The Bronze Rises, But Silver Still Stands

Asul'athri looks out beyond the library, to the city. A city which has been split apart by destruction. A city tainted, by, what is again the chaos of Malinor. He sighs, and then turns. There is no hope in his eyes. There is no despair. Only a calm calculation.

"I am not famed among you. I am no politician, and though I know the ways of war well, I am no warrior. I am simply a researcher, one who is as unknown as the subject which I research. I am Asul'athri Parir'taliyu, scholar of the Spectral Occurrence, what is called Occult and Strange in the lands of elvalah. I am not here to deliver an inspiring speech. I am not here to take a position of authority. Rather, I am here to let you know whatever you can do, as a citizen of the Silver State and avid follower of elmaehr'sae hiylun'ehya.

We all know the chaos. We all know the signs. This is the coming of yet another Mali'nor.

There is, as of yet, no military for ourselves to speak of. No way in which to defend ourselves. And make no mistake, this is the beginning of eligne'sae. War. We must be prepared to defend ourselves against the onslaught of the would-be ruler that is the former Annilir Phaedrus, whom, with the aid of his "Bronze Elves," would cut us down indiscriminately for our pursuit in purity.

Defend yourselves. Take up arms, and help patrol the walls, until elSohaer can organize a true, organized effort in defense and offense. Trust no lesser elves - they will plunge a knife in your back and twist it without a trace of remorse. Do not kill without reason - as our Sillumiran once said, there is no joy in death. But we must be prepared to deal it, and be dealt it. I am prepared to arm any who come to me, if I can. I am in no way close to the skill of the usurper - but I will do my best.

Furthermore, I would like to suggest that we once again ration our food supplies. Our only exit from the city remains the main gates, and it is advisable you keep them well and salt them whenever possible. Those whom venture outside the walls, be careful, and bring back food whenever you can.

Lastly, watch the lift. Reinforce our buildings (with whatever remains of the previous government's blessings, of course) and prepare for a siege. Remain armed at all times, be it with staff, sword, knife, or trade tools. Bronze, it may be rising, but we know the truth - Silver stands eternal. If you find any of our brothers or sisters that you had once known, bring them into our walls, but be careful. elmaehr'sae hiylun'ehya. Van'ayla, and ker'ayla."

With that, Asul'athri turns back to the balcony, frowning once more, before taking up his crossbow and armour. Setting out on patrol.

Phaedrus blinks, deciding to simply redraft a letter sent to him, posting it on the notice board below.

Phaedrus then writes an addition to the letter below.

"Mali'aheral are not the innocent children some perceive them to be. They are scheming, lying and manipulative. Asking for your protection while preparing to kill you as your attention is diverted.

This is the last straw."

*a notice is posted outside the Silver City, in the Cloud Temple, and in many other locations.*

"The recent situation in the city of Elves has caused me much pain. I myself have been ridiculed buy these people for some time, these High Elves who hold so dearly to their purity, and have scorned me for my forced impurity. Rightly so, for my appearance is not pure, and should I have been in their situation I would have done the same. However, impure as I am, I cannot watch this genocide with a clear heart.

"Phaedrus, this stain of the mali'ame, claims to be doing good by naming himself the new leader of the elves. Yet was it not he who was denied the position of Sohaer? Does it not seem so convenient for him? He merely /found/ the rightly elected Sohaer trapped in this crystalline substance? He /surely/ made /all/ attempts to free elSohaer. But, alas, he was /forced/ to declare /martial law/? Who granted him that power? He claims that all who may run for Sohaer will be carefully studied to make sure they are good, yet has he been through the same scrutinous study? He claims to be only temporary, and to wait for another election, but he has not called for one. He only cares for a name for this 'New Malinor'.

"Do as you wish, my fellow mali. But even as he accepts those like myself to return, I will not return for I do not trust him. Who is to say that something will not happen to the next Sohaer? Or the next? Until all who would challenge him have fallen and he /regretfully/ takes position as elMaruthir? No, I do not trust him, and I do not trust this warrior to lead the mali to peace. I would rather live persecuted, as an outcast, holding to the best standard of purity I am able, rather than join him."

((I would like to note that this is not a letter. he is speaking to any mali'aheral remaining in the silver city. As such, neither of you would have likely heard it.))
