~The Grand Miner’s Tournament~

 

Attention, all miner's, grave diggers, pickaxe enthusiasts, and others who dig in the earth, today we announce the Grand Miner’s Tournament of 1550. Now is your chance to prove your worth, and compete against others for the title of Urguan’s Pick. In the upcoming year the tournament shall take place, consisting of but one round lasting the whole season. The lad or lass who brings in the most minas worth of materials at the end of the season shall be declared winner. So, raise your picks and mine for glory, mine for honor, mine for Urguan!

 

Winner’s Prize

-The honorary title of Urguan’s Pick to show your prestige in the profession

-A monetary prize of 1,000 minas on top of earnings for materials turned in

-An ornately, and expertly crafted pickaxe as a memento of your triumph

-A feast in celebration of your victory, and the competition in general

 

Other Prizes

-For every iron ingot turned in, each contestant shall receive 3 minas

-For every diamond turned in, each contestant shall receive 10 minas.

 

Rules

-An ante of 500 minas shall be deducted from each contestant's final earnings to pay for the grand prize, and to help off-set the price of the competition.

-Iron Ingots and Diamonds shall be the only materials accepted for the tournament.

-Miners should turn in all materials to the private chests labeled with their names in the king’s throne room. At the end of the tournament, their scores shall be tallied and publicly announced prior to the feast.

 

Sign Up/Application

Keep in mind, only Dwedmar are eligible for this competition. However, all are invited to attend the feast to be held at the end of the tournament. Sign ups shall be closed at the beginning of the tournament.

The tournament shall last from Sunday 3/6/16 to Saturday 3/12/16.

The final tallies shall be counted and announced Saturday at 6 EST and immediately after, the feast shall begin.

Sylen hears of this tournament, and says to his companion "Seems they've figured out a way to get the Dwarves to dig up more metals for the kingdom while calling it a tournament. It's like telling your children that whoever picks the most weeds from the yard gets an extra serving of dessert."

 

They both turn and head back to the dock yard to go home to Ostae'Fenn, and he remarks "Well, I'd have to congratulate them on their intelligent plan to get the labor done."
