Whats up with staff?

On countless occasions ive seen staff checking their profile, reading creative rp forums. 10x more than actually doing their jobs... It bothers me quite a bit on how whitelist people are waiting for an AT member to finish the book their reading in hope that they will start reviewing Whitelist apps. Today i looked and saw 6 AT members online. 4 out of all of them were looking at their profile, the other two were looking at creative forums while there were lots of Whitelist applications collecting dust. IK they want to see whats going on but seriously and its not even whitelist, ban appeals and everything else take way too much time for the staff to get on them. While the staff are online they are spending 90% of their time not doing their job.

Oh and litterally 99% of staff are looking at community index -_-

Look, we can't be doing our jobs 24/7. That's how a lot of AT members and such get burned out. You have to pace yourself. It's fun at first but it just get irritating and repetitive. A lot of staff members have broken down from constant BS.

 

The AT specifically are trying very hard to cut down the time of waiting to be whitelisted, but we have a lot of other important things, we only ask that you be courteous of our plans too.

 

If you honestly want to see change apply for the staff, have a run and see how you feel afterwards. It's a changing experience.

 

Remember, we're only human. There's only so much we can do. Just bare that in mind. Ciao

In my opinion, the reason you'll see people looking at their profiles is cause they are either using a different window or actually on the server and just have it open. It's basically just as if they were offline.

Actually kind of offended even though this is pointed at AT.

 

We as staff members are also players on the server. What drives most to serve as a staff members is our love of it, and as an RP server, you can bet that it's mostly due to RP, so don't be shocked when they're looking at creative writing. AT does a damn fine job, and in comparison to other servers, our waiting time is nearly non-existant, taking an hour or so rather than days. When people are viewing their profiles, that generally means they are AFK, so I don't expect them to be working.

 

If you want to start thinking solutions, and less about criticism, go to feedback dude, and don't just slander the folks because you think their job could be done better.

While staff members in the community are indeed staff members with roles to fulfil, they are not full time employees. They are not dedicated to spending 100% of their forum time doing their job and do have the right to do other things too. Many have jobs irl and browse the forums at work, many at school, etc.

 

I think your 90% statistic is made up and massively inflated. If you do have specific complaints about staff teams you can talk to the leaders. But at the moment, I think that the staff in general runs relatively well. But we're always looking to improve, naturally.

I understand that but like it doesnt help when you guys are reading rp posts more than you guys are doing apps, I know it gets boring but there needs to be more dedicated staff, I cant apply because i got banned for a horrible reason that made 0 sense and I robbed 60% of the people of oren on my villian character. So litterally everyone hates me out of rp so i wont get any luck.

 

BTW when i say there should be more dedicated staff i dont mean you guys arent dedicated it just means there should be more staff

Important thing to note: I'm fairly sure that if a staff member is looking into a hidden sub-forum you don't have access to, the GM forum for example, it will show as them viewing the "Community Index".

Where did you get these statistics? Also, this is the worst way to sell yourself if you're actually interested in joining the team, you're just criticizing it and then boo hooing about a ban.

 

tbh if I knew you better I'd assume this was a joke, poor AT's are probably so triggered now.

Dont get me wrong I do respect all of the admins and mods and staff on here. I am just a curious guy and when i see all of the staff on their profile or reading storys i get skeptical. Thanks to all the staff members for answering this.

When I was staff i'd have like 20 tabs open at once. It only shows the one you opened most recently. All staff forums show up as "Community Index" or something along those lines.

Also you can be on forums and doing work ingame.
