The Protectors Of Anthos.

On our long march north, we met a group of halflings, fleeing from the northern lands in attempt to escape the upcoming scourge threat, they had already taken their lands, and they had no intention to reclaim them, offering them a small slice of salvus to live in, they safely lived near the coast, where they could escape any upcoming threat by boarding a ship and leaving this lands.

We marched to lenfarthing, and rained hell upon the scourge there who had absolutely no idea we were coming, the battle lasted less than a minute, our allies? They showed up unaware that the battle was even concluded, a record win for Oren.

The scourge, and Setherin himself must have been somewhat annoyed, since they raised their servants of the dead to take up arms against my people, from the city of Abresi, to the plains of Kaedrin we fought them back. Some days we lost no one, on others we lost a lot.

The scourge were planning something relatively big, I assumed they’d attack the march of Raev, my home. Konrad was sent to investigate the matter, and gather intelligence regarding the Northern advances along with Rick Felder and Bajko, with many of my resources and men being stretched thin on trying to rid Anthos of the Northern threat, it was some what difficult to determine where they would hit next, they soon revealed where they would hit next though, the cloud temple in Valles, upon its corruption Baron Corbett VanCleef sent me word, upon receiving word, I sent our birds out to our allies, stating how we lay claim to those lands by right of conquest, willingly, they decided to join. Marching east we attempted to liberate the people of Lenniel, after being pushed back we abandoned that hope, as a majority of the populace had left, and marched onwards to the cloud temple whilst Darius DeNurem attempted to liberate the people of Lenniel instead.

Upon reaching the cloud temple, the enemy had set up some rather strange structures, in which Konrad stated they would explode should we fire at it, with knowledge obtained we learnt  that by shooting the chains holding the structure, it would float off, to distract our enemy. I had the Lucienists fire at the chains of the structure whilst barraging the area to conceal our motives, with the lucienists on that task I ordered the Red Army to assault the main gate, with numbers gradually decreasing, reinforcements from the Orcish clans, Uruguan and many other free folk arrived, turning the tide on the field of battle, the battle was won, but it was a very close battle. One for us to remember.

Upon winning the battle, an idea formed in my mind. The enemy advances heavily upon us, takes our lands, kills our people. Yet nobody had actually attempted to take the fight to their lands, I returned to the Krelmstad for a while with my vassals and nobles, in which we discussed whether or not assaulting the far north was a good idea. Ailred Ruthern, our Lord Marshal opted against it, claiming killing undead men was no fun, and that we should be killing real people. Disgraced at his comment, I ordered him away, Leonidas Bedevere, Farley Stafyr, Corbett VanCleef, and many other nobles looked towards each other before nodding in agreement in marching North, I recall hearing Kord Steelwall asking his father why we must march north, and why my nobles and vassals would follow me after all the continuous fighting, Lark responded to his son that it is purely out of faith and trust. Maybe he was right? I guess I’ll never truly know.

With our dwindled army from years of fighting, the day of reckoning was upon the Scourge, a day they would remember as the day Anthos took the Northern entrance.

For a duration the fights had seized, the scourge had realised that the forces of anthos united as one were not a force to be reckoned with, and they hid inside of their lands, regaining their power and strength, but at that point, the golden lances appeared.

Peace was had at long last, and the scourge weren’t seen for some time. Thousands of men, woman and children were killed in those years, the years that will forever be known as “The cold years”.

A few more battles occured after that, including the ending of peace between Oren and the conclave after a raiding party attacked the lands of Stafyr, demanding justice and retribution from the Conclave, none was given.

Jack, a member of the Golden Lances approached me, being an old friend of mine I asked him why he had needed me, he demanded I cease all hostilities between the conclave, and rather work with them, in retreaving some keys, keys which would lead us into a new world. So we did, during the defence of the Cloud Temple, all keys were placed in position, and a portal opened. The fringe began a world war against Oren, due to a border dispute in which the forces of Uruguan claimed our land was theirs, and that we had provoked them into war, four years of peace had come to an end, thus beginning the war over the fringe. Tomorrow will be a day of reckoning, a day in which I shall no longer lead, nor live. Radomir Franz Carrion shall lead our people tomorrow, towards a better Oren. I will not be remembered as the saviour of humanity, I will most likely not be sainted, but remember this. I turned a crumbling nation into something great.

((Rushed the ending since the entire post is just me talking about the battles that had occured, or happened. Just really mentioned them for historical reasons, and because I couldn’t think of much more to write about.))

Branaford looks to the chronicle shaking his head "Once a great dynasty, with great men, their legacy now dead. Stories like these show the significance of the Carrion dynasty."
