

A green, hunched and robed figure would walk past. He reads through the book, his ragged cowl drooping over his face as he frowns. A sigh escapes his lips, and he sets the book down, murmuring,

"Only a matter of time, after all..."

He shakes his head slightly, sighing once more as he continues on his pathless journey.

*As Naffog reads through the ruined book, a slight frown forms on his face. He removes his hood, mutters a prayer, and leaves an apple atop the book before departing from the shack.*

Notes that the book was already tossed into a river.
