the 1 bow 1112 Share Posted August 14, 2015 Narma'stroh Spirits are categorized into three increments;Elemental: These spirits interact with the physical plane the most, containing spirits such as Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind.Immortal: These spirits represent aspects such as war, strength deceit, so on, and may also interact with the mortal plain if they so choose, directly or indirectly.Ancestral: These are the literal ancestors of the orcish race, including Krug, his children, and the children after them. A lutauman may call upon their Ancestors for help and guidance, an elementalist may bond with Elemental spirits to harness their power, but, in this case, any Orc may devote themselves to an Immortal spirit to try and receive a blessing from the immensely powerful beings. Whilst there a countless Immortal spirits who all relatively stand on equal footing, some take more prevalence with the orcs due to their make up. As a result, four of the Immortal spirits whom sum up the essential codes of what it means to be an orc have taken root in the hearts and minds of the sons of Krug.Votar Enrohk Leyd Jevex An orc can devote him or herself to one of the four spirits, and in return, the spirit will bestow a blessing. Should that orc prove them self worthy in the eyes of the spirit, then they may become a Favored Son, a champion of their chosen spirit.Devotion When an orc devotes himself to one of the spirits, he is essentially offering himself up to it, pledging that he will live his life in their name and carry out their aspect of the world vigorously and in a continuous manner. For example, devotees to Votar, Spirit of the Hunt would strive to be the perfect hunter, and hunt profusely, devotees to the Jevex, the Spirit of Order and Hard Work, would be orcs who valued such a thing, showing great disdain for chaos and the lazy, always being determined to succeed. An orc may only devote himself to no more than one sprit at a time. However, he may eventually relinquish that devotion (which is easier to do with some spirits rather than others), yet their influence will remain with them for the rest of their lives.Favoured Son Becoming a Favoured son to a spirit is no easy feat, it requires years, if not decades of devotion to a particular spirit. You must be unwavering, never doubting the spirit in favour for another. Relentless pursuit of the spirits patron aspects of life, and doing so honorably over a great expanse of time is the only way that an orc will be even considered to becoming a Favoured Son for their spirit. The SpiritsVotar Spirit of the Hunt“Glozug Votar!” - "For the Hunt!"Blessing: Frum’hoital The blessing of Votar is that of hunting opportunities. To give an orc an edge in the hunt, would simply be defeating the purpose. Therefore, devotees to Votar will be blessed with countless challenging beasts to hunt and subsequently slay. Ability to be removed: MediumFavoured Son: To become a Favoured Son in the eyes of Votar, one must have the trophies of hundreds, if not thousands of hunts adorning their walls. Only when an orcs spear corrodes from blood, his chamber overflown with his successful bounties, may he become a Favoured Son.How to RP: Organise hunts, lead them, and partake in them. ET or no ET, by having the blessing it means Votar will be forever testing you. You will need to RP this.Enrohk Spirit of Bloodlust, Savagery and War“Nagijak Urukim!” - "In blood, we are Uruks!"Blessing: Nar’ufurz The blessing of Enrohk summarizes the spirit quite simply. Bloodlust, Savagery, War. Enrohk’s blessing is heightened bloodlust, resulting in a deadly rage in combat to leave a cascading horde of corpses in the devoted orcs wake. Ability to be removed: ImpossibleFavoured Son: To become a Favoured Son of Enrohk, an orc must use his enraged bloodlust to lay waste to all in front of him, meaning a violent trail of gore and carnage, scattering across the realm. Only when the bodies pile up to the heavens, may the devoted orc become a Favoured Son.How to RP: Your Orc will be a lot more aggressive, and in combat, strategy becomes less important. If RP fighting, your orc must show no concern for himself, nor strategic merit. His one priority must be killing who he is looking at.Leyd Spirit of Dominance and Physical Strength“Tanfuksham Orka!” - "Almighty Power!"Blessing: Goth’grush The blessing of Leyd enables an orc to have the strength and will to keep fighting when all others could not carry on. Leyd’s blessing gives the orc the ability to register that pain and exhaustion is there, but simply ignore it. They will be able to continue and power through as if the detriment and fatigue was not there. Ability to be removed: MediumFavoured Son: To become a Favoured Son of Leyd, a devoted orc must show peak physical strength and ability, surpassing all his peers. For to be a champion of Leyd, the orc must have the strength of his peers, all of them combined. When an orc has proved himself in this regard, he may become a Favoured Son.How