       Introduction

 

Hailing from their sovereign barony east of Petrus, the Montfort family pride themselves on the ideals which frame the House as a whole. Officially founded by Paul and Jacques in 1482. The family occupies itself with mercantile activities.

 

Although it is said that their bloodline hails to ancient Raevir & Renatian roots, it is unclear when the Montfort line ‘actually’ began.

The youngest of the Montfort kin. His Grace, Baron Paul de Montfort is a stoic figure who is renown for his guile and prowess as a steward or commander. Serving many militaries during his youth, Paul learned the value of brotherhood and loyalty, eventually carrying these values into the realm of stewarding; where he earned a fortune trading and investing with the various realms throughout the world.

 

After several years trading, his newfound fortune allowed him, alongside his cousin, to purchase the Montfort Estate and the surrounding lands of Eastcliff. Later, he wound establish the Barony of Eastcliff and usher in a chance for the Montfort family to thrive.

The eldest Montfort. Lord Jacques de Montfort is a humble and intrepid man who serves as the Patriarch of House Montfort. A man who sticks to his values and has for many years studied the society and history of the human realm. Known to have been an excellent fighter in his younger years. His undaunting servitude to the house has earned the respect of various figures throughout Athera.  

 

His story is rarely told outside of his kin, however it is known that he led the Company of the Cross for many years until coming into contact with Paul and settling in Montfort.
