Tired from the exertion of taking every last one of her emotions out on the enormous canvas, she sinks to the floor and stares at the sunny path that seems to stretch towards a bright future.

The young artist can only hope that she'll be able to paint a true sunrise soon.

She carefully packages the original artwork so that it would take deliberate effort to destroy the picture while on its journey. She sends it off and watches after the bird for a long moment, hoping that every ounce of her acidic loathing bleeds from the page itself and onto its recipient to make them understand the situation at hand.

"Nothing else to be done about this for now," she murmurs. After the bird has long disappeared from sight, she returns to her normal paintings.

Returning to the studio, her sketchbook in hand, her catlike eyes are lit up as though a furious inferno blazes behind them. Her words are mocking, almost hisses."'What are you drawing?' He asks. 'It's a secret,' she says. That's right. And it'll stay that way. You've no right to know what I put in this book. ...Neither one of you."

She turns the book over, her thumb settled in between the pages to bookmark the latest entry. She opens the book to look said entry over a moment. There's a very brief calm that crosses her face before that familiar rage returns to it. Snapping the book shut properly, it's chucked clear across the studio, haphazardly landing somewhere near her nightstand.

But despite its current treatment, it's a resilient sketchbook, and she'll most likely be drawing in it again soon...

((Ah! These are beautiful! Do you use a certain program to make it? If so, what is it? P.S. This is way better than I can draw, haha! :3))

[[ You're so sweet ;u; I use Paint Tool Sai for my artwork. It's super easy to familiarize yourself with, so if you haven't used it, I'd highly recommend it.]]

((A very sweet style! I can see you've already made something unique to you, and I love it! The faces you do have a brilliant mixture of expression and detail. I was particularly impressed by the one that looks like a wormhole (the mural one, I think?). If I may offer some constructive criticism; backgrounds, if painted as the only part of the art, must be given as much focus as a face would be given if you were painting it. Detail the background as you would a face, and colour it in the same. It is, after all, the 'face' of the land you travel on, and thus must have its own look :). Keep up the good work!))

Holding the poster up from her desk, she gives it a cheeky smile, looking proud of herself. Shiloh's kind voice has a hint of a lilt as she speaks to the poster. "There we are, Valentine. I told you I'd paint your portrait one day. The most beautiful portrait-" Her smile grows bigger, showing her teeth. "-for the ugliest of beings."

Her newest, more experimental works stand side by side, finally dried and completed. Although there was always the sense of accomplishment and the brief, refreshing wave of pride to be had in finishing her work, there was still something amiss. The artist's frown deepens as she inspects them, up close at first, then from the other side of the room.

"These need to be better. ...More appealing...It's not the colors...the composition, maybe...?" Her brows furrow as she looks between each one with a dissatisfied glare. After a long, clawing silence, she finally pushes a few stray braids out of her eyes with an angry huff.

"No. This isn't what I wanted. I need to make something better. Something memorable."  Grumbling to herself, she carefully stacks each of the new paintings  in a corner of her small painting space before skulking away to a fresh canvas.

"Time to begin again."

As the artist takes a step back from her work, she lifts her chin with an overwhelming sense of pride. Not the kind an artist should feel after finishing a project, something else. There's a feeling of superiority about her and  her scorn seems to be incredibly directed. Her eyebrow quirks at the painting briefly before a small smile graces her face.

"Here's hoping you right your wrongs quickly, yeah? Otherwise the only time your name will be uttered is when bards warn others not to go the route you have." She scoffs at the picture before turning her attention to cleaning her paintbrushes.
