It is the duty of the Maheral to offer guidance

and mediate in times of need. We are in these

times and with the abrupt decisions made and

challenges set I have come to deal with the

first of the grievances.

I, Maheral of Haelun'or, shall be handling the

election process for Sohaer and Medi'ir.

Avern'dionne has challenged Kalenz for Sohaer.

Valmir has challenged Avern for Medi'ir

Those who seek the position of Medi'ir speak now.

It is the legal process which grants all affiliated to

draft a speech.

Begin lliran, speak to your kin. Share your words

so that we may progress.

*A courier is sent*

"I submit to the challenge for Medi'ir and resign, thus an election shall be held for the position. My speech against Kalenz has been said already, and my challenge against him remains. Furthermore, as it was not entirely in my authority, I retract the declarations of treason and assert accusations of such to be trailed after the elections."

*Grim'aeldus gives his piece . . .

"To back down now, to uproot our stability and to cast out strength in this very moment of imperative action would be the greatest tragedy and crime against all that is High Elven kind. Though this particular event where the King of Oren was indeed slain by the bubbling acids reserved for those who insult us in the most heinous of manners is one that has caused great worrying and cause to question what will become of Haelun'or in the near future; It is not an opportunity to implant oneself in a position of ultimate authority as a means of achieving a retraction to what has undoubtedly happened.

The late Oren King had given us the option of death as slaves or death with dignity. He banked on the assumption that we Elves are too passive as to ever defy his outlandish orders and that we would simply roll over while he marched his armies into our city and set up shop. He aimed to occupy our sacred grounds, become privy to our sacred knowledge and to essentially assimilate us into a Human existence. One of us had the guts to act, and the rest of us should stand by that decision no matter what.

Now is the time to stay united and to bring into the fold all of our pure brothers and sisters. Making a change to the Sohaer would accomplish little but bring about the passive annihilation of our species at the hands of a grieving race. Stand tall and with dignity that we are sovereign and we are strong. It was all of us that created this state but it was Kalenz who guided us to it.

Progress, purity and even life are in the capable hands of Kalenz Uradir and I would very much like to keep it that way- you should too, for there is none who posses the characteristics, traits and skills necessary to accomplish this most daunting task than he.

Kaean'leh thilln chul'okarae"

*He bows his head in silence . . .

Valmir stands in the square, his silver armor gleaming in the sun, his blue sash fluttering in the wind. He clasps his hands behind his back as he addresses the people before him, the star shaped amulet around his neck subtly glowing blue. He looks outwards at the people, his brown furrowed and his expression stern. He glances towards Orsino, taking a deep breath before speaking.

"My people. Sons and daughters of Larihei. In the coming months, our purity shall be challenged, our resolve tested. Our enemies advance on our homeland, but we must show them the depths of our strength, our will. The valah King burnt away in our courtyard, his people bearing down on us with a fury burning brighter than the White Rose of old. When they finally arrive at our gates, bearing steel and calling for blood, will they find a scattered people? A broken nation? Or will they find the defenders of silver, united as one, with one purpose.

Avern’dionne is an enemy of that unity. Avern seeks to schism our people, to bleed us of our lifeblood to seize the hollow shell for herself. Avern, seeks not for the supremacy of silver, not for the pursuit of purity, but for control. To shatter our people and pick up the pieces, so that we may drown under a sea of impurity and liberalism. So that our people may follow in the glorious footsteps of the likes of Malinor and Cerulin. Is this the fate of the Mali’Aheral? Is this the fate of the children of Larihei? I think not.

A divided nation, is a weakened nation. A scattered people is a broken people. We as a people, must unite behind our leaders. Behind our heroes, behind those who would die before they abandoned the Silver Law. Like Zeus Ith’ael, like Rael Ith’ael, like our Sohaer, Kalenz Uradir. If we do not stand in defence of our people, our way of life, our beliefs, then we are no longer thilln, we are no longer High Elves.

I have helped support our people with all the tools at my disposal. I have provided food and sustenance to the city to last a three year siege. I have brought inumerous wealth and prosperity to Silver, in ways no one else has done before. I arm our soldiers with some of the finest arms and armor Haelun’or has ever seen, that to even rival that of Grandmaster smith, Silir’ilume. I have managed to provide for this city in ways Avern’dionne could never even dream of. All these years, I have been humbled by the honour to serve you, my people... and I will continue to do so from this day, until the end of days. However now, I ask this of you.

Stand behind me, as you stand behind your heroes. Grant me the honour to serve you as a Medi’ir and this much I will vow. I will defend our nation with every fibre of my being. I will protect our way of life with my blood and my soul. I will unite our people as one hand, one heart, one soul. I would not have us flee to the horizon like the coward, Avern, I would not have us abandon our ways like the Liberal. We will strike back, without warning, without mercy. And as our last breath tears at their lungs, as we rise again, from the ruins of our city.

They will know that Haelun’or belongs to the Aheral."

Praetor Helghastim votes in advance for Valmir because he will not be availiable in two hours. Attached to his vote is a note.

"If Valmir is not the victor then perhaps we have already lost, and Oren shall do nothing but cull a population of weaklings, incapable of standing for a belief that has trascended the ages."
