Neutral Powerful Beasts/beings

I don't know if this is in plan for 4.0 or not but I hope it could be considered. So what I consider neutral beasts/beings  is basically an idea that what we already know as fantasy/mythological beasts such as dragons, cyclops/giants, elementals, mudmen, giant spiders, forbidden beasts, colossal mechs, etc,  can exist in our world simply to be there. We can even have somewhat intelligent groups exist with a hive mentality, or even like the flood from halo but not so over powered. (Like a fungal disease.) What I'm suggesting is that these neutral beasts/beings are in our world but have no part in the story or lore of the events that will play out for the Antagonist or Protagonist.

Of course with some extreme luck you are able to persuade or tame these beings to your side whether good or evil go right ahead. But these beings simply live in our world and if we want to engage in these beings we can or not even engage them ever at all. if this is possible we can have so much diversity and side things to do that would add much fun RPly and many roles for the ET to do. Also gives an opportunity for actually player heroes to exist in our server, I mean who doesn't want to be a dragonslayer with a cool title and weapon to go with that.

Though it would be extremely difficult to defeat any of these beings alone, but it's worth a shot. Finally I would like to add that these beings can also engage Rper's if for their natural reasons such as food, or change of location (migration) or other reasons. In conclusion I would love to see this in 4.0, since it would add mystery and much reason for exploration. I would love to hear your opinion on it, and also if you want to post images of cool crazy things that would be cool to see exist in our world go ahead and post it.

Alright, so you want a Neutral Antag/Protag.

An antagonist is not neutral nor is a protagonist. Both are heavily inclined in one direction.

Plus, what Lago said.

We already have this in the form of the Event Team.

True, but most of the time these events happen at a random occurrence without them actually living within the map.

I think what you're saying is great and basically what I come to understand is that you wish for pretty much mythical creatures to be player RP'd mobs that are really just around to spice up RP which is very much needed as I for one along with many others have not played for a long time as RP is lacking as of late and the RP that I do find is very boring.

A protagonist does not have to be either evil or good, its all a matter of perspective.

In the case of a server antagonist, things are pretty clear cut on the moral compass.

Not necessarily. People like the High Elves RPly antagonize the Druids sometimes, so they could be considered an antagonist, even if to the High Elves the Druids are actually the antagonists.

Its all a matter of perspective.

Alright I suppose I chose the wrong words to represent my idea, I'll change it if I can.

I was hoping that this would be a thread to suggest a neutral main antagonist. The whole "Antagonist has to be a group of super evil magic wielding warriors run by a evil demon overlord" thing gets kind of old. Why not have a massive band of mercenaries that had previously populated 4.0 before we got there and wanted us gone, or a pirate crew that wants to take the land for themselves? Or hell, why not totally switch it up and have a group of morally good priests, templars, and paladins that inhabited the place before we got there, and thought that we were sent there by demons or something and wanted to kill us off?

Idk, I'm just really hoping for something original come 4.0.

Anyhoo, to actually stay on topic, yeah your idea is cool too. :P

On the plus side of this idea, it gives players incentive to work their way up to glory.

Awhile back I asked around the ET chat about maybe having neutral dragons/drakes/drakaars/whatevertheycalldragons and the response I got was that, according to lore, they were all super-evil eat first ask questions later monsters... alright.

As for other Goliaths, it's certainly something I'm interested in doing come 4.0.

Yeah would be interesting but I believe they already have one, but that doesn't mean that what you're saying couldn't be a side thing.

On Topic

Thanks for agreeing, hopefully with this idea we can add more mystery to our world, add more diversity, sure we have an occasional random event with a dragon or beast, but it's either tied with the main story or just a random occurrence. I would like to see that these things have a lair or place of some sort that would add to the mystery. For example if the wilderness is quite large we can possibly add dragon lairs, or possibly a land for giants. Basically with this idea I hope to give us a view that our world is huge, and that the story of the our world can be expansive and left to make your own conclusions.
