A Proposal For A Magic Team

 Share

Are they really being regulated? People wander in groups of two's and three's to pvp one guy for his item. Until the plague, people were running rampant to conquer and kill people in the war... Everything doesn't need regulation, a bit of guidance is all the server needs. And the staff give more than that, asking for teams and apps for every situation will make Rp limited, stagnant, and boring.

As an old magic team leader I have to say no as well. Magic is fine in the hands of the lore masters and I'd rather it be kept that way.

From being on the previous magic team I can tell you that what we have going now is just fine. When it comes to new magic lore it doesn't need a whole separate team to decide and those who are experienced and reputable magic RPs already guide others through their RP.

lord Jesus no, no, no.. implementing the magic team once again is like returning a shackle to the players of lotc and their roleplay. Strict rules over magic is something I never want to see return. Elitism reigned, rules on magic were ridiculously strict, cliques were basically the only way you could get magic, ect. Even if this team would just be full of guides I can only see it getting stricter in the future.. We're here to have fun, restrictions just ruin that fun.

Any powergaming can be fixed with a simple msg or (in the worst case) a modreq to a gm. Don't forget you can always help someone who's rping magic "wrong" by msging them and discussing it.

overworked LM's.

It's the cushiest staff job on the server actually.

I was under that current impression because of the new ideas for lore and things like that that appear almost every day.

We're not tasked with processing the Roleplay Ideas forum.

I don't care anymore. I'm just too exhausted to having to explain to hydromancers how to do it right.

The mages who have no goal in mind other than simply wanting to win and be more powerful I simply kill in PVP.

The mages who want to create some interesting RP with their magic, primarily non-combat, I will gladly go indepth RP with.

And this is coming from someone who was T4 in two magics when MAs got removed.

Don't bother. Just do it right yourself.

If you see people doing it wrong, lead by example. I always go out of my way to try and make time for newer Druids, helping them infer right and wrong in character. Don't complain at them OOC, be friendly. Asking for an aloof group of senior magic users only insinuates that us older folks don't take the time to help newer magi. This might even be true, but it shouldn't be. I encourage all members of the magic community not to judge each other, petition for rules to regulate each other, or anything of the kind, rather, cooperate with each other, learn from each other, and to not perceive magic as a competition, or something for the elite. If you're better at magical roleplay than someone else, don't rest on your laurels, help them to reach your proficiency personally.
