TavernLich 324 Share Posted April 22, 2015 OOC: So, with my recent Fen lore being accepted, this will be a thread for those seeking to acquire a Fen. There are an infinite amount, each differing and unique from one another; meaning people can choose whatever they want so long as it abides to lore. Rules: ~*~You must show me your ability to RP properly and read the lore.~*~ ~*~You must acknowledge the rules and lore of the Fen. If you do not, the Fen will be OOCly voided from your character’s possession. Of course, there will be warnings and said voiding will occur rarely.~*~ ~*~If you play a Fen, it is not meant to be an excuse to be a special snowflake; share your RP with others.~*~ Lore: www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/123506-final-fens/page-3#entry1211495 The forest suddenly hums with life, birds and critters alike scattering around in a jolly manner, many gravitate towards the epicenter of the woods, in awe of the sight before them! Creatures of wispy light flutter around, giving off alien vibes. With gusto, they swarm the forests, bringing an ethereal glow as they shine light to the depths of chasms. With all the buzz around you begin to see for yourself, finding a plethora of Fens before you. Some are timid and shy, others courageous and foolhardy, but not one exactly the same! And so, you take it upon yourself to touch one, proving it to be the possible harbinger of a lifelong friendship...
ItsMyWorld66 169 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Damien's wanderings carried him far and wide, from the Ice Plains to the Roofed Forests, curious his ever nature and seeking to fish in various spots. Moonrise comes and as he beds down under the roots of a large Dark Oak....when light flits across his vision. Interested Damien snuck out of his bed and to the pond nearby he had been fishing for trout, only to spy little lights flitting here and there over the waters like glowing Dragonflies. Rainbows of colors he is enchanted by the light, reminded of the Whisps in the forest behind the Great Spring Tree. They dart away but one with a deep emerald hue floats close after having watched him for a while, his ebony hand reaching out to let it land on his palm... Flashes of images appear behind Damien's eyes, of sitting in the mud by the ponds and bouncing along the ground...a loud voice sounding a strange song in low tones.... Damien blinked, realizing he had seen through the eyes of a frog! A marvelous thing it was...would this lovely little thing like to join him in his travels he wondered? OOC: Hope I did that right. <
GodEmperorFlam 3447 Share Posted April 23, 2015 And so, you take it upon yourself to touch one, proving it to be the possible harbinger of a lifelong friendship... Katari stumbles back after a moment, eyes glazed over as sights flash before his eyes. One moment his head is dipping into a raging river, jaw clamping down on a salmon. Another, he's curled around two cubs in a snug cave... his cubs? No... this was a mother. Finally, he sees a glade along with men... a small group, brandishing weapons. With a few hacks and the soaring of arrows, the vision is painted red as Katari is shown the last few moments of the mother. Katari is left panting quietly as he returns to viewing the pink, floating orb of light. Upon closer inspection, he spots the skull of what seems to be a bear. The fens hovers in place, inspecting him perhaps as Katari takes a seat, determined on learning more about his new found friend.

Taylor 504 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Asher presses himself behind a tree, peeking out at the gathering of strange figures before slowly stepping out to get a better view. Despite his attempts to be stealthy, they all pause for a moment before beginning to flee, the cracking of a twig sounding around the forest along with a groan of frustration, both sounds caused by the same person. He kicks his foot into the ground and digs into it, huffing quietly as he kicks up some dirt in a childish manner, but not so long before a crimson light begins to flutter his way. The half elf's gaze shifts upward and sets upon the small light, his head tilting ever so slightly as his left hand reaches out, palm facing upward toward the dim lit sky. The small light slowly and hesitantly presses forward, hovering only inches above his palm. Asher's expression slowly begins to turn into one that appears as if he were lost, images and things of the sort racing across his mind. At first, he was sprinting at incredible speeds in the snow, the ground much closer than he's used to. The next, he's running along side a deer, letting out a loud howl before diving toward it and sinking his teeth into its thick flesh. The string of memories slowly begin to come to a halt, snow falling from the sky above as he hears loud howls, his ears perking up as he glances around. There stands a pack of wolves, not his own kind, however. He stands firmly on all fours, analyzing each one before letting out a howl of his own, as if calling out for help. However, before any help arrives, the one at the head of the pack suddenly bolts forward in the snow and shows off his sharp teeth, ready to pounce. Asher jumps as what he presumed to be his life suddenly ends, glancing around in a paranoid manner before looking back upon the crimson light. He narrows his eyes and stares intently, his head