A Challenge Issued To Tla'morthawl

A letter is sent to the Tla Morthawl. It is made of a rough parchment, and though the writing is legible, it is not the hand of a scholar.

"It is on this day, the 25th of Snow's Maiden, 1462, that Him Rexcellency Grogmar of Gorkil issues a challange to a klomp to the Tla of the Kharajyr people, Morthawl.

The Rex issues this challenge as it is so frequently the case where the Kharajyr show their lack of respect and discipline. As well as this, the Rex disputes the Kharajyr's involvement in any wars due to their vassalage to Elven-kind, and the tyrant Kalenz Uradir.

The terms are as such:

 -  Should the Rex Grogmar win this honour klomp, the Kharajyr people and the War Nation of Krugmar will once again be on good terms, and the Kharajyr must swear on their honour to never involve themselves in any act of war made upon Uruk-kind.

 - Should the Tla Morthawl win this honour klomp, the Kharajyr people are free to continue their subservience to the corrupt institute at Tahn'siol, and may participate in any acts of war upon Uruk-kind without their honour being stained.

 - Should either of the parties use deceitful or dirty tactics in this klomp, and fail to fight with honour, then they automatically forfeit the klomp and so accept the terms posed upon them.

 - Should either party refuse to partake in this klomp at any time, then their honour is forever stained by their cowardice."

Signed

- Rex Grogmar of Gorkil

An enormous Tigrasi overhears this challenge on his travels. "Zaddha has pursenawlleh se'awn thah Tlatlanni cawtch ah fawll'awng gayte." Zaddha ponders for a moment, and continues, "We'awll, he'ah almust cawght et. He'ah kynd o' dedawn't. Nevawrthahless, Zaddha es su'awr Morthawl cuuld defe'awt sum Rex weth ah cheep un hes shuldawr."

A sandstone tablet is sent to be delivered to the Rex, containing etchings and carvings upon its surface.

"You confuse Morthawl, Rex Grogmar.  For your terms suggest that Morthawl turns his blades upon your Orcs, and marches with the Tower Elves in war.  Morthawl's people are scarce, and it is not within Morthawl's interest to send warriors to their death in a war that Morthawl personally believes is pointless.  Nevertheless, you have issued a challenge, something that isn't a new concept to Morthawl.  For Morthawl has fought against several Rexes in the past, to honour your traditional way of proving oneself:  Combat.

Morthawl shall accept your terms, however let it be known that Morthawl's swords are not turned upon your kin at the hand of the Elves of Tahn'Siol, we simply take shelter there to relieve ourselves of the barren wasteland that is the fringe.  Certain Rexes have failed to show me true honour in the past, but Morthawl believes you will not let him down like some of your predecessors.

Throm'ka.  Tla'Morthawl shall seek you out."

Do'Kreshal shakes his head. He begins to think about the war and how the kharajyr were forced into it, if not we would be kicked out.

Blinks, picking up the sandstone tablet and reading it over while thinking to himself "****.. Why do I use paper!?" he smirks a bit before takinga crude piece of paper to write a response.

"It is hard to find you in the Fringe, friend. However your people have been thrown in this war because you seek shelter in the wrong place. Let us speak by the roaring flames of an Orcish bonfire and recollect on our thoughts. I have witnessed you klomp many a Rex, I have also seen you fail. Needless to say your numbers should not dictate your actions, and you should not be dictated because you seek shelter within the Silver Walls of the Rat King Kalenz. Come seek me out at the camp merely a few yards away from the Cloud Temple. Oh, and do tell any of the routy Orcs to not get the idea to turn their blade against, simply tell them the Rex has sent for you and you shell be let alone."

Aret hears of this through his many informants, and he carefully opens his eyes after so long of a meditation. "This will be interesting... I would be curious as to who would win..."

In all honesty, I think this is a great idea. Just a fun little combat without major changing of territory, and it doesn't force anyone to do anything they don't want to do. Good on you.
