Out-Of-Character Information

The simplest section of the application. Answer these questions so we can get to know you a bit more. Please do your best to correct spelling and grammatical errors, this is an RP server and writing is the main form of communication!

What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: - Pokemauler

How old are you?: - 31

Have you ever roleplayed on a minecraft server before? If so, where?: - No

Have you applied to this server before? (Please link past applications): -  No

How did you hear about us?: - Google

What do you think the server will be like? – Hopefully it will be not just challenging from a gameplay standpoint but it does sound like the lore is very well developed.

Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - Yes

What’s the rule you agree with the most?: - I like the rule of no damaging other players structures unless there is a rp reason for it(and when the player is online). It doesn’t take away from the roleplaying experience(ie without this rule you wouldn’t be able to follow a drunkard home who insulted your family’s heritage then when confronting him and him refusing to let you in you couldn’t break the door down to have a few words with them).

Do you understand combat rules, and what you can and can’t do if you do choose to roleplay as a villain?:- Yes

Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?(If so maybe we can help clear it up! You will not be denied for having a question on the rules):- It all makes sense.

Definitions

These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person!

What is roleplaying?: - Roleplaying is taking on the role, personality and beliefs of a character. It is pretending that you are them and thinking to a variety of different situations and events as to how that character would react to them.

What’s metagaming?: - Meta gaming is when you use outside knowledge or previous experience from that game universe to your advantage. For example a group your character is adventuring with rushes off ahead of you and all of them are sadly vanquished by a trap. They are talking about the trap(whether that be in game through a chat channel or even table top in person you, you'reself, not your character, knows of the trap). You use this knowledge by having your character search for traps in the room as you enter so that you don't trigger it. Another example I've seen a lot when I played ultima online(on a private rp server) was people would come up to me, without having met my character and without anyone nearby having said my name or without me introducing myself to them IC and say "Hi Lachlan, how are you?" They knew my name was Lachlan because the player read my name in the text above my head.

What’s powergaming?: - Power gaming can be using someone elses character to do something without their permission or change something that is out of your control. For example player A would be power gaming if he said *I thrust my sword at your torso and impale you*. He gives Player B no opportunity to avoid the attack.

In-Character Information

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that you follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

What’s your character called?: - Lachlan Ironshield

What race are they? (and sub-race if applicable): - Dwarf

What gender are they?: - Male

How old are they?: - 80(roughly comparable to a human in their 30’s)

Bio: Lachlan comes from a long line of a family of miners and smiths. His father, Roland Ironshield is a retired soldier who returned to the family business of smithing and mining and currently runs a small shop in the great capital Kal’Azgoth, named The Battered Anvil.  Lachlan’s mother is died serving as a medic for King Grandaxe’s forces. She was murdered along with the rest of the regiment she was assigned to(prior to the ceasefire after the Plague of the Fringe) by high elve allies of Oren.

After his mother’s death, driven by sadness and anger he vowed to follow in her footsteps and the previous footsteps of his father – serve in the Kal’Azgoth military. Not for vengeance but in honor of his mother. He decided  however to not follow his mother’s medical field and pursued the path of a soldier.

Lachlan, of course having come from a long line of smiths was very familiar with his family’s trade. He, while not out on active duty, occasionally would help his father run the Battered Anvil. His job of a solider however prevented him from doing this, and seeing his father as much as he would have liked though.

About a year ago while working off  duty Lachlan suffered an injury that would change his life forever. He was repairing a breastplate for a customer. He heated the metal enough so that he could pound out the dent in the armor, most likely from a blunt weapon like a war hammer or mace. Going to reach for his hammer from the shelf above him, without paying attention to where it was and simply trying to feel out its location he nudged the hammer off the shelf and it smacked him square on the head. It wasn’t until several hours later that his father found him after returning from a mining expedition.  His father took care of his head injury the best he could, even took his son to get the injury looked at. From what the doctors could tell and his father could tell Lachlan was fine, minus some mild amnesia. Sadly, the memories that Lachlan lost never returned though his father thanked the Brathmordakin that his son did not suffer a worse fate.

A few weeks after the injury Lachlan started acting…off. His father described it as more childish and immature but shrugged it off as something that was probably temporary from his head injury. At least until the day Lachlan was discharged from the military for assaulting a fellow officer during chow time. His father, furious questioned his son as to what happened over dinner that night. He never expected what happened next. Lachlan explained to his father “Officer Warthunder took the last cup of soup! Mister Beble wanted it so I smacked him upside the head with my tray and took it for him.”

His father was shocked, even down right embarrassed that he would assault an officer over something so minor. “You did what?!  What were ye thinkin’,boy?! I didn’t raise you to do things like that over things so petty. Who is this Mister Beble?” his father questioned.

Lachlan replied as he lifted his left hand from under the table and propped his elbow on the table. On his hand was a black, slightly worn sock with two yellow eyes painted on it. “This is Mister Beble! He’s my best friend!” Lachlan then talked out of the corner of his mouth in a higher pitched voice as he made the sock puppets mouth move.

“Hiya, pops!”

To this day Lachlan still works at The Battered Anvil performing minor, simple tasks for his father and most certainly NOT using the forge anymore.

What are they like? (personality): -  Prior to his injury Lachlan was very mature, calm and collected. However, when he did get angry he had a temper as furious as his mothers. Now, after the blow to the head Lachlan has a child’s mind. He’s stupid, gullible and very immature. Thankfully his better half, Mister Beble is of average intelligence(compared to something living…not average intelligence for a sock) and acts as Lach’s better half so to speak.

What are their ambitions?: - Lachlan’s ambitions are simple – make his father proud of him and help out best he can with the family business. Lachlan even sneaks out sometimes at night and goes to work at the smithy, crafting decent armor for someone of his mental capacity. His father, as they usually fill very large orders, has yet to notice the increase in production. As for Mister Beble, he is motivated by three things – money, women and more women.

Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): -  Lachlan’s weaknesses include his dull wit and lack of intelligence after the injury. He also has an obsession for shiny things and can easily be distracted/bribed with such items. Special skills, despite his injury he has a very natural gift still with the anvil and forge.

Mister Beble’s(or rather that part of Lachlan’s psyche) strengths include intelligence, common sense, and quick thinking when it comes to thinking up how to get coins and women.

Obviously Mr.Beble’s weaknesses include his greed for coin and his love for beautiful women.

Give us a description of how they look?: - Lachlan is about Four and a half feet tall and rather muscular. He has red hair,a long red beard and one blue eye and one green eye. Usually he has a clueless look on his face.

Mister Beble is a slightly used sock puppet with yellow painted on eyes. He has a couple small holes throughout his body(from daily wear and tear)