tilting forward slightly as he spots the skull of a wolf, his stare continuing for a long, long while. ThumperJack 927 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Demagol Doomforged walks through the forest, breathing in the cool night air, smiling lightly. He continues his way through, until spotting an odd grouping of lit figures, flying and floating about, he quickly ducks behind a bush, making a small bit of racket, with his chain-mail shirt clinking together. He curses himself softly, watching as the group seem to diminish, fleeing into the safety of the trees. Demagol sighs, standing, muttering "Sure were beautiful alriogh', jus' wish ah kne-" He stops, as a dark purple lights starts toward him, floating around him curiously, then comes close, and Demagol reaches out a hand, as if he were about to shake another hand. But the light, now beginning to seem to look like a helmet or skull yet glowing, comes close, eagerly almost, and touches Demagol's hand. The Doomforged's mind reels, images and memories not of his own flashing through his mind, he sees a volley of flaming arrows streaking toward him from below, catching him in his young leathery wing, and his vision blurs red, as he falls to the ground, and feels swords piercing his tough hide, then everything goes black. Demagol's eyes open, and he looks at what he can now see, as a young Dragon's skull with a dark purple light around it staring back at him "Well t'en..ah'm Demagol." Lita 677 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Resmira's eyes widen as they alight upon the creatures floating about in Fiandria, gaze flitting from Fen to Fen and observing their odd movements. The woman remains in the forest throughout the night, eventually settling in to meditate while they grow accustomed to her presence, and into the morning. After all, she could barely sleep as it was. What was one more evening? As soon as the sunlight hit, the numbers dropped drastically. She peered around at the few remaining, those sticking to the shadows and seeming hesitant to come into sunlight, before shifting to seat herself up against the bark of one of the trees. Throughout the day, the creatures seemed more hesitant to approach, but one, daring creature eventually came close enough for her to touch. Deep purple flecked around the hidden bone within, Resmira unable to make it out at the moment. The woman raised her hand to gently graze it, and let out a gasp of surprise. Memories surged over her. Memories of running, of biting, of tearing. Memories of fur and muscle, of blood and bone. She pulled back with a start, raising a hand to her face and patting her arms as she came to terms with what the creature had shared. "A lion..." she murmured. Throughout the next few days and nights, Resmira would return to the glade in Fiandria, and the same creature returned to her, again and again. After almost two weeks had passed, when she left the glade... so too did Av'tayna, Wandering Energy: the name she had given the creature.

MamaBearJade 2090 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Iris spots the strange creatures as she sits in the woods. Her burns glowing against their dim light. Her first instinct is to flee but she notices it moving closer to her, cautiously. She gets up slowly and moves towards it. It flickers before vanishing behind a tree. "O...oh..." she murmurs as she looks away. It appears again and this time she notices more, further in the woods. She pays no mind to the others just the one that she can not seem to see. Slowly the creature moves to her again. As Iris moves closer she realizes its carrying a skull. its large form slowly becoming more visible. A cat. She stops as it bares its fangs, growling at her. "I...I..." she stammers as she stares at the creature. It turned and bounded off, leaving her stopped in her tracks as the creature vanished with the others. Her eyes lowering as she curls back up against the tree, too exhausted to leave. The next night she waited, the creature once more appeared. Her ears flicking as the large feline spectral moves towards her, sniffing. She takes a moment to watch before reaching out for the creature. Once more it hissed but let her touch its skull. Immediately Iris recoiled and cried out. She pulled away and whimpered. "W-what was that?!" she asks. The visions that permiated her mind was too confusing and caused her pain. She curled up and after a moment she fell asleep. Again she waited for the spectral to appear to her the next night. This time it did not hiss as it came close to her. Its glowing blue eyes stared into hers as she reached to touch it. The visions she saw brought tears to her eyes and she pulled her hand away. "Fire..." she says sadly looking at the creature. "Fire destroyed your home..." She touches her own burns before looking at it. Its white whispy form was very distinguishable now to her. She sighs. "If you want to, we can be friends..." She touches the skull again, this time, the creature lays against her, giving her a strange tingling feeling. For days she stayed in the forest, trying to bond with the large white specral. Each night she would spend talking to it, sharing its pain. After two weeks of staying in the forest with the spectrals, she knew it was time to return to her master. "Are you coming Raja?" she asks the spectral, waiting to see if it would bond with her.

