Orcish Flag

I spent a while learning how to make flags in Photoshop and I managed to make this Orc themed flag.

I know it's not perfect but I'd love some feedback! At some point I could start making flags for other nations/clans, if there is any interest.

That looks great, love the ripples and rips in the flag. I'd suggest making it a little longer and having the scorpion in the middle of that longer flag though, otherwise it looks a tad square.

Smooth the Edges. The pixelation around the edges looks a bit rough. Depending on your program, you probably have a 1 click fix for it.

Even though I'm totally not an orc, it looks pretty neat. Would do what Raptor said, make the flag itself a little longer, aand do something with the top bit so it doesn't look so straight.

On it, thank you Raptor! Shouldn't take too long.

Temp, I should be able to fix that with a blur or just a smoother tool, thanks!

Hopefully you take this as constructive. :P

First thing I notice is a bit of white in the top left, make sure to clean up the edges a bit.

Next thing, depending on what you're going for exactly, texture for the fabric (even just lightly) would give it more of a realistic feel to it.

If you edit the layer style(s) of it, you can add an inner glow, turn the colour to black, and set the overlay option to multiply. This'll give it a nice darkened contour around the edges.

At the top, you might want to add a bit of white to make it seem like it's curling back at the top.

For the colour of the entire thing, due to it being all ripped up, you might want it to be sun-bathed as well. Look up some "Old Paper Texture"s and put them on a new layer. Right click them and set them to layer clipping mask to get it to only apply it to the flag itself (so you don't have to cut it up), and set it to overlay as well. It'll give it a nice hue change that varies through the entire thing.

The rips are neat, but too uniform. Make some at the bottom go deeper, some stay at that height.

EDIT: You also might want to add some tears in the middle of it too.

Again, hopefully you take it as constructive. It's quite good, though! Keep it up! ^_^

EDIT: Also, another thing I thought of, next time you do a tear or something along these lines, you might want to consider making it a layer mask instead so that you don't get rough edges, and you keep the original as just the colour of it.

Last thing, if you are confused on any terms used, just google them, they're the ones used in Photoshop, so you should be able to find a tutorial on them if need be.

I'll start working on what you said Korvic, I think I've got the main jist of how to do all the overlay stuff. Thanks! :D
