The king and his officials need to be more connected to the people a lot more in my opinion. He should post notices on what needs to be done, how the citizens of Oren can help the kingdom, and what he plans on doing in the future. He should also try to talk to the people more, and try to help them as much as possible if there are in need of help. Simple things like these can greatly increase how a kingdom does in the world of Aegis.

((Now for the OOC stuff. Basically what I am trying to say is that the king needs to post on the forums more often, or get his officials to post! All I see is a simple thread that shows the status of the kingdom, which is alright but not great. I also said he should talk to people more, which could be a pain in the ass when everybody wants to talk to you, but he doesn't have to talk to people in-game. He could occasionally go in an unlocked teamspeak channel for once, as I have rarely seen him in an unlocked channel. Then maybe people would actually log into teamspeak, and then they could hear why the king doesn't do things as he's complaining about how many things he has to do. These things would help the kingdom a lot in my opinion.))

Part of the reforms were to answer many of your concerns. I recommended the creation of Privy Council so more stuff could get done through competent advisors as the King was often literally building a more complete Alkhazar. If you have concerns feel free to contact any of the advisors but it's not our job to walk around and ask how everyone's feeling today (though I do sometimes  ).

To help the Kingdom of Oren, citizens can stop making unprotected cities/towns in the wilderness, and stop launching unorganized attacks on the undead forts. I realize there is a shortage of affordable housing in the protected cities and that is an issue currently being addressed but people should attempt to find homes inside protected cities as the tend to be the safest.

I personally would do more but I don't want to overstep my authority as Lord High Chancellor.

It's good that you guys have advisors doing things instead of the King doing all the work, and even more people helping doing things could be even better. However I know random nobodys are horrible at doing things right, so it might be good that you have just advisors working on stuff. I completely agree with your second statement, random cities in the wilderness don't help anybody, except the undead who attack them. The unorganized attacks are stupid, and even organized attacks are risky, so in my opinion everybody should wait until the Ascended can come help. The house problem can be solved by building more houses, but it can also be solved by kicking out people who have been away for a long time, or have just generally left. The last thing I have to say is, if you need to, sometimes you have to go past your limits. Also incase you're wondering, I am not part of the Kingdom of Oren, so you actually don't have to listen to what I say, as I am just suggesting things.

I know many people will hate me for even suggesting this but:

A tax may be one of the best ways to make sure that all the buildings are occupied and active. This would then generate revenue for the kingdom and pay for the guard, Oren isn't called the "The Free Kingdom" so people should pay a tax to live there, even if they live in one of the more built up areas in the wilderness (which should be assigned a Baron so the king has a influence there, and can collect tax). Making sure that the buildings are active, i have seen many shops in the districts either not be manned or haven't had there stocks replenished in such a long time they have nothing left to sell, and then in turn can't make any money. This tax would have to be agreed on by the King and perhaps the privy council, as to what each district is taxed specifically for the type and location, for example Shop District One, may have a higher tax The Shop District Three, due to its location to the main gate in the south and the flow of people that should pass through.

I also suggest perhaps having a "Court of Nobles" (includes Knights) or a "Court of Lords" (excludes Knights) that runs separately to the privy council which one of this council is elected by the others to be on the privy council for a fixed term, a High Duke/Lord or such. To give the lords a suitable voice as part of the kings advising council. With maybe one or two learned folk being allowed into the court to give the public more of a voice. This court would give the nobles more power but also bringing them close to the king, so they won't feel so distant reducing the chance that a coup could happen.

Along with this selecting trusted Barons to look after area/cities/towns that have been created in the wilderness as Earls and Dukes will bring the cities under the Kings control and give him a voice in that area that he may not currently have. This order there would also help protect the cities against the undead as the area helps strengthen the economy of the whole of Oren through taxes, giving a army more reason to march to the help of an area, but of course only if the controlling Duke asks for help and the king sees it wise to do so.

As far as i know Oren doesn't have a diplomat (correct me if I'm wrong), to negotiate with the other nations in times of war or to even perhaps gather supplies such as weapons, armour and resources from the other nations. For example why are we not allied with Alras is this because no one has tried to negotiate a treaty? Or some other more political reason? The King should also have his own "Royal Traders" that could also be diplomats that bring goods into the nation that it can't provide in enough bulk for it's self, this goods can either be for the army, resale into the economy in Alkhazar or for the Kings personal use. The king can then collect further tax from these traders and in return they can use the kings seal to show that they are a trusted merchant of the kingdom of Oren

We have too many diplomats, a House of Lords would be pointless, and taxes will be discussed at the upcoming Privy Council meeting.