Your Favorite Impure 736 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Wandering, and for how long? Time had passed in a blur, one day melding into the next. Aenor stopped, and for the first time in awhile he looked at his surroundings. A forest, large and airy as the last few rays of sunlight were disappearing through the canopy one by one. Shelter. That was the only thought on Aenor's mind at the moment. An hour or so passed, and Aenor sat beside a fire under a great tree, staring into the flames. Crack. Aenor tore his gaze from the flames, tensing as he looked up. Yet it was a harmless deer bounding off into the darkness. Yet, there was something else in the distance, something else giving off a faint glow. Aenor stood, grabbing his nearby longbow and removing an arrow from his quiver propped up quiver, nocking it. Cautiously, he would creep towards it. People? Aenor thought to himself. He hoped not. Instead, he found a minuscule clearing in the forest, the size of a small house in width. And in it was a glowing light. Aenor lowered his bow, mesmerized by it. He snapped back into reality, looking around warily, suspicious. It was after a few moments his feelings faded and he sighed quietly. You have been alone for too long. There is not a soul here. Out of the corner of his eye he saw more of the ethereal spheres of light, moving deeper into the forest. This one, however, did not make any move to follow its kin. We're both alone. Aenor slowly took a step into the clearing, then another. The light seemed to whip around, looking no different from its back, waiting a few moments before subsequently glowing brighter before it would dart away, into the forest in the opposite direction of the others. For some reason Aenor could not explain, he felt a sadness. With faint frown, he turned and headed back to his camp. It was back at camp, the only thing remaining of his fire the embers, when he arose from his slumber without explanation. The sphere of light was there, seeming to watch over him. Aenor, unblinking, slowly rose up. He had a sudden desire to touch it, and so he cautiously raised a hand, reaching out towards the light. His fingertips brushed against it. Lonliness. A howl. A vision of a tall, pointed eared two-legged beast reaching out with something in its fleshy paws. More food, flesh. A flash and then devouring the piece of red, bloodied meat. This ones fur was odd, looking up to see distinct black and white fur on the top of its head. Aenor was pulled back into reality, panting and retracting his hand. Looking down, with n expression of confusion, of awe etched upon his face. He desired to know more, his desire needed to be satiated. He looked back up, noticing for the first time what was within the light. A ivory skull of a wolf. Aenor was taken aback, and yet he reached out after. His fingers touched the skull once more. A cave, old carved stone. The faint, musty smell of the short, squalid two legs was evident in the air. The tall, pointed-ear one from previously in front of her. Friend. Part of the pack. Deeper into the cave they ventured, when there was a sudden rumble of the very earth, partnered with a loud smashing and falling. The white and black haired one began to sprint towards the entrance of the cave. Follow. They got to the entrance of the cave to see it covered with boulders, a cave-in. Days passed, melding into weeks. Food. Hunt. But she could not. All of the black, winged ones within the cavern were gone, no more. The leader of the pack approached her, hand behind his back. He reached out with his empty one, a common gesture. Scratching behind the ears before there was a flash of steel. Pain. In that moment there time seemed to slow down. Looking up, the mans usually blacked out, blurred face came into detail. It was Aenor's own. Aenor pulled back, tears welling up in his eyes. His own wolf, his companion of many, many years in Anthos. "Oh Sasha," Aenor said, reaching out once more but not touching, "How could you ever forgive me?" He asked, voice cracking. The light slowly floated towards his side, floating, staying. Aenor had a sudden feeling of forgiveness, and of a bond he thought was long gone. The Lone Wolf was once more reunited with the Lone Sentinel. ((Whelp, that turned out longer than I planned. Whoops))

__WaterFox__ 636 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Alirya slowly stalked across the forest, her eyes plastered to the ground as she looked for reagents. As hours passed by and little gained, she lifted her head with a sigh then a startled "huh?" as she spots one of the wisps not too far off. The two stare at each other and seem to mimic each others movements, they needed to observe the intruder. After discerning that neither was a threat they simply starred. What was this creature? Why is it here? They both thought. These thoughts were cut short however, Alirya spent too much time observing it and darknesss consumed the area. She needed to get home. Still the creature followed, up untill the elf found her way to Cerulin. It need not worry about things out of its territory. Alirya came back the next day, in the evening when it was cool and she was rested. She needed to know what that creature was, it may affect the fate of Cerulin. They soon found each other, both were clever hunters. Once again they just starred at each other, trying to discern what the other meant. A few minutes passed when Alirya walked forwards, she did have a limited amount of time. What a shock she received when she saw a skull. She narrowed her eyes then said, "why is a creature like you doing in this forest" The fen hovered for a few moments then shot straight towards Alirya's forehead, it was the easiest way to explain. Alirya stood in awe as she felt the excitement. She saw memories of the cheetah; its methodical, patient, and quick kills. The memory that stood out to her the most was a fight with another cheetah over territory, its was fight that killed the cheetah she communicated with now. Once the memories faded, the elfess nodded then started walking away. Alirya was half surprised that the creature traveled with her, very specifically beside her, but she also half knew the answer at the same time, she understood cheetahs better than most if not all. Luxury 1085 Share Posted April 24, 2015 Katal traipses through the forest, weaving in and out of the trees alongside a buck and a doe. Several birds flew over head through the branches of the trees. They were all inbound to single place- a large oak tree; Katal's emerald eyes lit up at the sight of the various lights whizzing around. The Dryad grins widely, now intent on joining these wisps to play. She darted towards the tree, hoping to introduce herself to the animate lights. Several of the Fen hovered away- but many others continued to circle the tree chasing after one another. "My name is Katal!" she bellowed. She frowned at the lack of a response, eyeing the balls of light as they made their way round and round. A single lavender Fen led the charge- chased by a menagerie of other colors: Pink, Grey, Orange, ect. The lavender Fen dipped downwards and made a beeline straight for Katal. She smiled brightly as she assumed they were coming to greet her, before.... Plonk! It collides with her face, causing it to spray the leaf embellished woman with stink juice! However, the moment it made connection with Katal's face- It presented it's past unto her. Memories of swinging through trees, munching on fruit, and... A large fire. Unknown to Katal- these were the memories of a Monkey. Katal blinked excessively, and the lavender Fen lingered before her. The others had flown off- selecting a new Fen to lead their game of tag. The Mali'ame clapped her hands together- an expression of 'I have an idea!' played on her face. She darts off into the woods hoping the Fen would play tag with her.
