Dragon Worshipers [Pilgrimage And Religion Idea]

Sometimes, an old man can be found taking a pilgrimage up to a peak in which holds within itself a dragons den. Often people don't question the old man, but once, a small village boy by the name of Titus decided to follow this old man. As the path grew more difficult to walk, it was easy to tell it was not often trodden. When the old man had reached his destination, the boy watched the happenings from a safe distance.

The pilgrim, weary from his journey stood in front of the remaining bones of a dragon. In front of this colossal, dead creature, the pilgrim un-leashed a sheep he had brought with him on his journey. A dagger of sharp steel was soon after used to sacrifice the sheep. The boy gasped. After the slow death of the sheep, when the blood explored the cracks in the dirty floor of the cavern, the pilgrim began to chant words. Words of luck and good fortune.

After his prayers, the old fart returned home, his pilgrimage over. Titus also returned home to a worried mother and chores to be done, he only spoke of his findings to his friends.

WHAT exactly am I proposing?

Good question, I basically wanted to have dragon worship be a small bit of culture to Farfolks and any other races. Even though no magic would truly come from it, it could be a developed (but simple) religion. Once a year, a dragon worshiper would travel to a location of ANY fallen dragon (not daemon dragon, just a normal creature dragon) and make a pilgrimage to offer a sacrifice of any creature. After sacrificing the creature the pilgrim would say a chant (this can be customized to each character) and then receive an RP blessing (if desired). And example of a blessing could be RPing good crops for the next season. Something that can't be considered OP or magic.

If one returns to the sacrificial site on a later date, the sacrifice would be gone. This could mean simply that wolves came by to eat the remains or maybe... Something darker... But it won't be answered. Leave some unanswered mystery to make the religion weirder.

I'm trying to emphasize the fact that it wouldn't be a magic based religion because nobody can prove that these sacrifices can do anything (like religions IRL today... Debatably).

I hope dragon-worship Lore can be implemented or simply just thought about. Animal and creature worship is an interesting basis for RP events and RP events in general.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen, cheers.

I would also like to add the fact that more information on how to be a devout follower of the religion can be added if and when needed.

You are absolutely allowed to worship Drakaar and Dragaar if you know enough about them in roleplay and wish to make a cult.

You do not need lore approval, just go think of some realistic ritualisations and significance to each one. Remember to link back to the real world effectively with every teaching and of course like any good cult promise enlightenment.

Don't ask for any magics or special stuff, either. You should be safe just worshiping the and waiting and galvinising, from a OOC perspective I can tell you if you do it well enough then a ET or even the LT will throw you a bone.

And last but most importantly, the character which you worship this guy on should be a respectable  and common man.

Couple tips and advice, should get you a long way mate. Cults are hard to do but you just need to be convincing and play to potential worshipers insecurities and weaknesses.

There is a surviving dragon that has taken claim to a mountain as his home; the Blood Mages revere him as a saintly figure, almost dietal, based on his (his name is Malghourn, or, aptly "the Stone Serpent") contributions to their reformed art. There some legends and stuff on him, and while the dragon itself is but a dragon and not draagar, the greater fantastical powers are not present. He bears sentience, however; much unlike the rest of his sparse feral brothers. If you're interested in getting involved, send me a PM.

The Roleplay Ideas section is being cleaned up.

A worship of dragons does not require lore, and can be done IC with no problems, unless something else is gained from it (such as magic or communicating with a dragon). Thread being moved to archives, if you have any further questions, please send me a pm.
