Pandan 1452 Share Posted September 1, 2014 § Minecraft name(s): PandaC0mmander § Skype ID: dan_mather § Time zone: GMT § Have you ever been banned or received a strike? If so, link the report: Nay. § Do you hold / have you held any other staff positions?: Nay. § What MMORPG/video games have you / do you play? (Past and Present): My steam library exceeds 150 games so I don’t plan on listing them all, however I did spend rather large amounts of time within Guild Wars 2 and WoW. § What are your characters? Are you willing to sacrifice any to become a Event member?: I have two characters I roleplay frequently, Dasyra Linath and Jakob Stafyr.. Currently I’d definitely have adequate time to help out as I find myself sitting without much to do. § What race / group do you think your events would best cater to? If none in particular, give an example of the type of group that your events would entertain. : Naturally I’d find myself more suited to run events for high elves, mainly because this is where I have spent the majority of my time. However I wouldn’t be against going to other nations, or smaller groups dotted around the map in order to entertain them also. § What do you believe are key factors for a successful event?: A successful event must be enjoyable for the actual people taking part, they have to want to do the event and not see it as a drag for your own personal enjoyment. Ensure that it’s also fair, don’t make it a ‘on rails’ experience and allow the player to go about the event as they want, it’s RP, it goes both ways. § When was the last time you saw a event?: A couple of months? Including the ET downtime. § What strengths could you contribute to the Event Team? Are you knowledgeable in lore or great at organizing?: I’ve been with the server for over a year, nothing in comparison to many a member yet still significant. Over this time I’ve learn large sections of lore, and I’d like to believe gained further skill within RP’ing from the scrublord I was when I first joined. § Why do you want to be part of the ET?: Honestly, to give myself something else to do that’s slightly different from the usual RP, being able to be slightly more open would provide enjoyment for myself and hopefully others around me. § Create three distinct RP scenarios/events that you would organize. These are pitches to the Managers and Ouity, not to the community. Note: Not all of the group must be handled at once. Eg: 20+ people via 5 person increments in a dungeon. § 1) For 1-3 person § 2) For a group of 5-10 § 3) For a group of 20+ 1) For a smaller group being specific to the persons involved is key, and it also allows to be slightly more open and organisation is now made easier. Thus, the event I’ll describe would involve some form of building, isolated away from society and within a woods. A strange figure would find this small group, asking them to follow and leading them towards the house. Upon arriving they enter, the man scurries away into a small room and the door slams shut behind them. Trapped, they must discover a way to break the ‘magical lock’ and escape from the house. Clues would be left, an odd word on the door most likely being an easy enough to solve anagram of a word that leads them towards another door, etc. With each stage a new chapter of the story would be told, perhaps the man is some form of wizard, a ghost; once the layout for the event is laid the story can be changed to give each user an individual experience. 2) With this size group, it’s best to go for a ruin, dungeon style event. Obviously that’s a vague term so I’ll give an example of an event of this sort. A researcher struggles to pack everything into a bag, a player comes along and perhaps questions the researcher, and he explains he is visiting a ruin located just outside the city! Using this RP as a delay, you can build the group to an adequate size and then set off to this selected ruin, entering inside the ‘tomb’ everybody piles in and after a few emotes the floor gives way, dropping the group into a large open cavern, with a small spot of water. Within the cave there are four stone faces (Think fable), each identical.. Upon approaching, they’d give a riddle, puzzle, something for the large group to figure out.. Maybe a challenge where mobs come flying out from nowhere, like before, it’s easy to adapt. Once all four are completed, some form of reward would drop down.. Even if it’s pointless, I feel like offering the player something like a useless ring makes it more rewarding and satisfying the player, plus they store it somewhere.. use it in RP, the event can continue even without me being there. 3) This is more difficult, your cannot guide people anywhere due to the size of the group so you have to make do with the surroundings.. It’s also rather difficult to make it entirely RP focused as people throwing 20 emotes in your face is near impossible to keep up with. So for this, a mob killing based event would be appropriate. It’s very difficult not to be generic here with the ‘necromancer raising the dead’ style event, so perhaps turning it into something slightly ‘mad hatter’ esque would be interesting. For example, a wacky mage comes along to a busy square shouting random things ect, ect. Before long his sayings become offensive, and a player comes along threatening him and then he explodes into small rabbits represented by silverfish. Sometimes the odd shock of exploding rabbit men can make an event more enjoyable, and can be remembered for long periods of time. § How long do you plan to stay in the ET?: For as long as I find it enjoyable and can still provide interesting events to the public. § Tell me a joke: Why does Santa have 3 gardens? So he can hoe hoe hoe.

Wolf Druid Ouity 1461 Share Posted September 2, 2014 The Event Team Application has been updated. Please ensure that your event scenarios fit into the current lore of LOTC. This means that a random force, race, or antagonist is frowned upon.
Pandan 1452 Author Share Posted September 2, 2014 The Event Team Application has been updated. Please ensure that your event scenarios fit into the current lore of LOTC. This means that a random force, race, or antagonist is frowned upon. I don't believe any of my events to be too out of the blue, the first can be explained through current ghost lore.. Second, it's a dungeon event, this may be slightly too much but once again the faces can remain still and perhaps a ghostly voice echoes throughout the room.. The third, powerful illusionist.. Due to the large, extensive lore of LotC there is usually an easy explanation to any situation provided.. However, if you do wish for the current events to be changed further please state and I'll comply.
