Out-Of-Character Information

The simplest section of the application. Answer these questions so we can get to know you a bit more. Please do your best to correct spelling and grammatical errors, this is an RP server and writing is the main form of communication!

What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: - SirDerpyDwarf

How old are you?: - 19

Have you ever roleplayed on a minecraft server before? If so, where?: - RoleplayRevolution (Now dead) Rise of Kings and Wayward Realms.

Have you applied to this server before? (Please link past applications): - No.

How did you hear about us?: - I’ve heard about you for a very long time, in fact you were among the first ever servers I stumbled across in my early venture’s into the roleplaying world. However I was rather overwhelmed at the time and decided to go for a smaller server that was more my pace.

What do you think the server will be like? - As far as I know, I believe the server will be of high quality, good standing, and generally have a good level of polish to it all. Of course there’s only so much I can know based on photo’s and general chit-chat from other role players. But based upon what I have heard I think that the server will be a darn good one.

Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - Yes and yes.

  • What’s the rule you agree with the most?: - “Metagaming and powergaming of any kind are not allowed.“

Do you understand combat rules, and what you can and can’t do if you do choose to roleplay as a villain?:-

Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?(If so maybe we can help clear it up! You will not be denied for having a question on the rules):- I understand the rules as they have been laid out to me.

Definitions

These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person!

What is roleplaying?: - Roleplaying is the action in which a person opens up what I’ve dubbed the “theatre of the mind” in which they will take their place as a character in the ‘stage’ which was set before them. By all appearances they are now that character and act as that character would (as one might enter the role of Han Solo or James Bond). They will follow the mannerisms and personality of that character and not diverge off that course. (unless pushed to their absolute limits.)

What’s metagaming?: - Meta gaming’s definition is rather simple, using out-side character knowledge to your own advantage or personal gain, this involves asking where other players currently are to knowing sensitive information (Such as the true father of a child or where a treasure is hidden) that they have no possibility of truly knowing IC.

What’s powergaming?: - Power gaming is when a player goes above and beyond the realm of reality in how their character acts, either acting like an untouchable god to doing magics not possible. One simple one that is all too common from what I’ve seen is the refusal to die when they have been cornered and defeated.

In-Character Information

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that you follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

What’s your character called?: - Robarth Washburn

What race are they? (and sub-race if applicable): - Human

What gender are they?: - Male

How old are they?: - 57

Give us a highlight of their past, What life events make your character the person they are today? This is your character's biography. It is also required to include server lore when writing. (Names of towns, major server events, ect. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): -

Robarth was born to a simple Highlander home, with simple lives and simple ways. His father was a blacksmith, his grandfather before him a blacksmith too, and just like them both he was to become another in the Washburn name. Taught by his father and grandfather alike (who had the good fortune of a long healthy life, long enough to see his own grandson) the art of the red forge. But as he grew he took to other crafts too, wood-working, a little sewing here and there, general craftsman work.

His family for much of his life, since birth till the calamity of 1468 in which he had to abandon the home he had known all his life, lived near the capital of Tempun. His home was a generous size, big enough for him, a few brothers and his parents and grandparents. It was a squeeze to be sure but they could sleep comfortably with a roof over their heads at the very least. Being the eldest son it was he that was taught the trade of the family, and he that then took over the family work when he came of age. Continuing on to keep working the old forge for as long as it would still hold a good flame.

As his brothers grew as well though they went their own ways, one went on the path of a bard, hoping to find great fortunes. The other a simple City Watchman, doing his duty for the city that was nearby, while still being able to send the odd amount of coin back home to help Robarth with the parents.

It was when he was 32 his Grandfather finally passed on, making that a day of great sadness, but one of inspiration too. Taking to his forge he toiled and worked away until he had created a small bust of his grandfather, capturing his likeness almost perfectly. Adorning the tombstone of his grandfather, and when his own father and mother’s times came he made more for them too. Robarth to this day prays that the little metal works still adorn the tombstones of his loved ones.

In 1468 though when the great winter befell Thales, he had to gather what he could and leave with the rest of the peoples that were leaving, his old bones could not take the chill, and heading to warmer lands gave him hope for a good future, however short that might be.

What are they like? (personality): - Robarth is a kindly old gentleman, walking with a slight slack to his back, making him lurch over a tad. Often found sitting down or simply gazing at the scenery, he has lived a good happy life and is now simply waiting for his final time to come. But until then, he might as well get some things done. One such thing really at his age he should not really be doing, which would be getting into any sort of a fight. However having lived the life of a strong smithy, he has a bravado and courage that still hasn’t abandoned him even in older age. So this means that he will not simply sit idly by as someone gets bullied or harassed, taking up his cane as a weapon to swat at his foes (praying to the gods the thugs don’t simply strike him down where he stands.)

What are their ambitions?: - In his old age his ambitions have either been met or are rather simple, to find a home, a warm fire, a place to sleep and a blanket to keep him warm. But if not that then to walk the countryside and meeting new faces. Perhaps drawing and painting what sights he might find. When not found painting you might find him sitting or slowly walking down the street with his ever present smile and happy brow.

Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): - Generally it is accepted that old age gives a variety of weaknesses. Although not weak and still in good standing, his stamina is at an all time low (and it won’t be getting any higher either). He isn’t the fastest and struggles a little without his cane to walk.

Give us a description of how they look?: - Robarth was once a tall broad man, 6ft from toes to top and almost as broad at the shoulders. Once a proud blacksmith and craftsman, he enjoyed the warmth of the forge and the metal clang of hsi tools. However with age comes the erosion that befalls even the great mountains and cliffs, so as he grew older his frame shrunk and he took to using a walking stick. With a simple travelling cloak and a cap upon his head, he wears the clothes of someone more his age, rather than a the fit young lad he once was. At his chin is a long thick beard of matted grey hairs, around his lips even more of it giving him the face befitting a kind old gentleman.

Please give us a screenshot of your character’s skin: -