to RP: Its not a license to powergame. However, your orc will be impervious to pain and exhaustion/fatigue in combat RP. Do not abuse this.Jevex Spirit of Order, Hard work and Self-sacrifice“Maprog Mubaj!” - "Protect Preserve!"Blessing: Ghashkrum The blessing of Jevex grants the orc ultimate focus and determination, being able to stay on course through all distractions, and even block them out. Orcs devoted to Jevex will in turn be blessed with the ability to tune out the world around him, zero in on his goals and take them. Ability to be removed: EasyFavoured Son: To become a Favoured Son of Jevex, an orc must show his capabilities and efficiency, keeping his focus when he needs it most. Making high level decisions under pressure and be attune with oneself, is when an orc may became a Favoured Son.How to RP: Your orc would be a very focused one, grounded, but still out going enough to achieve whatever he sets his mind to. Because of his focus, he must stop at nothing to get what he wants, and must pay no attention to those who doubt, ridicule or offer an alternate path. In addition to the main four, there are several other spirits to whom orcs can devote themselves to for similar blessings. Orgon Spirit of Disease, Pestilence and Failure "Gith Prasogat!" - "Everything Decays!" Blessing: Murtag’ghaara-Sundaum The blessing of Orgon grants greatness through affliction. Those blessed by Orgon have no fear of disease, infections, rust or any other suffering, as such can be turned upon their enemies. A devotee of Orgon is only made more lethal by his afflictions. A rusty or filthy machete isn’t addled by its state; rather, it’s an opportunity to spread tetanus, lockjaw and various other infections in those you face. Boils and plagues needn’t hamper your combat effectiveness; instead, they open new doors to spread infirmity among the enemies of the spirits. In short, those blessed of Orgon no longer suffer agony from an afflicted state, but turn such plight back on all who would oppose them. Ability to be removed: HardFavoured Son: A favoured Son of Orgon is one who has spread plague and pestilence on an epidemic scale. When whole nations mourn, and a thousand widows weep like fresh sores, the orc responsible becomes a Favoured Son in the eyes of Orgon. How to RP: Your orc sees beauty in that which others consider repulsive, and glories in affliction. Your orc’s main goal in all his efforts will be to spread suffering among the enemies of the Uzg; whether by fighting intentionally with a rusty or dirty weapon, setting rats loose into unsuspecting villages, tainting water supplies or even harboring contagious disease in himself and wandering into pink-skin settlements. In the most devout of Orgon’s followers, this desire can be so great that it becomes an obsession, resulting in possible withdrawal if the devotee fails to satisfy the yearning for too long. Ublulhar Spirit of Hope and New Beginnings "Ghash'ishi Burz!" - "Fire in the night!" Blessing: Ong'Miburr The blessing of Ublulhar grants the devotee grants the orc iron will, enabling him/her to have the mindset that no matter how dark the night gets, the dawn is always on the horizon. Regardless of how lost things seem, the orc that has the blessing of Ubluhar will always have hope and the will to continue, never breaking. Ability to be removed: Easy Favoured son: Becoming a Favoured son in the eyes of Ublulhar, the devoted orc will have had to gone through the ringer and back, being put through situations in their lives that any other orc will have broken under, and stayed whole. How to RP: Your orc will never doubt himself, nor will his spirit be broken. He will have full confidence in himself and abilities and as a result, will push through times when mentally, all other orcs would falter. Laklul Spirit of the Swamp "Broshan Laklul!" - "Hail Laklul!" Blessing: Ni'Mokallsha When Laklul bestows his blessing upon the devoted orcs, they will have a heightened awareness and ability to bond with animals, meaning that they will be able to master how to tame creatures and beasts of all sorts. Ability to be removed: Easy How to RP: You will be able to tame beasts from the domestic sorts to rare outlandish creatures, much easier than those without the blessing. To put it in its simplest terms, if rolling out of 20 to see if you tame a jabbernakk, successfully taming for a normal orc would lets say, be 10+. In this instance, an Laklul devotee would be able to tame it at 5+. ------------------------------------- OOC: IMPORTANT If you wish to attain one of these blessings, seek out a Farseerer shaman who will then issue out trials and rituals. Know that it will not be necessarily easy to obtain, but it is not ridiculously hard so dont shy away. Also, should you gain a blessing, it has the right to be revoked at any point should you be miss-using it. This is intended to spark interesting RP with a sect of orc lore which goes typically unexplored. Dont ruin it with OOC, this goes for orcs and non-orcs as well.
