  7. 7. We recently made a switch that OOC chats used Grey as a text color instead of the previous white in the hopes to differentiate RP from OOC. What do you think about this switch?

Greetings LotC!

 

With the introduction of Obelisk's RoleplayEngine I have begun a "Plugin Review" which I do for new plugins introduced to the server to provide feedback on the state of it, what can potentially be changed, and what to keep in mind for future development for said plugin. Usually, and I've done this perhaps once or twice before, when I aim to do this review I attempt to poll the most active users of said plugin for opinions about the state of things, what they like, dislike, etc.

 

However, RoleplayEngine's audience isn't limited to those who do professions, combat, or anything in particular - it's marketed to the playerbase as a whole as chat is an important facet of LotC. So, with this in mind give us your honest opinions! My aim is to help improve RPEngine so it can be something we all come to love together and something we all enjoy using, so it's important you provide your feedback! We don't know what you want unless you tell us.

 

If you select the "other" option post below what you think! If, in the chance you see someone post something you agree with, upvote them! This is a poll to get generic opinions, but specific opinions are helpful for development so feel free!

You guys should test your plugins before implementing them. There are so many issues with it that would have easily been noticed and fixed if it had been tested beforehand.

I like this plugin on the whole. What I don't like is how the auto-quote function works in whisper. It's impossible to emote and you're forced to ignore the fact it messes up what's dialogue and what's an emote because there's no way to stop it from doing it unless you want to turn off auto-quote, which I use a lot in other channels. Other than that, everything else is pretty ballin'.

Have you tried typing the following? 

/w This is my speech," and my emote.

You add a quote to toggle emoting, this works as prior..

Ah what I was trying to do was emote first, then dialogue. Didn't even think to do it the other way around!

That's a bit of an odd blanket statement to make, but that's okay. RoleplayEngine was actually tested extensively, and most issues that arose were from requests for new features after the fact. Sometimes you cannot thoroughly test a module without having a larger sample size, but several people can attest to the fact that RPEngine was tested.

Oh in this case, type /w to focus on the whisper channel, and the just begin your next sentence with a * and you will be fine.

There is no auto-correct present in RPEngine. It does provide for auto-punctuation (which can be toggled off) which is meant only to add periods, apostrophes, and capitalization (though not for misspelled/accented words).

I absolutely love this, but Telanir you lied to me and that is upsetting!

 

Where is the Wikipedia page you promised? I had not a single clue of ALL those channels and any of the commands! Give us the page please~ Unless it's already there, then link us please.

Having anti-spams of one second isn't too bad and can stop spamming. Anything more and it's annoying, specially when correcting or when talking in a peculiar way.

 

OOC: I think elves should have a different hair color

OOC: Like...

OOC: Pink.

 

About the continuation text... I've found a lot of bugs, specially when doing it in messages.

 

 

Also... please don't allow players to /leave looc and m.

You may give it a different symbol if you like, one that you'd never end a sentence with like `. That'd effectively be like disabling it for you. Toggle it in the Prism (/me) menu.
