Lorina's Diary [Second Edition]

[Urahra 5777]

When she was a small child, Lorina felt things simply and immediately. Pain, delight, sadness, fury - every emotion sat neatly in its own separate box. Now that she was older, though, the emotions did not sit quietly in their own space anymore. Anger overlapped with heartbreak and love overlapped with disappointment and hatred. Everything mixed together like the pigments of her inks. Nothing was pure and simple. Gone were the bold, bright simple colors of her childhood. They were replaced by muddy hues, mixing and separating, forming all new colors under Lorina's watch.

 

Sometimes she longed for simplicity again, though - when good things were 'red' and bad things were 'blue'. But now they were all rich shades of purple. Grief and horror with admiration and love. What tone was that?

 

To make things less complicated, she decided to write it in red.

As sunset drew closer, Lorina sat at her writing desk, gazing dreamily out the window onto the rooftops of the town. She held her cheek in her hand, reflecting on the day's events. Today had been... as close to perfect as it could possibly be. Even with all of the bad things, Christopher had somehow made it perfect.
