Tbh you lot are completely missing the point. It wouldnt be an IC vote. . .

But regardless, though it sounds good on paper, it likely wouldnt work. Just like communism.

I don't believe we are.

I just pointed out that any voting in particular, OOC or RP, is not the Orcish way.

Yes, Shamans are important to Orc culture, but in this situation they shouldn't be. It would literally be like the Dwarves and their nominating/voting for Grand King. It would just be a major circle jerk.

Where is Craotor to post 'Craotor'Lur rolls over in his grave.'

But as fishy said, and patato and I said in the skype chat, might makes right. Spirits don't really care about who is Rex either.

I wish to once more put emphasise, that the voting part is all done OOC, and that it doesn`t have to be an all around democracy. My point is to IC`ly:

- Make the choice of Rex done by spirits

-Not by a klomp

And to actually get somebody as a result of the spirit walk we OOC`ly agree on an elligable individual. Again, the Voting or choice, is all OOC. (Though in my opinion it would be democratic, but there`s multiple other ways on how we can OOC`ly determine and agree on someone)

Orc Ideology is itself incompatible with such a "Theocratic Democracy". I hate to be some random old player weighing in on your situation, but the Rex rules to bring victories by being the strongest leader, not solely to honor the spirits or because it is the will of his people. Due to the Social Darwinism aspect of orcish society, no one's opinion of the Rex matters as long as he is able to enforce his claim via strength, even the spirits have no rights or say in this form of succession. Though it is tradition that in order to challenge a Rex you must have the backing of your clan, typically being a Wargoth to demonstrate the capabilities necessary to take control. As for the topic of PvP being used to determine the strongest, it is in all honesty up to the orcs themselves which mechanic they prefer so long as a result is achieved.

The voting part is not IC, the IC part is a spirit walk followed by an extensive rp page on the forums, from which a singular new Rex comes forth. OOC`ly there needs to be a way on how the community brings forth an elligable individual. In /my/ view, this is a democratic process, but I could see truth in that some donnot trust others with a vote. There`s multiple solutions to get rid of the voting Idea but that`s not the point. The point is to IC`ly change from a Klomp to the Spirits.

I hope my word still counts even though I'm pretty much gone.

This is not the way to go, imo. The current system is not broken. Yes, the best PvPer can rise to Rexdom. But it does not allow for an idiot to stay in power. If it truly is bad, the Orcs will spit that Rex out quicker than you can say Ug. Voting is not the Orcish way, Orcs are too brutish to wait so long on an election. Uruks are creatures of the moment, not really ones for waiting, waiting, and waiting.

Leave voting to the Elves. Orcs solve problems with their fists, not their pens.

Again, please read on my update on the emphasis on this. There`s a difference between IC and OOC changes with this /system/
