Questions Regarding Professions, Soulstone Pillars, And More

So far on 4.0 I have seen many changes from when I first joined, (I started in the fringe...) and I have a few questions regarding many of the recent changes.

First off the nexus plots, the land that the city i live in requires 15 people, so we need 15 citizens minimum and 15 citizens active and we have 3 days to get that.

here are my questions regarding that:

1. When we get 15 active people how long do we have before this resets and we need 15 people to be active again? i would assume a week, but then why do we only have 3 days and not a full week to get this?

2. How does one meet their activity requirement? I have heard that its 2 hours, and then i have heard it was 2 hours, but you need to be inside the city, and also it was 2 hours, but you have to be online the entire 2 hours.

Next up is soulstone pillars.

1. How many people can fit on a regular redstone soulstone pillar? because we have 30-40 people in the city with 2 pillars, and more than half of us can't connect to the pillars.

2. is it possible to get an emerald pillar in our city, even though we are not a racial capital, we have a very large community and continue to grow rapidly.

Number three on the list is the new raid rules and war.

1. What is the exact definition of a raid? because I have been told that just walking into a city and taking items from chests is considered raiding an unallowed, while I personally think it would be armed men coming into the city that actually try to attack people and generally harass the town.

2. In the new war rules it says that there is a cost to war, something along the lines of 32 gold blocks and a double chest of baked goods and a chest of cooked meats, i can understand that the food would get eaten, but where exactly does the gold go, to the soldiers? or maybe to the winning side? or does it just disappear from existence?

And lastly (mainly cause its late) is the professions

1. Mostly because I am only on working on woodworking, why are there no woodworking items that require a high skill level? there are staffs, but honestly, how many staffs am i going to make? almost every item of woodworker requires anything above promising and take no time to make!

2. Can someone compile a list of the different levels of professions from inept all the way to the last level and the experience required to reach them? I would like to know how much further I have to go to be a woodworking god!

Thank you to all the people who could read the entirety of my post, and a very special thanks to all who answer my questions!

Regions:

1. Yes, the answer is a week, however it is checked globally. Every week there is a check, and that check occurs at the same time for everyone. The reason you have three days is because you placed it three days before the next check.

2. The answer is 4 hours. You have to be online on LotC a total of 4 hours during the week to be considered active. It doesn't matter where you are.

Soulstone Pillars:

1. It depends on what VIP level the soulstone pillar was created. Look at the donation page for the specifics. Different donation amounts allow different numbers of people to connect to the soulstone pillar.

2. I'm not a staff member so I obviously can't answer that.

Wars/Raids:

1. Raids are basically going into another settlement with malicious intent to rob things, hurt people, etc. as a group. If you are one person, it is not a raid, though the anti-banditry rules apply. You cannot show up at another settlement with 5 armed people to rob people, hurt people, steal stuff, do anything really. That is a raid.

2. It just disappears from existence.

Professions:

1. Honestly I don't know. Stonemasonry and woodworking seem to be mostly useless professions. I think they need a buff.

2. I believe it is on the wiki.

To first claim the plot you need to prove you are active. You might also notice the land does not actually become protected until this initial three-day trial period is passed.

2. How does one meet their activity requirement? I have heard that its 2 hours, and then i have heard it was 2 hours, but you need to be inside the city, and also it was 2 hours, but you have to be online the entire 2 hours.

You must be online on the persona/s that are citizens on the region for four hours per week to count as active. Where you are on the server does not matter but which persona you are playing does.

I wrote a fairly comprehensive guide on Nexus regions that should answer most other questions you might have which you can find here.

1. How many people can fit on a regular redstone soulstone pillar? because we have 30-40 people in the city with 2 pillars, and more than half of us can't connect to the pillars.

As others have said, depends on the VIP level of the pillar owner.

2. is it possible to get an emerald pillar in our city, even though we are not a racial capital, we have a very large community and continue to grow rapidly.

Straight-up no. Emerald pillars are reserved for racial capitals only.

1. What is the exact definition of a raid? because I have been told that just walking into a city and taking items from chests is considered raiding an unallowed, while I personally think it would be armed men coming into the city that actually try to attack people and generally harass the town.

It can come down to a case-by-case basis by the GM overseeing the situation, but in general a group (more than two) people causing discord in a town (or Nexus plot) is considered a raid. This does come down to GM discretion.

All the materials are taken from the staff and poofed into thin air as the cost of war. If they were distributed to the soldiers then the winning side could negate the cost entirely by simply getting the soldiers to give it all back.

1. Mostly because I am only on working on woodworking, why are there no woodworking items that require a high skill level? there are staffs, but honestly, how many staffs am i going to make? almost every item of woodworker requires anything above promising and take no time to make!

I'm not sure of the entire list but in particular the bows and possibly arrows you create will be better. As you level up they'll increase in quality and decrease in time required to craft.

2. Can someone compile a list of the different levels of professions from inept all the way to the last level and the experience required to reach them? I would like to know how much further I have to go to be a woodworking god!

Already done.

Im a woodworker myself.

As you get better, the crafting time of arrows goes down significantly, and as you climb the ranks, you can craft more arrow heads per flint/ingot than standard.

Bows will get a velocity bonus when you get good enough (arrow flies faster). Im adept, and make about 10-20% increase.

Staves will probably see a good amount of people seeking your help, since theyre supposed to raise magical power.

They require you making a stave, and a stone mason cutting a gem. So both those professions get a nice bit of interest.

Best part of woodworking? Boats. You'd be suprised how often you need them.

Finally, I agree woodworkers still need more things. I suggested the idea of 2 better bows, which came with Punch & Punch II respectively. Hopefully something will give people more incentive.
