A Resignation

A letter would find itself left in the absence of the Privy Seal of Vandoria, written to the King and his fellow Councillors. It reads as follows:

To whom still find themselves in service to the Crown and public offices of Vandoria,

I feel no grand exit is needed, as nothing has been achieved during my time working with you all. I leave this to simply explain that I will no longer humour the council any longer with my input, and choose to no longer commit myself to the sin of sloth, a seemingly mandatory component of service to Vandoria these days.

To the King personally, I would like to make clear my disdain of the state of the Kingdom. You had heard me out when I was rejected by my homeland, and promised work. In Vandoria there is sure a lot of work to be done, but no opportunity to take an initiative, and no support of any idea for initiatives to be taken. I praise you though for the stability your policies have brought though; it is hard for peasants or lords to revolt when there is none of either.

You folks shall remain in my prayers of course, and I hope that the deafening silence in my absence alerts at least one of you to the most laughably poor state of the realm. Do not hesitate to seek me for advice if you intend on doing something, but otherwise, please do not bother me, as I am tired of wasting my breath.

With Lukewarm Regards,

Lepidus Cuman

Mithius scoffs, muttering to himself "You took the words straight out of my mouth, my friend..". The dark elven jeweler swaggers into his study, making way towards the pen and paper..
