I don't like the ' freshness ' timers on the food just for the basic fact that if you kill a pig and get meat, then you go a bit and kill another pig the meat wont stack and just takes up soooo much space in your inventory.

Shorten the freaking wait times. An hour for a chestplate? I'll need a freaking anvil floor to do anything now if these wait times stay the way they are. Otherwise plugin is very nice, just wish I could smith horse armor and chain rings. Oh and there is a bug with making anvils where if you make one with multiple smithing hammers in your inventory, it eats them all.

 

Great plugin, just need to fix some things like WAIT TIMES.

I love Telanir as a coder, but the crafting plugin sucks. Why should I wait 7 minutes for a sign to be finished, and have everyone fight over a bloody anvil? It's generally really annoying, and all that time could be better spent roleplaying.

 

The crafting plugin takes too much away from Vanilla MC, and seems too complicated to use. I've spent several minutes trying to figure out how everything works. If I'm having trouble figuring out this plugin, so will new players.

 

Just remove the crafting times. There is no point in it being there. Actually you know what? Overhaul the system completely because it's too damn complicated and annoying to use. The last thing we need is to confuse new players.

The wait times are what makes the entire system: without it, it's ****. You can deal with the wait times just fine, the oodles of people on the old test server started a rather fine community and no shits were given.

 

Slashing the wait times is because you have 0 patience- It's good. In battles, you'll actually take an economic hit if you lose stuff, unless you have large stockpiles. People can't just instamake **** because it ruins the system. It makes things worth more, in a few days if you stop complaining you can easily have a nice community going. You can RP while it crafts, or have it go overnight- it's not hard. Why do you have to sit by the crafting station instead of roleplay? There's no tending to do.

 

I've noticed roleplay heavy people cry because they actually have to take time to get resources, mostly high elves. Honestly, this is a good addition, you just are used to things being handed to you on a silver platter.

You are aware that some people don't have hours to spend on their computers, right? Some people have obligations to family, work, church, schooling, sports, etc. I'm not sure why you think this complaint is so impatient.

Just to give an idea, as this will be myself and countless others once school starts. There are 24 hours in a day, usually 12-14 of it is spent awake... School takes away 7 hours. So let's say we have 5 left. Sports take away another three. We have two left. Homework takes away another hour. We have a single remaining hour.

Should we spend this hour making chestplates on Minecraft?

You're oddly rude, especially to players who've been here longer than you. I'd say SuperSoda has a more knowledgable opinion of what's best for the server than you, considering he/she has been here for a helluva lot longer.

Putting that aside: This profession plugin is aiming for realism? How is it realism when you have to wait 40 minutes to make a chestplate and can just walk off and roleplay. Is some magical doodad working for you to craft the chestplate for you while you're away or logged off? As to address your point of crafting stuff and logging off: when items are complete, the claimable option is available for anyone who opens the workstation if the item has yet to be claimed, so your stuff you waited to be crafted has now been stolen.

Remove craft times but keep professions. This forces actual blacksmiths, farmers, etc to sprout up and have job roleplay, but with a whole lot less bullshit.

Ignore him. It's not like the opinion of a banned player holds any value in this discussion whatsoever.

Im not sure if i should post it here or in the other topic as it covers both of them.. but i'm disappointed there is no way to repair items we can't even combine the two in our crafting tables now. But apart from that the rest of the plugin ( when it works ) has been pretty amazing

Pleasantly surprised that there were only a few posts I had to hide, I knew you guys could give feedback without spiraling into forum doom!

Oh yea, one more thing. Seems like leather workers, tinker, and some professions give no exp when you craft stuff related to that profession.

I personally love the plugin, excluding the wait time, which I think should just be lowered for certain items, for example, an iron for an iron chest plate? 15 minutes, maybe, but an hour is just outrageous. Also, has chainmail been implemented yet, or if so how do you make it, because I can't seem to figure that out.

Plugin is entirely fine, just reduce the times to craft things. I get that they're useful and helpful for the goal the plugin is trying to achieve, but they're a bit extreme.

 

Also the fact that one anvil or workbench can only be used by one person at a time is a little frustrating and I can't figure out what it's purpose is.

 

 

Other than that, it's cool.

 

EDIT: Seriously reduce the time to craft, I've just spent over an hour trying to craft an iron chestplate, only to have it stolen from me by a server restart.

Fishing is OP, the fact that you can get enchanted iron helmets, enchanted bows far superior to the ones that blacksmiths are making, and enchanters can enchant creates a huge imbalance in the professions, especially since you're a fisherman... probably the one least expected to surprisingly find the best arms and armors on the server from sitting on the dock or in a boat motionless until something catches your bait.

 

Fisherman shouldn't at all, ever be allowed to fish up enchanted iron helmets or enchanted bows. What's worse? Master level fisherman are capable of fishing diamond armor, and given the current bug that repairing armors cost nothing (last time I checked) you might easily repair the damaged diamond armor with no cost whatsoever. The fact that diamond armor is impossible to obtain by blacksmiths because:

  1. You need a very experienced miner
  2. Even if you're very experienced, you need to FIND the diamonds
  3. It takes FOREVER to get the diamonds
  4. IT TAKES FOREVER, to craft the armor
  5. But most importantly, IT'S DISABLED IN BLACKSMITHING RIGHT NOW.

So this is less of, an issue right now, but it will become an issue once people become master fisherman. People don't naturally become fisherman so that they can get armors 10x faster than a blacksmith (and the hardest to craft at that too), while not really getting exactly what it is you actually became a fisherman for. Fish.

 

My proposition is to remove all armor, bow, diamond armor drops from the fishing treasures, and rather add things that you might find in the 2.0, 1.0 fishing skills plugin, like record discs, diamonds and rare materials.

 

I propose:

  • Shiny Gem (Diamond, can't be used for making diamond related things, if it could then use an emerald instead)

  • Wreckage (Boat)

  • Sea Weed (Tall Grass) (Could be used for possible fish related food recipe)

  • Message In A Bottle (Glass Bottle)

  • Corpse (Human Head)

  • Dark Resin (Ink Sac)

  • Raw Squid (Raw Fish)

  • Wooden Bucket (Iron bucket)

  • Gold Ring (Gold Nugget)

Some basic materials yo could get from fishing besides special named items similar to "Maple Syrup" or "Old Axe" could be:

 

  • Bucket
  • Name Tag
  • Gold Nugget
  • Raw Fish
  • Raw Salmon
  • Clown Fish
  • Pufferfish

Which would act as your Treasure, or Trash found from fishing. Fishing should retain it's basic elements of being a simple profession where you may find treasure, but will more likely find trash. But above all, you should be able to find fish. What the fishing plugin lacks is giving the player enough fish at the later levels (I don't know about later levels or not) but the priority on higher levels should be increasing fishing multipliers, or giving multiple items every time you reel in, that way you can't quite see what you get if you reel in 2-3 items as a master fisherman, you'll have to look through your findings to see what you got.
