Your View: Voting Rewards

I can imagine most of you have seen my Voting Rewards threads by now (if not, here they are). To those who don't understand, I've essentially added an incentive to voting for LotC on various server list websites by rewarding both the players who have voted the most for LotC, as well as other randomly selected voters.

 

I was wondering what your thoughts are on this system. Do you like it? Are the rewards good enough? Do you have any ideas on changes I can make in the format? The staff's goal in this program is to thank the players who come together to support our server, as well as try and bring new members into the community. If you have any ideas on how we can better achieve this goal, we'd love to hear it.

 

 

 

Please note: This is not a thread about the amount of minas you get for voting, so please avoid derailing the topic by discussing this. This is meant to be something on top of the mina reward everyone gets.

Though, I really do like the idea. Seems like a nice prize to hand out and the prizes for this upcoming one seem interesting. Hope to see it continue in the future.

Only thing I have to say is that handing out 3k to 34 players last time was a bit too much. Perhaps going over the next time you only pick half of the top voters for a mina reward and half for a skill tome.

This time around I've lowered the prize to 1k. That being said, the amount of minas I gave to players for being the top voter isn't close to the amount generated from players voting.

I was at first annoyed as it seemed we had lost out on our 150 minas a day however that is not true. Therefore I think the changes are fine.

So I made a thread kinda related to this. So I had a little think, and I am well aware that at 6am me trying to think of all the money sinks in the economy was probably not going to work.

So.. this system I proposed should be implemented to truely make people feel they need to vote, but the money from voting rewards really needs to be measured as well.

 

Quick question to get the discussion furthered Ski, what's the current state of the number of minas in the economy? What is the current amount of minas in people's wallets?

I don't know exactly, I'm not too worried about that. Likewise, I'm talking about the voting rewards, not the minas you get from each individual time voting.

 

As of now, there's no plans on changing having minas as a reward for individual votes, merely discussion regarding how I could possibly tweak the Voter Rewards program I'm running and what better prizes could possibly be.

Considering we're not a highly ranked server, yet we have a fairly large and active server, one would think we need better rewards. I'm not sure exactly what those should be.
