A Question Of Lore Regarding "automatons"

Is there any lore behind Iron Golems (or rather, automatons as they are commonly referred as)? There used to be a bunch in Kal'Arkon, walking around and killing mobs within the city, but I am not sure whether they were valid lore-wise to begin with. I was thinking of re-introducing them.

Golems can't be made from Iron. So they're not Iron Golems if that's what you wanted to know.

No, of that I am aware of. But in that case, what were those automatons in the first place?

Well im sure we can make lore on them. We never really introduced them that much cause we have "golems" in a sense

I wish to add at this point that Silus Iullius Horen has actually built functional golems of steel and other metals. In a sense Automatons.

The runic technology of golems only works on stone, iron golems are not possible. Silus Horen's work in a different way which is how metal is used in their construction.

 

The "security" golems in Arkon were likely stone ones in character.
