Headless, the body was dumped into the channel, floating away from Haelun'or. Eventually it would sink into the watery depths. He would not wash away the lies.

He had not expected his demise to come at these hands. Zaniil had questioned whether or not the men ought to be disarmed before entry. The Sohaer told him no, for he trusted the Lord. The men were let inside and led to the gardens so business might be discussed.

Laethis and the Lord spoke privately, walking around the gardens, the Sohaer trailing the man as hobbled on, cane pressing into the dirt with each step. The usual pleasantries were exchanged, the man and elf appearing on friendly enough terms. Laethis had no idea that as he spoke of the failed attempt on his life, another had already began.

One by one his guardsmen fell, one defecting to support the human soldiery. They did not cry. They did not shout. Laethis would not get to mourn their deaths.

The first hint of suspicion would also be the last, the human commanding the lord of elves. A question barely out of his mouth in retort, the men turned the corner and three bolts struck him. He fell backward, cane cracking on his way down, the elf dangling over the edge. Gasping, stammering for words, the Lord gave Laethis his last. A few moments later, two more shots came forth, ending the Sohaer's life.

They stripped him of all but his undergarments and removed his head, leaving Laethis all but unidentifiable in his death. Cast over the wall and into the channel, his corpse would not be found.

He had done much in his life, yet his plans were hardly complete. Haelun'or was still lawless in his eyes, their barbarism unchecked. The shadowy knife held power while the open sword held none. And the greatest lie of all had not been overturned. He would not wash away the lies.

The Platypus was no more.

((To clarify, might not PK, but Laethis won't be in Haelun'or or politically relevant anymore. Don't expect me to return from the dead, have a witness tell me everything and come at you for revenge))

A nameless elf stands on the bridge to the city, staring down into the channel. A chilly wind blows past her, ruffling her bone-white hair, but she seems unphazed. "Hrmph, a shame..." She mumbles, lifting her hand, brushing her hair out of her face. She smirks, slightly, pulling her hood up as she turns on her heels, moving away from the city.

Seth being far away from home can't shout 'I told you so' considering no witnesses.

Iatrilemar sits on a couch in his home with a semi-casual composure. His eyes light up as she approaches with a tray. A single cup of tea sat on it, perfectly lined up with exactly three cubes of sugar laid out beside it, just for him He adjusts himself as he begins to sip his tea. Soon his wive joins him, a book in hand.  "A good read?"

Ciri'lla would begin to rub her eyes frantically, a fluent throbbing starting to rattle her frontal lobe. She stares down at the shifting water, as glassy as her eyes at this point:

"I saved you once. . . we never spoke the conversation you promised. I hadn't known a simple 'van'ayla' would be the last words I mutter to you. I sought for you to be a mentor, now this is your revelation."

She would lurch her hand out, palm facing upward in retaliation against the whole scene as a her form trembles. She would suddenly whisk off the stone platform, heels clicking with a consistent and furious pattern in stepping to find someone:

"I can only assume his wife will just glance over this as if it meant nothing. . . why show a emotion when you can be totally bitter?"
