The town crier of Ker'nor calls out to the citizens assembled infront of the temple

 

"Hear ye, hear ye! By decree of Master Dalma and the Treasury with the approval of Arbiter Des'nox, taxes will be introduced within the next elven week! The mere price of fifty minas is to be paid by every adult member of our society at the second to last elven day of every elven week! The exception to this law is to contribute a minimum of ten ferrum ingots to the Vault! Failure to pay on time without proper warning to the authorities will be punished by a fine of 300 minas! More information on the payment of taxes will be announced in the near future! That is all!

 

The town crier rolls up the decree and steps down from his stand for the day.

Ereinion cleans the Warhawke clan hall of the sheets of paper he'd used earlier. He hears the town crier echoing through the stones of the mali'ker cave. He wasn't in favor of taxes, but it was a necessary evil. He figured he'd have his brother prepare the payment on behalf of the Warhawkes.

 

"Taxes," he mutters bitterly under his breath, unable to be heard in the empty clan hall.
