Supremacy 3361 Share Posted December 2, 2014 A letter makes its way by a silver owl to the feet of Phaedrus, it is sealed with the seal of Blessed Haelun'or. The writing within is lustrous, the writing of a once friend turned bitter foe. The Butterfly had sent his word. The text is enchanted to last but 12 elven hours. I shall offer you the same kindness offered to me. Albeit unlike you I do so in writing so that you might be fully aware of the ramifications of your actions. In but a few elven days time, the Silver Walls shall be torn asunder and scoured for your kin. Should you flee, just as you afforded us the "opportunity" perhaps you and your filthy Elorna shall be allowed to keep your heads— By mere luck if you manage to make yourself a home without being detected. Until the end of your days your family shall be cursed. If not, I suppose I shall simply have to hang your head upon my mantle much like a hunter would do so with his prized kill. Your time has come to an end, Bronze filth, as has your way of life. That which is Silver shall never be tarnished. The mali'aheral shall reclaim their home. — Elvulnir

Dohvi 622 Share Posted December 2, 2014 If Maheral Delonna Aeléyèlsa were to see this letter which he probably won't, he will lock Kalenz in a dark cupboard until the war is over.
Supremacy 3361 Author Share Posted December 2, 2014 If Kalenz were to see the letter he would balk at how improbable it was that he would ever see the letter again and how even more unfathomable that Delonna or the Rex would find it randomly. CosmicWhaleShark 2488 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Phaedrus prepares a reply of his own, sending it back upon the owl that initially came to him. Upon finishing this letter, he then sends copies of the one he received to Hogarth Irongut, and Rex Rusk'dom, by way of phoenix. Elvunir, While this is a surprise, it certainly is a pleasant one to see that mali'aheral are capable, to an extent, of showing mercy. I realize I am your enemy, that I have wronged your people, and while I have tried to amend my mistakes I understand why your leaders have turned me away up until now. What I see now, in my century and nearly a half of living however, is a cycle. A cycle where our people collectively weaken ourselves. We weaken ourselves through slaughter, we weaken ourselves through debts to other nations, we weaken ourselves through ideals that really... In the scheme of things, have been proven to be ineffective in accomplishing the goals they were originally conceived for. At our strongest, we were together. I began my life, truly, as a craftsman, and in many ways I continue to live it that way. Rivalries between forges were there, but in being a journeyman I learned skills I never would have discovered alone. I became a stronger smith, through cooperation and amity with my fellow craftsmen. It was because of these skills, I was able to supply my soldiers, your mali'aheral soldiers, and for a time even mali'ker soldiers with arms and armor that enabled us to answer our alliances honorably, to finally and truly be legitimately proud of being an Elf at arms. Now comes, as a mali'aheral named Andria put it, a junction. Cycles must eventually come full circle and I believe we have found the point where ours does. I have tried my hand at politics and through my own actions have failed to provide for the Elven people effectively, it seems. I suppose it's harder than it looks. I've killed many, at this stage I think I have had my fill of death, and personally I have no interest in dying when I have only just now discovered what I feel is genuine happiness. Why fight for a nation that no one else wants to lead? You'd think people would seek my seat, not my head. Although I am flattered that it is worth putting on a mantle and not a ditch, I suppose one of the few things I can be proud of. Regardless, Elvunir, I beckon you and the rest of the mali'aheral to simply return. If you wish to live here, you may, for quite some time now you have had that opportunity already I hope you realize. No one else needs to die. Elves have the opportunity to stand united once more, to stand strong once more. I suppose the decision is up to you, whether to solely rely on silver, or to develop an alloy between our people, our cultures, and finally develop a sense of unity after all these long years. Stop this cycle, for the sake of us all. We're running out of metals to call ourselves. I have said this to others, however I will say it to you as well, despite how worthless the words may seem. I am sorry for what I did, I was weak. ~Phaedrus Lle'hileia
Baconthief 682 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Wood Elves and High Elves holding the greatest of grudges. Dark Elves fighting between the barbarians and the righteous, granted that's a more just crusade. Malin will never again be whole.
Jordan1921 373 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Lord Regent Hogarth Irongut sits in the tavern of Kal'Karaad, Thane's and beardlings gathered around. Hogarth puts his foot forward, standing up ontop of the table. The Regent reads Kalenz's letter aloud to all of Urguan, his tone simple as he simultaneously smokes his pipe. As he finishes reading he crumples the letter and throws it into the nearby fireplace. Taking the pipe out of his mouth, he exhales slowly and speaks to the Kingdom. "Lads, why 'aven't weh gold casted Kalenz yet?"

Birdwhisperer 1174 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Elorna does see this, face blanching a shade paler and jaw tightening in anger. After swiftly gathering her daughter and a bundle of supplies from her home she slips out of the city in silence, preparing for the worst should it come. In a short time she returns without the cumbersome baggage to find herself greeted by slightly different news.
Destroyer_Bravo 1054 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Rap'Lur, while smoking some green on a raft somewhere, pie in the oven receives word of the orcs helping high elves, then of the orcs backing out of helping high elves. Being high as ****, he couldn't give a damn if they did or did not help out in removing the next elven tyrant. All he does is laugh a little, and say "Hyu zhuud hev bout mi pie"
