To the excellent Ac'Aelu,

The sudden and unexpected attack, not repulsed and with great carnage, slaughter and loss of life to fire is witness to the wrath and fury of the human king, a response to our involvement and alliance with the Dwarves. Take therefore certain solace in an uncertain time; let us not be deluded by dubious hope who have never doubted in keeping faith with you. I say this with respect to our allies, the Dwarves, for they are friendly and well-meaning, but the matter stands. We will not win a war against the humans under the current fractioned state. Theirs is a nation of men, and ours is a nation of both sexes and children. We do not have the discipline or disposition to continue if the humans are involved; their militia and retinues are too vast.

Neither bend the knee, nor submit, but the current path will lead us to ruin. We will not thrive if we become vassals to white elves, as they are few and inactive in their duties. They are human in all but the shape of their ears. We must retain independence, and strive for a more centralized state whose earth will produce and replenish, defend itself, and thrive. An end must be put to the involvement of foreign entities. We're not a warlike people, and the involvement of factions many times our size saddens me. We must meet the white elves in open glade, alone. It is there that will trump them. They hide in their city, barely aiding their human allies in their skirmishes with the Dwarves. They are weak and pitiful, relying on humans to win their battle. This is a war between stags and lions, not Dwarves and Man.

With what anguish I am oppressed because of the loyalty to my family, to you, to the state I will always preserve, I have said little. We must create the fourth state, one where Elves are united, contend and yet not, for that is our way. We must raise armies, not for war, but for defense. We must arm ourselves; we must not be pushed. I await salutary aid from you with a constant spirit, but let this be concealed from the enemy, I beg, lest his anger against us burn more fiercely.

Sincerely,

Leithlan Camoryn

"And so it begins." Do'Kreshal scowls before going off to sharpen his spears.

"To my...grandson...cousin...at this point I don't even know where all these Camoryns are coming from and I assume grandfather has something to do with this, but I digress.

For now we have peace with Haelun'or. For how long this peace lasts I do not know. Rest assured however that we maintain our sovereignty over our own laws, though I can see why the 'aherals wording in the official peace terms makes you think we've become vassals. You are right in that many of our people are not fighters, but I myself am a military man and I put time and effort into making the Sons of Cernunnos a force that can fight.

You are right in that we have a mentality to change. We are individualist and undisciplined. Or were.

There is a core group that has developed since I founded the Ivory Order, dedicated elves who fight when told to, listen to orders given and contribute to the nation in whatever way they can.

This is how we become strong, when people put the good of the nation before themselves, as I and many others have to ensure we survive.

Your mentality is one I hope I can inspire all the elves in this nation to match, and though I've never met you I can tell by this appeal you have the attitude of a true Camoryn

You can help by joining this core group, and joining the sons of Cernunnos. There is always much to be done in Cerulin and I suggest you seek me out to find out what exactly you can do to aid."

"Why do you even exist?" Vierna huffs, tired of the persistent Kha who has nothing better to do than to harass people.

Ac'Aelu receives the note, scanning over it with a sigh, before sending a reply.

"Be pleased to know that peace has been made with the elves with whom we were previously at odds. While they were for a span of time an impediment to our peace, they are no longer. I must ask that we stop treating them as our enemy.

They are not. We are not at war with them. I know that the treaty is new, and not fully known yet, but it is simply imperative that word of such is spread."

A copy of the peace treaty is sent to Leithlan.

Leithlan tears the treaty, his treaty, the treaty he had already found and read before the letter. He mutters to himself, incoherent but ashamed.

Ac'Aelu proceeds to post more copies of the treaty around Cerulin, grumbling all along to himself.

"Two days and some half-wit's going to cause an incident..." He mumbles, inaudible to the world.

He also sends a brief letter to Haelun'or, affirming that the (apparently?) public letter does not represent the feelings of anyone in power in Laureh'lin.

Ierven says to himself "I was the reason for several Camoryns popping up, but Leithlan was your doing, grandson." He chuckles, walking home whistling a merry tune.

Lilliana sighs at the sight of her brother tearing up the treaty. "Lei." she says softly. "Now you see why I have suceeded from Cerulin." She moves to hug him. "The Bronze else promise protection, yet I fear they too will turn. If you want peace, it may be best to avoid both the Ahearal and Cerulin."

Ac'Aelu is the only person who would be given a copy. It would be share to Art, maybe. I don't consider private messaging roleplay, is why I put it on the forum.))

Silonn says nothing as he merely stands, picks up a knapsack, hefts it onto his shoulder and walks from Cerulin.
