Zarsies 6795 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Greetings friends, lovers, and all akin (Lord of the Craft); I come to you to unveil the antagonist for Athera (4.0). It has never truly been confirmed before now aside from speculation and rumors that have floated around. To many people this will not come to as a surprise. This being said the antagonist will be Argonians! Lizard Men from beneath the Sea! Just kidding, in truth the Undead will be returning. The Undead this time around will be different yet close to the Undead of the past. We wanted to keep things as close to the original as possible with the exception of freshening up some ideas as well as modernization for new-school and retro yet new experiences. We will not go about expressing what ideas are new and modernized as we feel it is best to be learned in game. I also wish to express that the antagonist is not a staff team. Nor can staff members join it just because they are staff. Everyone will have equal chances to become an antagonist. That being said there will not be some place where you can “apply” for it. If you are being looked at for the role someone will come to you via pm to invite you as well as make sure you would even be interested. Interacting with the Undead The antagonist has more purpose and goals beyond being on a campaign for the mortal realm and conquest over the Descendants. That being, their reign is completely dependant on the players (on all sides) in order to resist or penetrate the enemy. The Undead, over their duration, will attempt to take locations through numerous timeframes. Should your position come under siege by the Undead the leaders of said area or faction will be informed to make the experience the best it can be for everyone. And too note that block damage is a possibility. But too you will find Undead, on occasion, visible -- on the road or in a city, causing mayhem or making deals. But more often than not, they are invisible. The Undead are your friends and neighbors, infiltrating the nations and guilds, corrupting and stealing your folk. So watch out, as more often than not, we're right behind you with our dagg-, staff, really, raised. How to become an Undead The minimal amount of information we can disclose for the sake of surprise and whatnot beyond trying to keep down metagaming is pretty simple: get our attention. Infamous villains, those close to others who’ve become Undead, and/or group leaders are all possible candidates for becoming Undead. Past that we’re not going to say much. What does it mean to become an Undead The responsibility of your actions: Even though being an “antag” it is your role to be in the front causing trouble this however does not mean you are to be harassing people, using personal bias to target certain groups, or focusing on one group for long periods of time. We do not want that as for it ruins the fun for all involved, which goes against why we are here. So because of this we will be holding you all to certain standards. Now because to be an undead your character has to die and be “reincarnated into the body” and are thus bound to the power of Iblees, those found acting out of said standards have the chance at being permanently killed off. Before this happens however we will not go based solely off of the complaints. As well as we will talk to you before hand about the situations. Which in terms are based solely to aid you to improve as an antagonist and provide a more desirable presence representing the antagonist. Even if after we hold a meeting with you and you fail to improve your character will be perma-killed. Depending however upon the infractions against you, we may opt to turn your character back to that of the living, and erase any memory of being a member of the Undead. Keep in mind this is a very rare option. Questions and more The Undead development team has had to do so lying to keep the subtly going, including write false lore to throw off suspicion or simply telling untruths to people’s faces and we’d like to say sorry for it. It was necessary in order to spring the hype we’d like for all of our efforts and would like to apologize for that. Also, if you have any questions about the Undead or wish to speak to the leaders of the group, refer to the three managers of the Undead; Kalen, AllenTheGreat, and Zarsies. If an issue is of great importance then it will reach the Head's desk, the almighty Urasept. Do so here. But, with all this in mind, it begins. The Undead will open their new unk and begin the reign of terror, the Age of Cinder. -With love, Iblees’ Court

monkeypoacher 8055 Share Posted September 29, 2014 This is pretty neat. I can't say I've RP'd with the undead before so it's going to be more novel and less nostalgia. I hope the antagonist team for 4.0 can keep this in mind around newer players!
