My acerbic reply is only because your question is quite loaded. Of course I believe this is an RP server. However, I believe that raiding causes OOC hate and is not conducive to a proper server mindset. I think constant raiding is toxic, and the fact that moderators have been forced to step in and stop mass Minecraft PvP is frustrating to me, and I am sure it is frustrating to others. I understand that you enjoy raiding, but others don't. We don't force you to participate in RP that you dislike.

The fact that we raid the high elven city only once and get in, and they start bitching is awfully annoying, elgus bitching their way out. Regardless however, the fights (mostly between dwarves and Oren, with the exception of the one successful raid on the high elves) are out of hand, but don't be so quick to put something like this up if only one successful attack is lead on your city.

You and I stand on the same page for the text in green. Raiding IS and important part of our server. PvP and Mechanical RP are just as important as the 100% text RP people. However, if someone feels bullied or upset or that their fun is being removed, isn't it common decency to dial down the raiding? The outside world will ALWAYS affect the inside world of LotC, and I like it that way. If people are upset with a mechanic of the server, it should be changed.

I was under the impression that a lot of the Human and Dwarf players were enjoying themselves.

With the occasional fit of butthurt from both sides respectively.

If you remove raids, war will have a more meaningful impact. If you keep raids, why will people war? What can they do with war that they cannot do with raids (that they like)? If you maintain a balance (like that tempting 1 week cooldown for raids), you keep everyone happy. If players start complaining that the restrictions should be removed, add more or ignore them. It's not an option, and they're not precisely being positive for the server on the long-run.

Sincerely, all I've seen is players bitching that the raids are too restricted, and the staff being abused (yes, there is such thing) because they don't want to seem like they don't care about the community because, then, a lot of players will ***** at them and claim they're abusing their power and not listening to the playerbase. However, they wouldn't be doing wrong by not listening to those who keep asking for less and less restrictions. They would be doing their job and moderating, since that part of the community can't seem to moderate themselves. You don't go around asking "Hey, want me to moderate this?". You do it. If we went around asking or complying with everyone who asks for less laws and less rules, or less restrictions, they would end up having their way and everything would go to hell.

 

Moderators were chosen because the players and the staff trust them to do their job, as well as the Admins. If they add restrictions, it's for a reason. You don't argue with the law enforcement team unless it's obvious their laws are unfair. The restrictions were not unfair.

but seriously lay the **** off let people rp how they want to rp lol leave raids alone and keep ooc out of rp. if people want to raid a lot then let them and if you think you can tell them "only do this once a week" well i say who the hell do you think you are? this is supposed to be a game not a huge circlejerk on how to reduce the hurt on peoples e-feelings and how to shelter m-muh immersions

I can sort of agree with the raids being a nuisance with what I have experienced and seen so far. If you would be at war you would not raid the heart of the nations, honestly you would have campaigns and battlefields. Doesn't make any sense with what I have seen, videos and posts about nation capitals being taken by either side and then simply left be, over and over. Doing these raids can't possibly contribute well to the actual war role-play and simply causes threads like this to appear. If you raid a settlement there would be permanent damage done there, but raids to me from what I have seen thus far seems to just be a medium to release the urge to fight someone or get the momentarily feeling of superiority which in return leads to out of character bickering and taunts saying "We are better." and it goes goes downhill from there. Nothing good comes out of it and honestly seems like it is not even an out of character war at all.

You seem to have missed the significant number of White Rose posts saying that this is getting out of hand and please can we get the war organised?

 

It's funny how you're all complaining about OOC walls when you're using the consensual war rules to prevent Oren from meaningfully attacking you.
