The Magic Plugin

 Share

Recommended Posts

As most of you know, the latest exaggeration is that the infamous /ms plugin is here and I am abusing it. I am not abusing it, but I won't use ol' Air Quake to sooth the souls. However, as much as I am evil, my latest sinister plan is to actually open access to the /ms plugin to regular magic users [be they druids, earth evos, reg. necromancers, pyromancers, etc. etc.]. I discussed this on TS3 with Zarsies, Kowaman, Zezimus, and a few others and it is completely viable. The spells are not OP, it is just the confounding fact that you have a wham, blam, smack around magic plugin with 87 spells in total. Magic users can access these through a wand system coded into the plugin with low -to- high tiers. Tier 1 Pyromancy gets a regular joe's firebolt, Tier 2 Wind Evo can get Air Crush, so on so forth.

So yeah, who wants in on my evil plan to let regular players have access to a magic plugin that can help introduce a new means to combat the Undead? Or am I just high and if so, did I pay the child support?

1st

Also, this would be great

I used this plugin during my time in the Et I think. It wasnt OP at all! Infact, it could totally be adapted to fit the player's needs.

Oh god it's here and I still don't want it. I'm probably on the odd-crowd here, but if we have a magic plugin, it's going to really confine magic RP and it's going to let people have magic they maybe shouldn't have. (Druidism and such.)

Where can we ask for our wands? The branches required aren't exactly IG yet.

My main worry will be that a poor implementation will turn them once again into golden staves, and one has to look no further than Nexus Plots to see how long even the worst of ideas take to get removed.

I feel a poor distribution of magic will only hurt the server. If it comes down to even the most powerful staves being another toy for your generic swordsmen, it will just cheapen mages even more (that being said, I don't think low-tiers being open for all is an issue). As long as there's a way to distinguish between mages and non-mages, I'd fully support this.

Why do I get the feeling this is going to be shot down again somehow like all the other attempts in the past by either staff or someone else.

It really isn't news that the techies won't even bother communicating with their players regarding their terrible ideas. They'll just hide in their batcaves and do their own thing, as usual.

It wouldn't be a surprise if the magic plugin came out like crap.

I merely suggest this be implemented while we wait for Kowaman. Having this in place would probably let Kowaman sleep better at night without worrying about the mob w/ pitchforks.

Perhaps have some of the ex-MAT staff try and delegate who gets access or doesn't. I reckon throw down ideas and we can work through it. It is simple to get this removed, about as easy as it was to install it and it took Sporadic very short time. I'm just trying to help you all out lol

If you can answer my PM, Gaius friend, I can single handedly save the world from spooky magic!

Alas, I apologize for keeping you so long. The idea of lightning rods is pretty interesting, I'll have to speak with other Undead Managers. The idea that they preserve settlements from lightning damage is pretty damn neat and I personally say test it out. The only trick is that it is stationary against a moving Undead necromancer.

Letting players use this until the magic plugin is ready sounds like a good idea. Yes please.

I'm confused as to why you made this thread.

Are you looking for feedback? It's not written in a manner that implies that.
